The Wine Event 2025 will take place on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, in the picturesque setting of Piazza Matteotti. The official inauguration will be at 8:00 PM. Musical entertainment will be provided throughout the evening from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM: from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM the duo Matteo Rossetto and Marco Delladio will perform; from 8:30 PM to 11:00 PM Ina Pross and Matteo Rossetto will play voice and guitar. Guests can enjoy tastings of fine local wines, accompanied by a wide range of food stands offering regional specialties. The event will be enriched by live music, creating a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere—an ideal occasion to spend an evening full of taste and conviviality. Gala, Kanzi, Fuji, Red Delicious – these illustrious names represent four of the total of 18 varieties of apple that flourish in the sunny orchards tended by South Tyrol's farmers. Crisp, juicy and fresh, famed as a vitamin bomb and popular well beyond the borders of the region, there is plenty to learn about the South Tyrolean apple. Did you know, for example, that the apple originally came from Kazakhstan? Or that one in three of all organic apples harvested in Europe comes from South Tyrol? Together with apple grower Christine we set out on a journey of discovery through the local apple orchards. Our charming and knowledgeable guide shares plenty of interesting and curious facts about the apple growing industry in South Tyrol, about organic and integrated cultivation, the different varieties, the ingenious methods of naturally-derived plant protection and the protected designation of geographical origin. During the subsequent tasting of the different apple varieties participants can enjoy talking shop about the apples’ flavours and textures and their personal favourites. There will also be plenty of time to ask questions of our expert.

When the scent of freshly baked bread drifts over Obergummer, it can only mean one thing: it's baking day again at the Untereggerhof. Gottfried, the farmer and host, fires up the old stone oven and takes you on a little journey back to a time when baking bread was still pure craftsmanship – done by hand, with heart and tradition. From mid-May to early October, you can join in every second Friday to watch how flour, water and years of experience come together to form a crusty farmhouse loaf. And who knows – Gottfried might even share one or two secrets of his recipe with you. Of course, there’s also a tasting: oven-warm, fragrant and wonderfully simple – this is what South Tyrol tastes like, one bite at a time.

Every Friday, from the beginning of April to mid-October, farmers from the Sterzing area offer their local quality products at the farmers' market. At the market in the town square of Sterzing, people meet for the weekly purchase of local South Tyrolean products or for a "glass of wine". The varied offer ranges from traditional bacon and “Kaminwurzen” , fresh and smoked trout, cheese and yogurt specialties, homemade bread, organic wines, herbs, honey, eggs to homemade juices and fresh vegetables. Locals and guests have appreciated the market for over a decade now. Tip: Do not miss the delicious “Krapfen and Tirtler” of the Wipptaler farmers' wives!
