The Knutten alpine hut is located in the Vedrette di Ries Nature Park, one of the seven nature parks in South Tyrol. From the parking lot, starts the easy hiking tour which leads on the slightly uphill forest road no. 9 for Knutten alpine hut. The hut is starting point for many hikes and ski tours. The Pertinger Alm is located on the sunny side of the Puster Valley above Terenten and offers a stunning winter landscape. From the Schneeberg parking area, a well-maintained forest trail marked no. 5 leads up to the Alm. This route is ideal for a pleasant winter hike, and at the top, you’ll enjoy a beautiful view of the snowy landscape. The trail is also perfect for sledding, adding an extra layer of fun to your adventure.

During the holiday season (Christmas and Carnival), the Pertinger Alm is open daily; otherwise, it’s open only on weekends.

The winter hike starts at the Nigerpass and follows the hiking trail no. 1 to the Messnerjoch mountain hut. This easy winter hike is ideal for families and offers wonderful views of the Rosengarten massif. Return on the same path.

This relaxed winter hike takes you to the summit of Steiner Mandl, where you can enjoy an incredible 360° panoramic view. Take the Jochtal cable car up to 2,006 m, where the Jochtal mountain restaurant offers a great spot for a break.

From the mountain station, follow trail 1a to the nearby Ochsenalm and then continue to the gentle summit of Steiner Mandl at 2,118 m. The return path follows the same route back to the mountain station.

From the village square in Laas the promenade no. 16 westwards through the village, past the "Johannes Steinhäuser" school for stonecarving to the sports zone and the hill with the church - here offers a 360° panorama: Monte Sole mountain, Sesvenna group, Stelvio National Park, Lasa Valley with the Croda Jenne.

There’s no place other than the Wuhnleger where you can experience such intensely beautiful views over the UNESCO World Heritage site with the Rosengarten and Vajolettürme towers. The box-seat beside the woodland, with its beautiful little lake reflecting the mountains, boasts incredible, endless views in summer and winter alike, and is the perfect place to stop for a break.

Starting at the Reinswald cable car valley station, the prepared winter hiking trail first leads along the ski slope up to the Sunnolm mountain restaurant. After a short, steep ascent from the Sunnolm, winter hikers can then look forward to continuing on a well-appointed, natural forest trail which winds its way uphill until just before the Pichlbergalm Alpine farm (cable car mountain station). From the Pichlbergalm head east to the sunny Latschensteig trail (part of the Urlesteig trail – the nature experience in the Sarntal valley) at the foot of the Blankenhörndl mountain. Continue until you reach the Getrumalm Alpine farm (staffed; at the beginning and towards the end of the winter season, ask about opening times at the valley station). At the Getrumalm a wide forest road leads down to the car park at the Reinswald ski area valley station.

Tip: a limited number of sledges for a descent into the valley can be hired at the Getrumalm and returned at the ski rental at the valley station.

Winter hike along the well-prepared hiking trails of the Resciesa area.

This easy excursion is dedicated to the famous pioneer of mountaineering Viktor Wolf Edler von Glanvell and leads from Schmieden/Ferrara to the impressive Pragser Wildsee lake. You mostly walk through the beautiful and characteristical wood, which represents the original access to the lake.

The 2.5 km hike through the Wielental/Valle di Vila has no difficulties and is therefore also suitable for families with children.

The winter hike from the Resciesa mountain station to the Holy Cross Chapel is an impressive experience. After a ride with the Resciesa funicular, the hiking trail no. 35 begins, taking you to the Resciesa refuge in about 45 minutes. From there, it takes another 20 minutes to reach the picturesque Holy Cross Chapel, nestled in a breathtaking winter landscape. The chapel offers a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, perfect for a small break to enjoy the beauty of the snowy nature.

From the parking place at the Biathlon Center > pass the Tiroler Hut >along the street to the Enzianhütte hut > on the groomed trail up to the Staller Saddle.

This winter hike to Wölflhof is perfect for those who enjoy peaceful snowy landscapes. Starting from the village center of Deutschnofen, the trail winds through gentle hills and quiet woods. This winter hike takes you from Vals to the picturesque Fane Alm, one of South Tyrol's most beautiful alpine meadows. With its rustic log cabins and the Chapel of Mary, Fane Alm offers a unique atmosphere. The trail begins in Vals and leads you past the Kurzkofelhütte, through the idyllic winter landscape. Step by step, the charming alpine village of Fane Alm comes into view.

The Alm is situated in a sunny, sheltered mountain hollow and provides a cozy spot to rest at its welcoming hut. Please check the opening hours of the Zingerlehütte in advance to best plan your visit.

Descent: The return follows the same way as the ascent.

The legend trail: starting from restaurant Edelweiss until Lavena (E5), you will find 14 figures and statues about San Genesio's legends. 132 students of the elementary school of San Genesio have worked on this amazing project.
