This winter walk begins at the mountain station of the Plose cable car – step out of the gondola and the Dolomites come straight into view. Right beside the sun terrace of La Finestra, the prepared trail sets off. The route passes the Schönboden lift and the Gasthof Geisler before reaching the ski slope.
After crossing the slope, follow the signs for trail no. 17 (WoodyWalk). The path initially runs above the tree line, offering open views of the snow-covered peaks, before entering the quiet atmosphere of the winter forest. At the fork, take trail no. 17C, which descends gently and leads directly to the Skihütte.
After around 3 kilometres – 6 kilometres in total there and back – you reach your destination. Allow about one hour for the outward walk; for the return, which is gently uphill, it is advisable to plan around one and a half hours. The trail is regularly prepared and is also suitable for snowshoe walkers.
