More than 60 vintage tractors, including 40 "Porsche-Diesel" tractors and 5 Porsche-Diesel Master tractors from various years of construction, can be viewed in the tractor museum. This legendary event at the Alto Adige Wine Road celebrates Alto Adige wine culture with art and culinary delights. A functional shuttle service is at the disposal of participants of this nightly tour of wine cellars. The wineries in Termeno, Cortaccia, Magrè, Egna, Montagna and Vadena will await wine lovers at the legendary Wine Cellar Night on Saturday, 8th June 2024. They will open their doors and spoil visitors with culinary delights, music, and excellent wines. A chat with the wine grower, getting to know new people and culinary highlights make the evening a special experience. A special shuttle service drives visitors from winery to winery and back home, to guarantee for a safe and carefree evening.

Many areas of the Dolomites are in the process of setting up projects to enhance the historical testimony of the Great War. Sesto di Pusteria was both victim and protagonist of this tragedy. Sesto di Pusteria is the only place of Germanic language and culture belonging to the Austro-Hungarian Empire to find itself at the front line, undergoing forced evacuation and displacement, and then, together with other places of the South Tyrol, being annexed to Italy. This chance set of events makes Sesto an emblematic place to tell the history of this period, not only for the Tyrolean citizens of today but for all the inhabitants of Europe. The vicissitudes of the civilian population and of the soldiers during this extremely important moment in history have so far surprisingly been neglected, undoubtedly because of the upheaval following the end of the war and annexation to Italy. Given the considerable interest in the First World War that is now emerging in Europe, Sesto has unique and inestimable contribution to make. The Associazione Bellum Aquilarum (Bellum Aquilarum historical association) aims to save from oblivion the surviving testimony to this tragedy in order to preserve it so that it can be handed down to future generations, not only to the young people of Pusteria, but also to those living in places once belonging to the former Austro-Hungarian Empire that were the scenes of battle here. The tragedy experienced so deeply at Sesto and in Pusteria is askin to that of many other areas of Europe which were on the front line or which, after the war, witnessed the havoc brougth on by territorial annexation. The ensuing cultural, historical and political schism was immense; without doubt, these events changed Pusteria but also Europe itself, and today - in a European perspective enabling the age-old tensions issuing from the war to be overcome - preserving these memories can aid us in the construction of our common future.

An exciting adventure awaits you during the guided tour of the church tower! From our expert guide Oswald Tröbinger you will not only learn why the church and the tower were built separately, but also have the opportunity to climb the observation tower: 82 meters high, with more than 300 steps. From the Schermoos car park, we follow the European Long Distance Trail to the Möltner Joch. Follow a hiking trail through sparse larch forest to the Möltner Kaser Alm. Here we follow a path to the famous Stoanerne Mandln hilltop, with an impressive view of the Dolomites. This mystical cult site is marked by dozens of man-sized stone men. Return to the Möltner Kaser and then via the Jenesier Jöchl back to the starting point. Walking time: approx. 5 hours Altitude difference: 700 m

First we walk from the aquaprad Visitor Centre to the Suldenbach bridge and then along the river to the Prad sports zone. Here the Suldenbach river is released from its narrow corset into a unique river delta with many side arms. This is one of the last important habitats of Myricaria germanica in South Tyrol. Alnus glutinosa can also be found here. The Prader Sand is also an important resting place for migratory birds and a breeding ground for the Common Kingfisher and the Little Ringed Plover. A considerable part of the Prader Sand comprises dry, hot sand and gravel areas that are gradually becoming scrubland. Amongst others, the Nightingale breeds here and its marvellous song can mainly be heard in the morning and evening. Striking plants in this extreme habitat are Oxytropis pilosa, Oxytropis xerophila or Orchis militaris, which blooms as early as May. This very rare orchid species can also be found in the so-called "Kultur", a deciduous and pine forest that was planted in the 1880s and 1960s as a windbreak for the cultivated agricultural land. We walk back to the village of Prad through this forest, which is characterised by a branched irrigation system with irrigation channels. At lunchtime there is the opportunity to stop off at the restaurant close to the fishing ponds. This is a permanent exhibition of sculptures acquired as a result of the SMACH art competition, the Dolomites Biennale. After the guided tour in the Val dl’Ert you can independently visit the Ladin Museum where you can immerse yourself in the history, culture and traditions of the Ladin people. In a letter dating February 1911, he reveals to Carl Gustav Jung «Next summer. I need a place where I can be alone with a forest nearby». So, before Easter, on Friday, the 14th of April, he leaves Vienna in the company of his friend and pupil Sandor Ferenczi and makes a quick tour lasting just six days to find a suitable place around Trento and Bolzano. He returns to Vienna the following Thursday and his research produces excellent results in the form of Ritten/Renon near Bolzano. Consequently, on the 9th of July, Freud sets off from Karlsbad, where he was staying to recover from a bout of 'American colitis', and joins his family at Klobenstein. This is where the Freuds celebrate their silver wedding anniversary, on 14th September - the enjoyment of their holiday thus being enhanced by love and affection. The new special exhibition at the Museum Ladin is titled “Countdown to Mass Extinction?”. It focuses on the End Permian Mass Extinction that occurred 252 million years ago and the current climate change. Free entry.
