The Melager Alm is an idyllic hiking destination. Easy access to easy forest paths. Ideal for families with children as the hiking trail can also be done with the baby carriage. On the Melager Alm guests will be spoiled with regional delicacies.

Let yourself be pampered in our original Tyrolean farmhouse. As a national park host and a Slow Food member, we want to make a small contribution to the preservation of our rural cultural landscape with our traditional South Tyrolean dishes.

The Furkel Hut is beautifully situated at 2,153 meters above Trafoi in the Venosta Valley and is an ideal destination for mountain enthusiasts. The hut can be easily reached via the Trafoi chairlift or by foot along the well-marked trail No. 17 in about two hours. Once you arrive at the Furkel Hut, you will be welcomed by the cozy sun terrace, which invites you to linger. Here, you can enjoy the fresh mountain air and be enchanted by the impressive views of the heavily glaciated Ortler massif. The majestic glaciers and peaks of the Ortler region create a spectacular backdrop that captivates nature lovers of all kinds. Whether for a short break during a hike or simply to relax – the Furkelhütte offers warm hospitality and culinary delights amidst a breathtaking mountain setting.

The newly opened Alm on Trumsberg offers a unique mountain experience on the Vinschger Sonnenberg not only for hikers but also for bikers. The Unterweger family will spoil you with traditional dishes.

Guests at the Weisses Rössl Lichtenberg can also spend enjoyable hours and wide views over the upper Vinschgau on the large terrace, in the winter garden or in the cosy wood-panelled parlour of the adjoining restaurant. A small selection of seasonal dishes are served, made from local produce wherever possible, accompanied by fine and biodynamically grown wines and naturally cloudy beer from Upper Bavaria.

Whether it's an apple strudel after a successful hike on the Piz Lad, a Kaiserschmarrn before a bike tour, or homemade cheese dumplings after a hike to the Rescher Alm; there's something for everyone here. The Schlanderser Alm Alp is situated on 1,891 m in the Schlandrauntal valley, near the small lake. Hikers will enjoy simple snack and drinks.

Finailhof farm, at an altitude of 1973 m above sea level and with a panoramic view of the surrounding peaks and of Vernagt Lake, is steeped in history. In 1416, the farmer at Finailhof farm apparently provided refuge to Duke Friedrich IV who was on the run with not a penny in his pocket, allowing him to work as a farm hand tending the sheep. The Duke’s beaker and cutlery are still on display at the farm today. Finailhof farm can be reached on foot along several different trails and is also easily accessible by car. We will be happy to spoil you with our traditional Tyrolean farmhouse cuisine made mainly from our own home-grown produce and served on our sun terrace with its panoramic view. We are open seven days a week all year round (please book in advance for evenings and in the winter months).

Fresh homemade delicacies await you here, at 1,914 meters above sea level in the beautiful Zerzertal. Whether for lunch or dinner, for a glass of milk or a beer, an ideal stop for body and soul in the summer months. At the Brugger-Alm there is an place where you can enjoy the alpine cheese, which is made in summer from the milk of about 70 cows, and hearty South Tyrolean food. Open from mid-May to early October.

The Madritsch Hut is located in Solda, below the Madritsch Pass in the middle of the mountain world around King Ortles. The hut can be reached via the large Solda panoramic cable car to the mountain station at 2,610 m. The family-friendly hiking trail along the summer pasture of Reinhold Messner's yaks takes you to the Madritsch Hut (2,820 m) in around 1 hour. On the sun terrace you will be enchanted by Tyrolean specialties and the breathtaking mountain scenery. The Madritsch hut, which is typically furnished with wood, was largely rebuilt in 2017 and furnished in a modern style. The kitchen spoils you with traditional South Tyrolean & Italian dishes such as Tyrolean dumplings, Schlutzkrapfen and delicious Kaiserschmarrn. In the Yak Bar, hot chocolate or coffee awaits you and in Europe’s highest igloo, cool beer, Willi afterwards and great après-ski music await you. Enjoy the unique view of the Ortler Group from the sun terrace.

The Kortscher Alm Alpine Pasture is situated on 1,987 m in the Schlandrauntal valley, under the mountain lake of Kortsch. The Alm team serves beverages and snacks as well as milk, cheese, yogurt and butter from the farmyard production.

The Obere Laaser Alm Alpine Pasture is situated on 2,047 m in the Laas valley, with view to the Jenn summit, the marble quarry and the glacier. Hikers will enjoy simple food and drinks.

