Since then, the most successful South Tyrolean folk group, Titlá, has been captivating audiences for over 35 years with their unique folk music. Through Irish and Celtic melodies and sounds, the five musicians have found their way to traditional Tyrolean folk music. Fiddle and bagpipes, flute and tuba, as well as drums and guitar, all contribute to the band’s unmistakable sound. Their well-crafted, self-composed songs make Titlá truly unique and have brought the group success and recognition far beyond the borders of South Tyrol. The lyrics are deliberately sung in dialect to preserve and rediscover their cultural heritage - both musical and linguistic. The current concert program offers a varied mix from 35 years of making music together. The concert will initially focus on the music of Lèo Delibes from the French Romantic period with his Messe brève, arranged for two-part female choir with organ accompaniment. The women's choir then presents an alternation of traditional American melodies and works of contemporary choral music by John Rutter, one of the most important living composers of choral and church music, who is characterised by his extraordinary melodic ingenuity and combines influences from a wide variety of eras and cultures. From the feather-light compositions of Eric Whitacre and Daniel Elders to the eponymous Flight by the American musical composer Craig Carnelia and the monumental film music of Ennio Morricone, the poignant beauty of contemporary choral literature unfolds. For a number of years Musik & Kirche and the Tyrol Museum Association have been collaborating on recordings and CD publications devoted to historically valuable organs found in South Tyrol, some of which are rarely accessible to the public. With Peter Waldner, a well-known organist originally from the Vinschgau, four CDs have already been released. This year's recordings will capture the sound of the organs of the Mariahilf Chapel in St. Andrew's (Brixen), the parish church in Salorno, the collegiate church of Saints Candido and Corbiniano, and the parish church of St. Michael in San Candido. A live concert will also be held at the Mariahilf Chapel in St. Andrew (Brixen) on May 18. Free admission

The LanAntiqua Festival, organised by the LanAntiqua Association, aims to give "early music", which is an inexhaustible source of inspiration, its deserved place in the cultural life of Lana. This music, which is not limited to any epoch, covers the periods from the Middle Ages to Romanticism. The festival's highest maxim is: original sound, i.e. the performance of the music in an appropriate sound setting on instruments of the period and with the knowledge gained from the historical performance practice handed down in treatises. Thanks to imposing venues such as the church Maria Himmelfahrt in Niederlana with its impressive altar by Hans Schnatterpeck and its special acoustics, top-class concert enjoyment is pre-programmed.

Vocal and instrumental works as well as solo and chamber music contributions will be performed. The spectrum ranges from baroque music to classical and romantic music to compositions of our time.

Among all public spaces, the mobile space of buses and trains is a very special one: Here, people from the most diverse backgrounds meet, spend time in close proximity – yet often without any real interaction. Digital devices enhance this distance by wrapping each individual in a bubble of isolation. The art project Music To Go, conceived by Hannes Hölzl and Magdaléna Kobzová, focuses precisely on this: It aims to break open these bubbles for a day and bring train passengers out of their isolation – an exceptional day in public transport. The intervention introduces a practice to South Tyrol that is part of the cityscape in other parts of the world: music in the train car. For one day, musicians will accompany the train ride from Bolzano to Lana, turning the public space of local transport into a stage for collective experience. The participating musicians are: Laki Colombo Gabrelli, Geschwister Karnutsch, Nico Platter, Trio Samén, and Nartan Savona. Hannes Hölzl is a musician and media artist. His fields of work include algorithmic compositions, live performances, sound installations, and radio pieces. Magdaléna Kobzová is a cultural worker from South Tyrol with roots in Slovakia. For over two decades, she has been conceiving artistic encounters, workshops, and exhibitions.

Under his alter ego Lois Lane, Alexander Ebner has created a playground where his techno spirit synergizes with his punk attitude. He produces more sophisticated music without following any guidelines or respecting boundaries. In his DJ set at the town square of Lana, he puts genres in the background to develop new dynamics of togetherness.

Music for the little ones! We want to bring children closer to classical music from their earliest months, helping them to discover naturally a mysterious world that actually belongs to us from birth. We have devised a season of performances to be enjoyed in the company of the whole family: from opera to interactive concerts, the stage will become an intimate, playful and welcoming space, ready to accompany us on curious musical explorations.

The music bands of the valley have maintained our valuable tradition for decades. They play an important role in the social life of the village and give many young people the opportunity to discover and develop their musical talents. This evening, Calfosch-Corvara music band will perform for its spring concert. During the event photos or video footage may be taken for the purpose of documentation and promotion of the event and the region. The footage may be used and published on websites, on social networks and on media in compliance with the data protection regulations.

On 24 May 2025, the 10th Youth Band Meeting will take place in Völs am Schlern. On this special occasion, youth bands from all over Südtirol will come together to make music and present their skills to the public. A youth band competition is held in the cultural centre Völs, where some youth bands show what they are made of. Parallel to this, short concerts are held on the town square. Food and drinks will be offered from 9.30 a.m. 5.00 p.m.: At the festive conclusion, the young musicians will parade through the village in a small procession, bringing the day to an atmospheric close. The participating youth bands are looking forward to welcoming numerous guests and enjoying a day of music together.
