Every year in August, a particularly large number of shooting stars flit across the night sky. From 11 to 147th of August, the so-called "Perseids" reach their peak this year. This is also the case on Tuesday, 12th August and the Knottnkino cinema in Vöran is the ideal place to keep an eye out for the "lucky charms". Bring a picnic blanket, listen to pleasant sounds and enjoy some tasty snacks ... Members of the South Tyrolean amateur astronomers "Max Valier" will also be there, with telescopes and interesting stories to tell about the night sky. Photographs and videos may be taken at the event for the purpose of documenting and promoting the event and the area. The recordings may be used and published on websites, in social networks and in the media in compliance with data protection regulations.

We start in the beautiful mountain village of Pfelders in Val Passiria/Passeiertal and hike on a somewhat steep path over serpentines to the rustic Schneidalm (approx. 1 ½ hours), always with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. We spend our lunch break here and enjoy the peace and quiet. We then hike along the Lazinser Steig into the valley and descend comfortably to Lazins and back to the starting point via Zeppichl. Altitude: approx. 540 m Walking time: 3.5-4 hours Difficulty: difficult

At 1 p.m. special ride with the historic narrow-gauge railway from the train station Oberbozen to Maria Himmelfahrt and back. Accompanied by the train experts who tell interesting facts about the history of the Ritten Railway, followed by a short guided tour of the Remise in Oberbozen. Price: € 10, € 5 kids (6-14 years). Special ride only with reservation at the Tourist Office Ritten/Renon. Limited number of participants.

ONLY GERMAN AND ITALIAN SPEAKING GUIDES! Guided hike along the lower Günther Messner Trail Start: 9.30 am at the bus stop “Abzweigung Afers”. Via the lower Günther Messner trail, the route leads across the meadow Rodelwiesen to the Peitlerscharte and on to the Würzjoch. From there to the Costaces viewpoint and back to the Würzjoch. Travelling by bus is recommended! Route data: distance 10.6 km, ascent 642 m, descent 388 m, pure walking time 4 h; sure-footedness required Please wear suitable mountain equipment. We start at the parking lot by the 'old sawmill' and hike steadily upwards to the Freiberger Alm and further to the Latschiniger Alm, with a beautiful view of the Texel Group. After a break, the path descends slightly along the mountain path to the Marzoner Alm. From here, we take a short route back to the parking lot. Sunrise hike in the Dolomites World Heritage Site Start at 4.00 am at Zans; ascent via Tschantschenon to admire the sunrise at Kreuzjoch, breakfast at the alpine hut Gampen Alm, return to Zans. Route data: distance 8.2 km, ascent/descent 630 m, pure walking time 3.10 h Bring a headlamp or torch, hiking poles and mountain equipment. Path to the Ulfaseralm. From there we head uphill to the Schartalm, where we stop for a bite to eat. Afterwards we take the "Hahnl" with us and here we start the descent to the "Waalerhütte" and return to the car park via the Ulfaser/Matatzer Waalweg. Starting from the village center, the nature and landscape enthusiast Martin leads you along a trail that winds through quiet streets, passing by the Cantina Merano Winery and several other local wineries. Along the way, you’ll encounter informative panels about the history and culture of wine, as well as larger-than-life winegrowing constructions. This approximately 1, ½ -hour walk concludes with a wine tasting at a local winery in Marling or the Cantina Merano Winery in Marling. Guided by a winemaker or cellar master, you’ll enjoy a selection of local wines paired with a traditional “Marendbrettl” (South Tyrolean snack). Don't miss out on this special experience and discover the world of Marling winegrowing! 🍷 Return to the village center: around 12:30 PM Registration required: Until Tuesday at 5:00 PM online or at the Tourist Association Marling. Bread baking at the Museum: From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. there will be a demonstration of how bread was baked according to a traditional Passeiertal Valley recipes. Visitors can watch our expert Museum bakers at work as they answer your questions and happily trade tips with those in the know. Participation with tasting and mini-guided tour is included in the admission price. The guided tour is only available in German and Italian.

At the Gampen Pass, we visit a military bunker from World War II. Afterwards, we hike along a gravel road and then a footpath. The trail leads upward in switchbacks until we cross a wide valley at the foot of the small Laugenspitze. Continuing with a gentle ascent, we reach the small idyllic Gfrillneralm where we take a break. There, we can enjoy wonderful views of the Dolomites. After that, a pleasant road leads down to the Gampenstraße, from where we take the bus back to Lana. Metres in altitude: approx. 400 m Total walking time: 4 hours Difficult hike: moderate

The plum of Barbiano/Barbian is in the center of this guided walking-tour. Enjoy the unforgettable hike at the bright side of Barbian while we guide you through the plum trees. Meeting point at 10 a.m. at the Information Office Barbian. Hiking time: 3,5 hours, return at approx. 4 p.m., easy hike. Good footwear and rain shelter are needed. Route: Guided tour of the village Barbian/Barbiano. Hike on the plum trail and on the high route of Saubach. Stop for lunch at Saubacherhof. Visit of the church in Saubach, return to Barbian. For members of the Tourist Association Klausen, Barbian, Feldthurns and Villanders the hiking is free, for non-members it costs 8,00€ per person. For two days, Kaltern will be all about its local wines. Starting from 6 pm, on Thursday, September 4th and Friday 5th 2025, at the main square, in the heart of Kaltern, the local wine producers will offer their wines for degustation. Visitors and wine lovers will have the chance to taste different wines, get informed by wine producers, cellar masters and wine experts and finally enjoy a nice conversation amongst wine enthusiasts.

Guided tour of the Terlan's wine path. You will hear (only in German language) about the history of winegrowing, the vineyard plots, the varieties, the vine-training systems, and the estates and mansions you will encounter on the path. Exploring Bolzano: a cultural journey with Speck tasting. A unique culinary experience to discover the historic center of Bolzano and South Tyrol’s Speck g.g.A., one of the region’s most renowned quality products. The Speck Safari is offered in collaboration with the South Tyrol Speck Consortium and provides a dual experience: First, a city guide takes the group through the old town of Bolzano, sharing fascinating stories and insights about the city’s history. Afterward, the participants meet with the Speck Ambassador, who introduces them to the world of South Tyrolean Speck. The ambassador explains the history, production methods, and quality guidelines of the famous Speck. We continue to the Getrumalm, where we pass various adventure stations of the Sarner Latsche, the alpine farm and the Knappenlöchern. From the Getrumalm we hike slowly downhill to Reinswald. At the Lechnerhof she creates them with the guests and shows them what must be included in the traditional food and dispels many culinary legends.
