Guided walking tour along the Freud-Promenade with the Freud–expert Francesco Marchioro on the occasion of Sigmund Freud's birthday "I was born on May 6, 1856 in Freiberg, Moravia." Meeting point: Ritten Railway/Train stop Lichtenstern at 2.15 p.m. (train from Klobenstein or Oberbozen at 2.06 p.m.). Free participation without reservation. "I need a place where I can be alone with a forest nearby..." Letter of Freud to Jung (February 1911). And how did this link between the ideal place for Bolzano residents to go for a bit of 'Sommerfrische', or summer cool, and the genius tourist Sigmund Freud come about? In a letter dating February 1911, he reveals to Carl Gustav Jung «Next summer. I need a place where I can be alone with a forest nearby». So, before Easter, on Friday, the 14th of April, he leaves Vienna in the company of his friend and pupil Sandor Ferenczi and makes a quick tour lasting just six days to find a suitable place around Trento and Bolzano. He returns to Vienna the following Thursday and his research produces excellent results in the form of Ritten/Renon near Bolzano. Consequently, on the 9th of July, Freud sets off from Karlsbad, where he was staying to recover from a bout of 'American colitis', and joins his family at Klobenstein. This is where the Freuds celebrate their silver wedding anniversary, on 14th September - the enjoyment of their holiday thus being enhanced by love and affection. In this fun workshop, children will have the opportunity to unleash their creativity. Together, we will design garden lanterns and little flower pots. Under guided instruction, the children will learn how to use simple materials such as wood, nails, and paint to craft their own small creations. Where Max Valier, almost one hundred years ago, set up his telescopes to bring the starry sky closer to the people of Bolzano, we now continue that tradition: on May 5, 2025, Waltherplatz will become a window to the universe. Two telescopes will be available to the public for observing the Moon and other celestial objects, right in the heart of the city. Participation is free and no registration is required. The observation will take place only in case of clear skies. A unique opportunity to rediscover the magic of the night sky—following in the footsteps of Max Valier.

The private distillery "Wezl" in Riffian/Rifiano has been around since 2012. Jochen Kofler produces over 20 varieties of grappa and fruit brandies with much love and skill. Multiple awards at the Destillata, including "Edelbrand of the Year 2016" for Grappa Merlot. Named "Italy's national winner" and "Distillery of the highest quality" in 2019. Jochen invites you to visit of the private distillery "Wezl", where he explains how the fine brandies are distilled and they are tasted with delicious chocolate. The guided tour will be in German.

Discover Lana - welcome tour. Every Monday, guests are welcomed in front of the information office in Lana, the weekly programme is presented followed by a tour of the historic centre of Lana. You will receive useful information about the holiday region of Lana (countryside and people, hiking, excursions, visits to restaurants, fruit and wine growing, etc.) and learn about interesting monuments from eight centuries. Christoph Gufler, who has published numerous books on "South Tyrolean regional studies", will be happy to answer your questions, starting at the Lana information office, 10.00 am.

ONLY IN GERMAN OR ITALIAN How is honey made, how is a bee colony organised and why are these busy insects that never seem to get tired so important for us? This guided tour into the world of bees and beekeepers provides the answers to questions like these and more. Expert Christian Kessler from the Partschins Beekeeping Association give an overview of the lives of these hard-working little pollinators, show how they work in the open beehive and the amazing social behaviour of bees, and explain how honey gets from the flower to a jar with the “Made in South Tyrol” brand label on it. Equipped with the right protective clothing, participants can marvel at and literally get to grips with the inner life of the bee hive at close quarters. The guided tour also explains the role that the beekeeper plays, what exactly he does and how his activities must be strictly aligned to the course of the bees’ year. Afterwards, participants can discover the outstanding quality of South Tyrolean honey for themselves by tasting various types of honey.

Join our local village enthusiast Johanna for an especially lantern walk along the beautiful Marlinger Waalweg Trail and immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere as darkness envelops the landscape and the lanterns light the way. On this special hike you will learn historical, current and legendary facts about Marling. The route takes you on a relaxed stroll through the village and along the historic Waalweg Trail. After the evening round, you’ll be welcomed at the Marling church square with sweet pastries, a glass of Marling wine, or a refreshing South Tyrolean apple juice, the perfect way to conclude a unforgettable evening. Short guided tour in German/Italian. Meeting point: at the church in Mittelberg. Duration: 20 minutes, Cost: € 2. The St. Nikolaus church in Mittelberg is first mentioned in 1289. This church was enlarged in the gothic style in 1400 and has kept its appearance from that time. The tower is somewhat later than the church and was probably built in the 14th Century. It is made of natural stones laid in regular patterns. Possibly in 1400 the upper levels were altered to the gothic style and the existing windows date from that period. In 1744 a rather large onion dome was added. It does not fit the building but is still quite pleasing. In 1976, during the restoration of the church and the tower, the Romanesque masonry was discovered. In this phase of restoration also came to light a large cycle of medieval frescoes that reproduce scenes of the passion of the Lord, the twelve apostles and prophets

You love apples, but have never thought about who is behind the juicy-sweet vitamin bombs? Then a guided apple tour through the orchards is just the thing for you. Our apple farmer accompanies you through the apple meadows and tells you interesting facts about the diverse fruit. Then, together with the farmwoman Wally, you will bake an apple strudel according to a regional recipe, which will of course also be tasted. From the Schmiedlhof farm, we hike along the contemplation trail with the seven sacraments to St Jacob's Church with its Romanesque frescoes, which are well worth seeing. The hiking trail leads through dense deciduous and mixed forest to Obersirmian and the church of St Apollonia. The view of the surrounding area from the hill is impressive, especially the view of the Catinaccio and the Sciliar. We then descend slowly through woods and meadows to Nalles/Nals and return to Lana by bus. Altitude difference: 600 m Total walking time: 3-4 hours Moderately difficult hike

The spring hike on the sunny slope of Barbian leads past fields of flowers, streams, chestnut trees and historic buildings to "Dreikirchen". Meeting place at 10am at the Information Office Barbian. Hiking time: 3,5 hours, return at around 4pm, easy hike, good footwear, rain shelter. For members of the Tourist Association Klausen, Barbian, Feldthurns and Villanders the hiking is free, for non-members it costs 8,00€ each. South Tyrol is considered the eldorado for cyclists and mountain bikers. In spring, the tour starts from the village square in Laion and takes us through the Funes Valley to the majestic Odle Peaks. The route leads us through traditional villages and beautiful landscapes, offering a varied ride. Upon reaching Santa Maddalena, traditional inns with South Tyrolean specialties invite us to linger.
