The feast of the town in Ferrara of Braies Valley is organized on the pre-last weekend of October. On Saturday is positioned the "Kirtamichlbam" (the traditional tree) by the no-married young boys. In the evening is organized the "Kirtaball" (dance party) with a DJ and traditional music. On Sunday the day begins with a good Bayern breakfast with "Weißwurst" and beer. Typical dishes are served for lunch. In the afternoon the "Kirtamichl" is taken off and around it you can listen live music: in the end you can win the traditional "Kirtamichlbam".

When there is an aroma of roast chestnuts on Schlossweg, glasses are filled with delicious wine and the local societies serve up autumnal treats, that means it's Schlossweg Festival time in Dorf Tirol. Take a leisurely walk between the stalls, enjoy the colourful autumnal landscape and celebrate rural traditions and customs with us. If the weather is bad the festival doesn't take place.

8th Krampus show run of the ‘Tartscher Bichl Tuifl’ The time has come, the sun is setting and the time of the spooky creatures begins. The Krampus show run of the “Tartscher Bichl Tuifl” finally takes place again! 40 groups from Austria and South Tyrol will give young and old goosebumps. Date: 15 November 2025 Location: Tartscher Bichl Hill Afterwards there is a Krampus party with various DJs. Food and drink will be provided!

The Group of devils in Villnöss valley organises the traditional Krampus parade. Over 300 Krampus from all over South Tyrol await you. The festival starts at 6.30 pm; the Krampus run begins at 7.30 pm. The route is closed off. Afterwards, after-show party in the culture house of St. Peter with DJ Favy & DJ Markus.

Every year, the traditional St. Nicholas procession takes place in Sterzing on the evening of December 5th. While Knecht Rupprecht and the Moors help St. Nicholas distribute the presents, the “Tuifl” (Krampus) use their rods to keep order. Originally, the custom was used in early winter to scare off threats from the spirits of darkness and frost. The traditional procession begins at 6 p.m. and moves from the north through the old town, across the town square, through the Zwölferturm tower and into the new town. In the afternoon, St. Nicholas makes a number of house visits, during which he is also accompanied by the Tuifl.

Visitors to the Dolomiti Balloonweek can enjoy a hot air balloon flight lasting around half a day (including assembling the balloon, hot air balloon flight, dismantling the balloon, “baptism”). The actual flight takes around an hour depending on wind and weather. A hot air balloon basket has room for two to five persons, including the pilot. The Gsiesertal Lauf is one of the best-known and best-loved ski marathons in the entire Alpine region. It is the second largest ski marathon in Italy, and is held on the 3rd weekend in February in the Val Casies Valley, South Tyrol (Italy). Ever since it was first held back in 1984, this race has never once been cancelled due to weather conditions. In 2021, the event was cancelled for reasons of force majeure (Corona). The event attracts a great deal of international skiers, with a good forty nations at the starting line every year and a great many World and Olympic Champions listed on the roll of honour. In 2026, it will take place at the same time as the ‘Milan-Cortina Olympics’. This is a unique opportunity for all participants to experience some Olympic competitions either in the neighbouring Antholz Valley or in Cortina (distance 35 km) in addition to their own sporting activities. The race runs along two routes, one of 30 km and one of 42 km; the classic race is held on Saturday and the skating race on Sunday. The amateur “Just for Fun” group. with none of the stress of rankings and timekeeping, is also extremely popular, and the programme of events also includes the “Gsiesertal KIDS Run” on Saturday.

The idea for the festival was born in 2015 after the premiere of the light and music show at the Hofburg in Brixen. The first edition of the festival was held in May 2017.
