Any one can do this! It does not need any sporting ability or particular expertise. The only thing you need is sturdy shoes, warm clothes and to be prepared to run at the start for 5-6 meters. A tandem flight with a paraglider is a truly unforgettable adventure set in the mountains of South Tyrol. As soon as after a short run the wind lifts the glider into the air, an overwhelming feeling of weightlessness sets in. Like a bird with widely spread wings you will be flying over green pastures, small mountain villages and deep forests. The world is at your feet, and only the placid sound of the wind breaks the magnificent silence during the flight. During a paraglider tandem flight you may enjoy fantastic views of craggy mountain peaks and deep valleys. Above them, the colourful paraglider arches in front of a blue sky, and sporadically white clouds pass by. You will enjoy a unique sensation when looking at the South Tyrolean mountains from an aerial perspective and feel the awesome emotion of endless freedom.
Golf is glamorous in Lana: not only because the golf club has a Par 70 course, but also because its owner Count Brandis is a perennial favorite with locals and visitors alike. The renowned British golf course designer Michael Pinter created a unique course with three 3 par, four 4 par, and two 5 par holes along approx. 2,800 meters at the historical site of Brandisburg Castle in Lana.
The course at the foot of Brandisburg Castle can be played almost all year round because of the mild climate in the region. Because of its relative length with few inclines, this course is a favourite of seasoned golfers and beginners alike. Those who wish to hone their golfing skills can avail of highly skilled professional golf tutors at the adjacent Golf School, owned and operated by the former British national team trainer, Chris Mawdsley.

Val Pusteria Golf Club is nestled at the foot of Plan de Corones/Kronplatz Mountain, directly adjacent to Reiperting Sports Park in Riscone/Reischach – only 2 km from Brunico/Bruneck

The golf course in Appiano includes a 9-hole golf course. Due to the extremely flat topography and the relatively high water table is - unusually for a place in South Tyrol! - the stylish and scenic main feature of the construction of water surfaces. Rounding out the resulting "Blue Monster" the wonderful and different views into the surrounding mountain landscapes of a sea of apple trees.
Even Empress Elisabeth (Sissi) of Austria and British Prime Minister Churchill swung their golf clubs at this location. A 9-hole golf course with alpine character now graces this area at 1,600 m altitude.
The tee off at hole 5 will forever stay in your memory as you swing the golf ball into the flaming red of a magnificent sunset at the foot of the Rosengarten.
Competitive highlight of the year is the "Alpine Iron Man" contest in June, which involves 54 holes and lasts approximately 12 hours. This nonstop golf tournament is enormously challenging for anybody's concentration and endurance.

The Golf Club Freudenstein Castle is located on a hill above Eppan, belongs to the stunning grounds Freudenstein Castle and has excellent and modern training facilities for beginners and professionals, in South Tyrol. In a panoramic position on Appiano, surrounded by scenic vineyards, was the Golf Club Freudenstein Castle, which can be described as a golf practice with integrated golf academy opened in spring 2009.
Golf Club Passeier.Merano is known for its beautiful, natural layout and fine design and is the ideal place for beginners and expert golfers like. Its highlights comprise various water features including seven waterlily ponds and some challenging bunkers which require a very strategic game.

South Tyrol’s smallest cable-car, the “Psairer Bahn”, takes guests from the car park right up to our club house.
Our team is the oldest existing tandem team in Meran since 1995 with Active World Cup pilots, cross-country and Acro Cup winners. Trust our competence and our reliability. We run tandem flying with heart in a professional way.
The Speikboden was made very popular with long-distance fliers by Kurt Eder. The South Tyrolean rarely leaves his home country and is regularly seen to reach top positions in XC-competitions worldwide. This shows the potential of the area. The Speikboden is an excellent long-distance area both for beginners and forexperienced pilots; flying is possible all year round, but the period from June to September offers the best conditions. The panorama of the area you fly through is breathtaking. In the south the view even extends to the central Dolomites. The Speikboden lies south of the Zillertaler Alps. For this reason it is affected by North wind; if it is too strong you are well-advised not to fly. The high and impressive Durreck massive lies directly behind it and protects the starting place even from modest North wind.
Starting place
Starting place (level of difficulty: easy) on 2,450 m above sea level (GPS: N46°54´54´´ E011°53´57´´). You get to the upper terminal (2,000m) with the cable car Speikboden, then it is a seven-minute walk to the chairlift Sonnklar, which takes you up to 2, 400 m above sea level. There are various starting possibilities. The more beautiful starting places are situated to the west of the upper terminal. First you walk downhill for about ten minutes, then up the hill in the direction of the Speikboden summit. You pass meadows that show towards the south. Opposite them there is a North starting place. In the spring, with snow on the mountain, you can walk down the hill in eastern direction for some minutes and you will then find a beautiful South starting place. You can also continue to walk until you get to the cross. From here you can start towards the North, East and South.
Landing place
Sand in Taufers: 870 m, GPS: N46°54´43´´ E011°57´38. A huge and obstacle-free meadow in the south-east of Sand. To get to the landing place you turn right towards Ahornach just before Sand and then drive on towards Kematen or the industrial area. It is situated next to the street, near the gym hall and the swimming pool. Signs and windsock are provided. The club asks you to respect and follow the rules of conduct listed, if you start from Speikboden, you do not have to pay the landing fees. Advise: Park the bike to get back your car. Under www.oberhollenzer.com you find bus connections (partly only weekdays) from the landing place (Citybus-stop „Sand i.T. industrial area”) until the bus stop in Sand in Taufers. Arrived there you take the regular bus towards Luttach, which will take you to the parking lot of the Speikboden lifts.

The transport of hang gliders is not possible with the lifts (except it can be folded to 2m in length). In this case please contact the "Falkenclub" which organizes rides to the launch site with SUVs.

Getting here:
Thanks to its convenient position at the geographical centre of South Tyrol, Rodeneck is easily reached with a short drive from the Brixen motorway exit.
From mid-May to early November, the launch site is best reached with the Almbus bus line No. 415, which runs from Mühlbach to the Rodenecker-Lüsner Alp on a hourly basis. The bus stops right above the launch site.
The beginners’ landing site is in the locality of Gifen and is also located near a bus stop.
