Did you know that a section of the famous E5 long-distance hiking trail was once a Waalweg? Hiking guide Arnold accompanies you on this route, telling you exciting stories about the historic waterways and the local flora and fauna along the way. A highlight of the hike is a stop at the Schiefer fish farm. During a guided tour of the facility, you will learn all about sustainable fish farming and the careful processing of the farmed fish. The picture shows important women from the past and present - women's rights activists, scientists and artists. They are women from four areas: Women's movement, freedom/democracy, science and art. The painting is inspired by Raphael's fresco ‘The School of Athens’, which brings together famous philosophers and researchers of antiquity in a Renaissance architectural setting. Catarina Chietti was born in Düsseldorf and grew up in Hamburg. She studied architecture with additional painting studies under Professor Armin Sandig. She has lived in Fläming near Berlin since 1998, runs an architectural practice and teaches architectural history as a private lecturer at the TU Berlin. As a painter, she has been and still is present in numerous exhibitions. Her paintings are primarily portraits, but also landscapes.

The village festival is certainly known throughout the country as one of the oldest, largest and most beautiful village festivals of all. In 2024, the village festival took place for the first time on the fairground in large tents: "Mårtiner Dorffestival" 2024 was a complete success! This year, the "Mårtiner Dorffestival" has the honour of hosting the 15th VSM District Music Festival Merano at the same time. 36 music bands with over 1.600 musicians and sutlers from the Burggrafenamt and Passeier will adorn the village with their traditional costumes and brass band sounds this weekend. There will be short concerts by the bands, a marching band competition on the sports field and a festive parade and mass on the village square on Saturday and Sunday. On Friday and Saturday, well-known artists and DJs will be performing. On Sunday, admission to the family festival is free. There will be fun and games for the whole family. A journey between memory and magic, between song and story, between past and present. La Prima Volta is a show born from listening, meeting and sharing. The project gives voice to the memories, stories, songs and emotions of the guests of the Bolzano RSAs, collecting them through interviews and comic strips respectively edited by Maddalena Ansaloni and Armin Barducci and transforming them into a poetic and evocative narration. Alessio Kogoj and Giacomo Anderle are the creators of the writing and the theatrical performance: two wandering storytellers who bring the fruit of these encounters to the public, restoring the memories of the elderly in a theatrical form that mixes storytelling, dance, song and a little magic. A theatre that becomes community, that gathers and returns, that welcomes and surprises. Because every story, every song, every gesture can still and always be the first time.

From March to the end of October, the biological Gruberhof winery in Marling invites you to guided tours of the wine cellar every Friday at 4:00 PM. Discover the fascinating world of viticulture and learn interesting details about winemaking and the history of Gruberhof during a tour of the historic and new cellar rooms. Since 1995, the estate has been managed organically. With deep dedication for nature and Bioland-certified guidelines, the Gamper family cultivates their vineyards. The wine selection includes native varieties such as Vernatsch and Lagrein, the fungus-resistant Bronner and Souvignier gris, as well as a powerful Merlot and Cabernet cuvée. Surrounded by historic walls, fresh air and the calming sounds of birdsong, we will learn how to open our minds, recharge our batteries and together find peace. In a harmonious sequence of asanas (body postures), we will direct our awareness to our breathing and practice meditation. And quickly notice how the soothing silence in us activates new vitality and enables our soul to relax. Gala, Kanzi, Fuji, Red Delicious – these illustrious names represent four of the total of 18 varieties of apple that flourish in the sunny orchards tended by South Tyrol's farmers. Crisp, juicy and fresh, famed as a vitamin bomb and popular well beyond the borders of the region, there is plenty to learn about the South Tyrolean apple. Did you know, for example, that the apple originally came from Kazakhstan? Or that one in three of all organic apples harvested in Europe comes from South Tyrol? Together with apple grower Christine we set out on a journey of discovery through the local apple orchards. Our charming and knowledgeable guide shares plenty of interesting and curious facts about the apple growing industry in South Tyrol, about organic and integrated cultivation, the different varieties, the ingenious methods of naturally-derived plant protection and the protected designation of geographical origin. During the subsequent tasting of the different apple varieties participants can enjoy talking shop about the apples’ flavours and textures and their personal favourites. There will also be plenty of time to ask questions of our expert.

Within one hour you will get to know the most interesting Hofer objects and some unknown history. The discovery tour leads mainly through the "Heroes & Hofer" trail, but an overview of the entire museum is also available on request. The guided tour is only available in German.

Fresh mountain air, plenty of free range and GMO-free feeding ensure that the pigs at the Obertimpflerhof farm in Vöran feel completely at ease. ‘That's the secret to the outstanding quality of our meat,’ says farmer Franz with conviction. This is processed into delicious bacon and sausage products using traditional methods on the farm. From Naturno you cycle comfortably along the Adige cycle path to Merano. From the Thermenplatz square, head eastwards through the Elisabeth Park into the Passeier Valley. Mostly flat, with a slight incline, you can enjoy the marvellous landscape along the Passeier cycle path (19 km). The refreshing air of the Passer accompanies you along the entire cycle path to St. Leonhard. On Sunday afternoons in the garden, we celebrate the spectacle - as a radical indictment of modern working society and capitalism. We celebrate the capacity for inactivity - the vita contemplativa - and the good life among people, friends and like-minded people. Art brings back the humour that we so desperately need in today's world and shows a female gaze. "How can you still see reality," says Christine Lederer about her performance. As an artist, she works her way through her works and performative acts, which are often political, usually guided by words, reveal worlds and give instructions for action. In co-operation with the cultural association K.art.

United by their joint project to dress the zither in a new guise, musician Reinhilde Gamper and composer and multi-instrumentalist Simon Gamper have created a new concert programme. Together with sound engineer Claus Stecher and visual concept creator Julian Geier, they interweave sound and image to create an impressive overall experience in St Margareth's Chapel. In the 20-minute title piece ZEIT, the ensemble explores the concept of time as the basis of individual consciousness and the finite nature of time - or rather the possibility of infinity if one considers the theory that time does not physically exist.

"Anima Periferica" is conceived as a photographic journey through various peripheral areas of Italy – the so-called aree periferiche ed ultraperiferiche – far from the major urban centers. The project explores the aesthetic and social dimensions of the periphery, searching for what exists in places where seemingly "nothing" is to be found. In the former Piazzi store in Niederlana, the photographs from Emilia-Romagna by Federico Campana and the poetic-narrative texts by Cornelia Schöpf engage with the question of what happens to public space when it loses its basic structures – shops and local businesses. The opening on Saturday, May 17th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm will feature a music performance by the Lab Elettroacustico from the A. Vivaldi Music School, based on the works of John Cage.

After 1945, many bunkers remained operational during the "Cold War" until they were decommissioned in the 1990s and transferred to the Province of South Tyrol. Some of these defensive structures hold historical significance, offering unique architectural insights today. The bunker at Töll was acquired by the municipalities of Algund and Marling and has been made accessible for guided visits.
