Start your adventure at 1,800 mwith the Schilling cable car from Vals. From the mountain station, follow the gentle forest trail downhill into Altfasstal. Right at the start, you’ll enjoy a beautiful view towards Jochtal. At the bottom, the rustic Großberghütte invites you for a cozy break – but keep an eye on the off-season opening hours.
You have two options: either continue hiking to Meransen to enjoy the Dolomite panoramas and views of the Pustertal Valley, or head back up to the Schilling mountain station and float down with the cable car.