It has long been clear to researchers how important it is to keep that little glimmer of magic from our childhood days alive. That's why we, the Gerstl family, are all the more delighted to present DAS GERSTL Family Retreat as the first family hotel directly on Lake Reschen following intensive planning. Our mission? In keeping with our r30 philosophy, for instance, we endeavour to source most of the raw materials we need for hotel operations from within a 30 km radius. The original Vinschgau bread is sourced from the local baker, the Wagyu beef from our own breeding programme and even our r30 cosmetics line, waiting for you in the Venosta Spa as well as in your suite, is derived from the natural treasures of the surrounding area. Guests wishing to do their bit can, for example, opt out of unnecessary towel changes or room cleaning and help to conserve resources. LET’S CREATE MOMENTS AS A FAMILY Sometimes together, sometimes each to their own, but always among like-minded people - that's how the world and its marvels can be (re)discovered with all the senses. Children and toddlers climb together with Gersti the snow bunny and his friends, romp around, do crafts and learn more about nature and the environment - not to mention about themselves and their own adventurous courage - in a playful manner. And what about mum, dad and the older kids? The same goes, of course. Even adults can become adventurers and explorers once again on hiking trails, bike trails and slopes, barely a stone's throw from the hotel, or while sailing and kiting on Lake Reschen. And for those who already find life adventurous enough, there are homely cosy corners and the famous Gerstl atmosphere where you can simply let go. From the all-round carefree package awaiting each of our guests, containing everything that is needed for the kids on holiday - something that will save you time when packing for a change - to our multifaceted spa programme with its regional focus: we have thought of everything so that our guests can relax from the very first second they arrive. Our bistro is located directly on the main street in the beautiful building of the Mals farm shop. The principles of natural, local, high-quality and tasty food, produced under fair conditions, apply. As a social cooperative, we reintegrate disadvantaged people into working life. We are pleased to offer daily changing daily specials and a small fine dining menu. All dishes are homemade - dumplings and dumplings, our seasonal salad buffet. Almost exclusively regional and organic ingredients are used. We strive to be able to offer our customers the valuable products from local agriculture.

Niedermairhof farm is situated high above Kastelbell on the side of the Trumsberg mountain. From its sun terrace you can enjoy fantastic views down and across Vinschgau valley and into Martelltal valley and inside there are two cosy and inviting wood-panelled farm parlours. The Kaserer family’s many home made products will turn ordinary meals into a real treat. Open from 1st April to 20th December. Thursdays closed. From 15th June to 15th August closed Thursdays and Sundays. Orders in advance required for evening meals.

The Kanzel Hut is located at an altitude of 2,350 m, right next to the mountain station of the Kanzel cable car. This excellent location makes it a popular destination for hikers and mountain lovers. The Kanzel restaurant offers a diverse menu that ranges from classic dishes to delicious pasta variations and fresh salads. Particularly famous is the renowned Kaiserschmarrn, served here to perfection and a true delight for every palate. The bright, modern bar furnished with wood invites guests to linger and offers breathtaking views of Sulden and the impressive mountain world surrounding King Ortler. Here, you can unwind after an adventurous hike and fully enjoy the beauty of nature. The Kanzel Hut is easily accessible via hiking trails No. 5, 11, and 12. Alternatively, you can also conveniently reach the hut by the Kanzel or Rosim (open only in winter) cable car.

Modern terrace café, where you will find ice-cream, little snacks like toast, baguettes and pizzas, croissants and cakes, also as bottled beers, wines from the territory and various cocktails.

The K2 Hut is located at an altitude of 2,350 m, directly at the mountain station of the Langenstein chairlift. This location offers not only breathtaking views but also the opportunity to fully enjoy the fresh mountain air. The terrace of the mountain restaurant, which stands out for its unique archi-tectural design, invites you to bask in the sun in a relaxed atmosphere – with a direct view of the impressive Ortler. The menu at the K2 Hut is diverse: daily specials, juicy steaks, and delicious fish specialties are served, delighting both gourmets and hikers. A special highlight is the homemade apple strudel, which should never be missed during a visit. The K2 Hut is accessible via hiking trails 3 and 4. Alternatively, you can also conveniently reach the hut by the Langenstein chairlift.

Enjoy farm produce like real bacon from Almschwein, salami, smoked sausage, dried meat (beef), alpine cheese, eggs, milk, bread, jams, juices and much more.

In our guest house, we spoil you with delicacies from the region. We are also equipped for festivities of all kinds (vintage, birthday celebrations ...) in the midst of untouched mountain nature.
