    Kräuterschlössl herb castle
    Latsch/Laces, Vinschgau/Val Venosta
The herb castle in Coldrano attracts attention from afar. The radiant yellow of the facade seems like a splash of colour, a shooting one, in the midst of large-scale, green and groomed apple orchads. It is indeed a small paradise for the senses, a botanical world of its own. Nature in spades, a sea of blossoms aromatically fragrant, spreads out in the herb garden and lovingly encloses the show garden of the herb castle. However, herbs are not only to be found on the ground at the herb castle, but also at lofty heights. On the roof terrace we have set up a love nest, the love garden. Everything is free accesible to everyone, 7 days a week.
In the herb fields in Coldrano (700m above sea level) and Taufers/Tubres (1.400m above sea level) the herbs are cultivated, harvested, dehumidified and refined into quality products from 3 generations with much diligence and love. In keeping with the ecological cultivated methods of the "Bund alternativer Anbau" (association of alternative growers), plant growth is promoted trough targeted soil cultivation, diversity in cultivation and oragnic fertiliser.
The variety in the fields is as rich as the product selection in the farm shop - a real treasure trove for the environmentally conscious:
-herbs, tea and spice blends, herbal salt, pasta, vinegrads and oil
-honeys and fruit honeys from our own apiary
-fruit spreads, syrups, chocolates and sweets
    -healing oinments, cosmetics and perfume

The farm shop is open 7 days a week, all products are also available online.
Guided tours are available on request with a minimum of 10 participants.

    Winery Röck
    Klausen/Chiusa, Brixen/Bressanone and environs

The Isarco-Eisack Valley is the birthplace of the tradition of the Törggelen outings– hiking up to a farmhouse to enjoy grilled pork, roasted chestnuts, and just-fermented wine. This old tradition arose when the new wine was tasted by farmers and wine merchants between early October and early December. And at the Röck Estate Winery, this tradition has been right at home for a very long time. Along with the year’s new wine or also 750ml bottles from prior vintages, typical dishes and the farm’s own products are served. And no typical Törggelen evening at the Röck Estate Winery would draw to a close without a shot of schnapps or grappa. Konrad Augschöll discovered the passion and tradition of schnapps distilling many years ago, and he has made it a reality with an adventurous spirit.

A typical Törggelen menu at the Röck Estate Winery

    • Cutting board of speck farmer’s bacon from the farm’s own hogs and homemade Graukäse aged Tyrolean gray cheese from skim milk
    • First course trio (Schlutzkrapfen ravioli, Tyrolean Knödel cheese dumplings and spinach dumplings) or barley soup
    • Meat plate (cured pork, homemade sausage, grilled pork ribs, sauerkraut) and potato fritters
    • Sweet Villanders fritters with poppy seed, walnut, plum, lingonberry, or apple filling
    • Roasted chestnuts
    • Shot of schnapps

2 dining rooms, holding 15 or 30 people
Opening hours: Late September to Early December (Thu.-Sun.)

The Röck Estate Winery is situated on the slopes of Villanders Mountain, in the northernmost winegrowing zone of Italy, the Isarco-Eisack Valley, which is internationally renowned for its white wines. As an estate winegrower in Alto Adige-South Tyrol, Konrad Augschöll works 3 hectares (7 acres) and produces typical Isarco Valley varieties on sandy soils mixed with slate. With the winegrowing, particular attention is paid to sustainable measures of care in order to bring healthy and ripe grapes into the winery.

    Distillery
    Distillery Unterthurner
    Marling/Marlengo, Meran/Merano and environs

In our family distillery, we transform the very best of ingredients from South Tyrol into the heights of excellence. Pears from Marlengo, stone pine from the Villandro Alp and pomace from the vineyards around Merano. Over the past 75 years, we have become experts in the art of distilling. Having brought this experience together with a sensitive touch and love for experiments, we create spirits that are overflowing with charisma. Their quality begins with the fruit tree, the vineyard and the herb garden. And from this point onwards we accompany our ingredients with a vigilant eye, right up to the moment it goes into the bottle. With our manual work and constant monitoring, quality is always at the forefront of our minds. Because it is the subtle nuances that give our brandies, spirits and liqueurs their character.

In 1947 Ignaz Unterthurner produced the first spirits in the Priami Manor in Marlengo. Stephan and his wife Renate have now brought our story into its third generation. We have modernised it with the greatest of sensitivity and care. Everything that we distil in the clear glass cube is available in our atmospheric vaulted shop. Our range counts over 60 spirits, in all categories: brandies, liqueurs, grappa, digestifs, gin and rum. We have not yet exhausted all the possibilities of distilling. We remain curious.
