Discover the story of the South Tyrolean apple in Merano! This apple tour of Merano's fruit cooperative CAFA will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about our local fruit. After a short introductory film, you can explore the entire cooperative in the company of our apple expert Franz and follow the storage, sorting, packaging and shipping of the South Tyrolean apple. Our apple expert will let you in on all kinds of secrets about our apples' goodness, the varieties and how best to store them at home. To round off the tour there is a brief apple tasting session. The spring hike on the sunny slope of Barbian leads past fields of flowers, streams, chestnut trees and historic buildings to "Dreikirchen". Meeting place at 10am at the Information Office Barbian. Hiking time: 3,5 hours, return at around 4pm, easy hike, good footwear, rain shelter. For members of the Tourist Association Klausen, Barbian, Feldthurns and Villanders the hiking is free, for non-members it costs 8,00€ each. South Tyrol is considered the eldorado for cyclists and mountain bikers. In spring, the tour starts from the village square in Laion and takes us through the Funes Valley to the majestic Odle Peaks. The route leads us through traditional villages and beautiful landscapes, offering a varied ride. Upon reaching Santa Maddalena, traditional inns with South Tyrolean specialties invite us to linger.

Experience an exclusive tour of selected areas of the Benedictine Monastery of Muri-Gries, made possible by the abbot himself. The historic monastery complex also houses a traditional winery, where the renowned Lagrein red wines from the surrounding vineyards are produced. The baroque abbey church impresses with beautiful frescoes by Martin Knoller. In the immediate vicinity, we will visit the Gothic Old Gries Parish Church, which features a valuable Romanesque wooden crucifix and the famous altarpiece by Michael Pacher (1471-1475). ATTENTION: this tour is only offered in German or Italian language St Nicholas' Church was consecrated in 1199. The little church is famous for its coffered ceiling from the 16th century, which depicts a jester in a washtub. The nave has a flat roof and slit windows. The semi-circular vaulted apse contains frescoes from the 13th century, including a well-preserved fresco of Christ in the mandorla. The sensation of cold water, walking barefoot on various surfaces, breathing and mindfulness exercises are just a few elements you will experience on this journey through the teachings of Kneipp. Together with Christine, a Kneipp and mindfulness trainer, the hike begins at the Algund Tourism Association with a cold arm bath. Afterwards, she will lead you to the "Grabbach-rivulet" where your feet will come in touch with the ice-cold water. Targeted exercises stimulate circulation and promote blood flow. Then, you will continue barefoot to the Blumenthalerhof, where you will once again come into contact with ice-cold water in a large Kneipp basin. Maria, the host, will surprise you with a healthy herbal lemonade and a snack made from fresh herbs. A day for you and your well-being awaits, and you will notice that the interplay between nature and water has an immensely soothing effect on the body.

Juval Castle Tour (39 km, 700 m elevation gain) The impressive Juval Castle Tour stretches over 39 kilometers and 700 meters of elevation gain, offering not only physical activity but also cultural and culinary highlights. The starting point is Algund. An experienced bike guide first leads us through a panoramic landscape to Töll. The route then continues along the Apple Road through blossoming orchards to Naturns and further towards Staben. Already during the ride, we enjoy a magnificent view up to the Juval Caslte, the famous castle of Reinhold Messner, which today houses a fascinating collection of Tibetan art and mountaineering history. We follow the bike path until the resting place (just before Staben) and then turn right at the wooden bridge towards the State Road and the Vinschgau Farmers' Store. After crossing the State Road, we need to pedal a bit more. However, with some stamina, we finally reach The Juval Castle, our destination for the day. Here, we will visit the castle and then take a delightful lunch break at a nearby inn. Rejuvenated, we begin the return journey to the starting point, Algund. The varied landscape and cultural attractions make this bike tour an unforgettable experience for nature enthusiasts who wish to actively explore the beauty of South Tyrol. This tour is ideal for experienced cyclists with a good basic level of fitness.

Learn all about organic mountain meadow hay, from harvesting to its versatile use as cushions, hay beds, wallpaper, lampshades, flooring, liqueur and even gin. Every Wednesday we meet us in the farm of the Schildhof Obergereuth. Together we prepare South Tyrolean bread with spices and wheat from our farm. While the dough is rising and resting, we visit our mill from 1831. The bread and three recipes are taken home. While the bread is baking in the oven, we dedicate ourselves to lunch: a generous and varied platter of cheeses from the organic cheese dairy Schupferhof, various types of bread from our farm and our medlar jelly. Join beekeeper Michael every Wednesday at 4:00 PM for an unforgettable journey into the fascinating world of bees and beekeeping. Open a beehive with him, take a selfie with the queen bee and sample fresh honey straight from the comb—if you're feeling brave! The apple tours in Appiano with our expert Doris, offer a unique opportunity to get to know the fascinating world of apple growing and processing. Appiano is proud of its rich apple tradition and invites visitors to learn more about this popular fruit growing. During the apple tours you will have the opportunity to dive directly into the apple orchards and learn from Doris everything about the cultivation, care and harvesting of apples. You will be amazed at how much knowledge and care is behind each apple.

A collection of the traditional costume "Rittner Tracht" from the 18th century to the present day. On Wednesdays and Fridays from 4–6 p.m. in the historic Commandery Lengmoos.
