The 17th edition of the legendary Wine Cellar Night will take place in the central part of the South Tyrolean Wine Road. Wineries, wine estates and distilleries along the South Tyrolean Wine Road in the wine villages of Appiano and Caldaro al Lago will open the doors to their treasure. The imposing cellar vaults will be the setting for a wine experiences from 5 pm to midnight. Winegrowers talk with their guests; culinary highlights and music make the evening a very special experience. The Wine Cellar Night celebrate the art of South Tyrolean wine, winegrowers and cellar masters and their excellent wines. The specially organised shuttle service, which takes guests from winery to winery, ensured unadulterated wine enjoyment and a cosy summer evening.

On a visit to a farm garden with an experienced herbalist, you'll pick various medicinal herbs, learn about their curative properties and then process them into ointments and other natural remedies.

Our natural and cultural history hike first takes us to Issing. After visiting the church of St Nicholas, we walk along the Pfaffensteig trail to the historic Maurerhof farm. There we take a short visit to the farm museum, which gives us an authentic insight into the way of life in earlier times. We then return to the starting point of the exploration tour. -- Ancunté i alpaca -- This easy circular hike reaches first the Tervela waterfall at the foot of Monte Pana. After a short refreshment, the hike continues following a path until you arrive to the clearing Plan dala Sia. The Demetz family has been breeding 40 alpacas, known for their high-quality wool products, since the year 2000. At the beginning of the “Triech” ascent, you can spot a second, hidden waterfall. From the Schermoos car park, we hike along the European long-distance hiking trail (E5) to the Möltner Joch, continuing along a pleasant path through sparse larch forest to the Möltner Kaser. Here we follow the path to the famous hilltop with the Stoanernen Mandln and impressive views of the Dolomites. This legendary cult site is characterised by countless cairns, some of which are as tall as a man. We return to the Möltner Kaser, where we stop for a bite to eat and then descend via the Jenesiener Jöchl to the starting point. The Radlsee refuge is located high above the Eisack Valley on the legendary Radlsee lake in the basin between the Königangerspitze and Hundskopf peaks. In a letter dating February 1911, he reveals to Carl Gustav Jung «Next summer. I need a place where I can be alone with a forest nearby». So, before Easter, on Friday, the 14th of April, he leaves Vienna in the company of his friend and pupil Sandor Ferenczi and makes a quick tour lasting just six days to find a suitable place around Trento and Bolzano. He returns to Vienna the following Thursday and his research produces excellent results in the form of Ritten/Renon near Bolzano. Consequently, on the 9th of July, Freud sets off from Karlsbad, where he was staying to recover from a bout of 'American colitis', and joins his family at Klobenstein. This is where the Freuds celebrate their silver wedding anniversary, on 14th September - the enjoyment of their holiday thus being enhanced by love and affection. "The machinist turns the crank, the wagon spins and purrs, a little jerk, then it starts moving..." This is a quote from 1907 when the people from Bozen took the railway Renon (Rittner Bahn) to their summer retreat on the high plateau. Even today, after 113 years, our railway still runs between Maria Himmelfahrt, Oberbozen and Klobenstein as the only narrow-gauge railway in South Tyrol.

We start at the Gigglberg inn in Partschins, hike initially across alpine meadows, then through dense forest to the ‘Adlerhorst’ mountain hut and continue along a path through the Schindeltal valley. Now begins the somewhat steeper ascent over rocky terrain and finally over some boulders to the panoramic summit of the Ohrenknott. From here we can enjoy the marvellous panorama of the Dolomites, the Adige Valley and the Ortler massif. Take provisions with you!
