Meran/Merano, Meran/Merano and environs
A family-run hotel business is planning to build a new pool area in the midst of a summer heatwave. Amid the hustle and bustle of preparations, the father even forgets the birthday of his youngest daughter. Full of energy, the neglected yet spoiled daughter tears out shade-giving trees, commissions the gourmet chef to prepare unicorn roast, and eventually loses her favorite toy — the golden ball — in the trash-filled well.
There she encounters a talking frog who helps her change her perspective on the world. Together, they decide not to throw a lavish birthday party but to celebrate nature instead. Her family and the hotel guests are initially surprised, but soon realize that living in harmony with the environment is a step in the right direction.
This adaptation of the classic fairy tale is a cheerful and profound piece of devised theatre, created in collaboration with the entire ensemble. With four entertaining stations, lovingly crafted scenes, witty characters, and captivating songs, the audience is taken on an amusing yet thought-provoking journey into the themes of our time.
