Short and very varied circular tour near San Vigilio, between the meadows and fields of the many mountain farms and adjoining woods.

 

 

Variant of the MTThe tour starts at the Gasthof Kofler am Kofel and takes you along a beautiful route to the Pitzinger Oberalm. From the starting point, you’ll follow MTB Route 443, which winds through picturesque landscapes and immerses you in nature’s beauty. Soon, you’ll reach a cool, wooded area, where the sounds of small streams accompany your ride. The path meanders through dense vegetation and passes idyllic alpine meadows. After a moderate climb, you’ll find a welcoming spot to rest and refresh. In the final stretch, the route becomes more challenging as it ascends into higher altitudes. Finally, you’ll arrive at the Pitzinger Oberalm, where a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and valleys awaits – a reward for every effort made. Laion Bike-Tour

Extremely diverse tour, which really offers everything that makes an eventful MTB route. Different grounds, the change between woods and meadows, views and pleasant shade, and not least the interesting profile with several ascents and descents of different gradients, as well as short flat sections lend this circular tour a unique character. After not quite 12km, there is also the opportunity to tackle a further ascent to one of the two managed cabins, or to choose the descent straight back to Laion/Lajen.

The Vinschger railway is ideal for enhancing your cycling experience in South Tyrol. Due to the new Vinschger railway, the Vinschgau region can also now be discovered by a combination of train and bike. The railway connects the garden village of Lagundo aslike the spa town of Meran with the village of Mals. There are six railway stations along the line that offer a bike borrow service (mid April to beginning of November): Meran, Naturns, Latsch, Spondinig, Schlanders and Mals.

Bikes can be hired and returned at different stations. The hire service includes a cycling helmet. For our little guests, who are still too small to cycle by themselves, there are children’s seats available. In addition, there are special tandems and multi-purpose trailers (also for dogs).

Due to the incredible success of bike admittance on trains, there was not enough space on the trains for passengers and bikes. For this reason, restrictions had to be applied at that time. This restriction is still valid at the railways stations of Meran and Algund if you enter with your bike for the journey going towards the Vinschgau region. If this applies to you at some stage, you can use an alternative service: the bike shuttle. This bus runs six times daily from Meran to Mals, i.e. at 9.16 am / 9.46 a.m. / 9.46 a.m. / 10.16 a.m. / 11.16 a.m. / 4.16 p.m. and 5.16 p.m. Afterwards, your bike can be picked up at one of the bike borrow stations of your choice, which are at the following stations: Naturns, Latsch, Schlanders, Spondinig or Mals.

The price of transporting a bike & a person is the same as the price per person, which is EURO 7. A day ticket can be bought at the ticket office.

Bikemobil Card:

This combi ticket can be used for all public transport (bus, train, lift facilities) in all of South Tyrol. In addition, on one day of your choice, you can also hire a bike at one of the numerous borrow-a-bike stations with the ‘Südtirol Rad’ symbol (Bike South Tyrol). Borrowed bikes can be returned at any of the ‘Südtirol Rad’ borrow stations. A fabulous way to discover South Tyrol!

Bike tour Riffian/Rifiano - Vernuer/Vernurio - Riffian/Rifiano       

This mtb-route on the Ritten starts in Maria Saal and leads to Bad Siess and on to Tann. There the route joins mtb-route 393. No technical demands, mainly on roads with little traffic and forest paths.

The tour starts at the Bike Academy Infopoint and leads uphill to the Mitterberg Fortress. After a short, rather crisp climb, the route then goes in the direction of the alpine pastures on a relatively flat terrain. After about 20 minutes you reach the so-called "Saumahd" (1,750m), where you turn left to the Klammbach Alp. A wide forest path connects the Klammbach Alp with the Nemes Alp, which is the next destination of the tour. As a small highlight, however, you can also choose hiking trail no. 13. This trail is a little more demanding in parts, with a short carrying passage of approx. 100m. Before reaching the Nemes Alp, take trail no. 146 to the Coltrondo Alp. From there the 149 leads in the direction of the Kreuzbergpass. This initially runs along a demanding trail (S2), which can, however, be bypassed via the so-called "Krötensee". Then you take the forest road to the Nemes Alp/ Coltrondo Alp junction, where hiking trail no. 130 leads in the direction of "Schwarzsee". From there it's an exciting, partly challenging trail, called “Wurzelweg”, which leads you back to the valley station of the Drei Zinnen cable car.

The Mitterberg Round in Auer/Ora offers a unique cycling experience through the picturesque vineyards and orchards of South Tyrol. This 40 km route leads you along paved paths and is particularly suitable for touring bikes, city bikes, and mountain bikes. With only 200 m of elevation gain, the route is rated moderate and is ideal in spring, summer, and autumn.

The bike tour from Egna to Castelrotto offers fantastic views and a truly unique experience of South Tyrol’s landscape. From Egna, you’ll cycle along the scenic South Tyrolean Wine Road. Your destination, Castelrotto, is a charming village nestled at the foot of the Dolomites. Its historic center, with narrow alleyways and a striking church tower, invites you to soak in the local atmosphere. From here, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding Dolomites – well worth every bit of effort along the way.

The starting point is easily accessible by train, and bikes are allowed on board. Unfortunately, buses do not transport bicycles. We recommend continuing from Castelrotto to Ponte Gardena (see Castelrotto–Vipiteno tour) to catch the train back from there.

This medium-difficulty mountain bike route combines scenic landscapes with a rewarding physical challenge. Starting in Unterrain/Riva di Sotto, a quiet hamlet of Eppan/Appiano, the 24.5 km tour climbs nearly 1,000 metres through a mix of paved roads and natural gravel trails. Surrounded by vineyards, woods and panoramic mountain views, this tour is ideal for active travellers wanting to explore the true soul of South Tyrol.

 

Family-friendly route to Pieve di Marebbe with the pilgrimage church that is visible from afar and popular with visitors. The route is fully tarmacked and therefore also easily managed with ordinary touring cycles.

 

 

Easy route on quiet side roads through woods, meadows and fields. The whole track is tarmacked and therefore also suitable for touring and racing bikes.

 

 

A nice tour with the road bike from Mölten to Schlaneid, with the cable car to Vilpian from there the state road to Terlan and back to Mölten.

By the way: you can ride the full route as a multi-day tour, or explore each stage as a day trip – depending on how much time you have. The final stage of the multi-day route follows the same path back to Chiusa, allowing you to enjoy a complete cycling experience each day and explore all of the borghi equally. Glurns, South Tyrol’s smallest town, enchants visitors with its historic walls, arcades, and hidden gems. This bike tour leads you along the Adige River, past green orchards and gentle vineyards, into the picturesque South Tyrolean lowlands. Upon arriving in Neumarkt, you’ll feel the shift in scenery: Mediterranean flair meets Alpine backdrop – narrow alleyways, charming wine cellars, and the South Tyrolean Wine Road, home to some of the region’s finest wines. A delightful ride through nature and history.

Although Glorenza is accessible by bus, we recommend traveling to Mals if you're using public transport, as you can book a bike transport service there (bikes are not allowed on regular buses). From Malles, it’s just a 5-minute ride by bike to the starting point. For your return journey, Neumarkt’s train station is the ideal option.

The Leuchtenburg cycling round tour starts at Klughammer on Lake Caldaro and covers a distance of approximately 24.9 km with an elevation difference of about 170 m. The total ascent is around 290 m. This tour is suitable for touring bikes, trekking bikes, city bikes, and mountain bikes and primarily runs on paved, low-traffic roads. The best times for this tour are spring, late summer, autumn, and winter, with the route being particularly beautiful from mid to late April during the blooming season.

A nice tour on racing bike from Mölten to Hafling, Meran, Terlan and back to Meltina.

 

This tour can be started and finished in all villages of the holiday region 3 Zinnen Dolomites. This description starts in Sexten. The tour starts at the Bike Academy Infopoint directly at the Helmbahn valley station. Follow the cycle path along the Sextner Bach stream to Innichen. Cycle through the village, the ascent up to the Innichberg starts on the opposite side of the valley. From there it's on to the Lachwiesen hut and down to the Silvesterplatz. The view of the Dolomites invites you to take a break on the sunny side of Toblach. Later the Silvester Valley leads towards the valley, past the Enzianhütte hut and on to Frondeigen. The Eggerberg mountain connects Toblach and Niederdorf. Continue, then, with little effort, along the asphalt road to Niederdorf and on the cycle path to Innichen and back to Sexten.

Cross Country Tour around the landmark of Schluderns: the Churburg, one of the best preserved castles in South Tyrol

The starting-point for the Wolf Trail is just below the Schartegg parking lot. The wooded trail isn’t technically demanding (S1) and it leads from the Nörderberg mountain to Tabland, with various possible entry points.

Paved track with two short uphill slopes. Suitable for beginners. Setting off from the church square, turn right after a short uphill ride and then continue along the road towards Pederü for 6 km.
Once you reach Fodara Masaronn, follow the new cycling path to Pederü. To go back, take the same route – this also gives you the option to shorten the trip by just turning round and cycling back.

This medium difficulty bike tour delights everyone, as it runs mostly on forest paths and paved roads with flat passages. The fantastic view of the neighbouring Dolomite mountains such as Rosengarten/Catinaccio, Schlern/Sciliar and Latemar is always fascinating.
