The Gsiesertal Lauf is one of the best-known and best-loved ski marathons in the entire Alpine region. It is the second largest ski marathon in Italy, and is held on the 3rd weekend in February in the Val Casies Valley, South Tyrol (Italy). Ever since it was first held back in 1984, this race has never once been cancelled due to weather conditions. In 2021, the event was cancelled for reasons of force majeure (Corona). The event attracts a great deal of international skiers, with a good forty nations at the starting line every year and a great many World and Olympic Champions listed on the roll of honour. The race runs along two routes, one of 30 km and one of 42 km; the classic race is held on Saturday and the skating race on Sunday. The amateur “Just for Fun” group. with none of the stress of rankings and timekeeping, is also extremely popular, and the programme of events also includes the “Gsiesertal KIDS Run” on Saturday. 46th carnival parade in Laives/Leifers Themed carnival floats, special dances and choreographies, sweets, fun, and a colorful array of costumes: the grand Carnival parade has become a tradition and an integral part of the community in Laives. Program: 10 am | carnival floats on display along via Kennedy (from the intersection with via Dante to the Eurospar supermarket) 1 pm | start of the parade in via Kennedy, Laives/Leifers 4 pm | arrival of the parade in Pineta/Steinmannwald with subsequent award ceremony with music and refreshments until 6 pm on the piazzetta Don Domenico Penner. A shuttle train will provide free and continuous service on the Laives - Pineta route until the end of the event. In the park at Pineta there will be entertainment for children and a best mask contest will take place. In the event of bad weather, the event will be postponed to Sunday 2nd March 2025. Colourful costumes, children's entertainment, face-painting and carnival doughnuts: all this awaits you at the carnival party in Badia. You are invited to show off your best costumes and spend fun hours with the whole family and friends. During the event photos or video footage may be taken for the purpose of documentation and promotion of the event and the region. The footage may be used and published on websites, on social networks and on media in compliance with the data protection regulations.

Juebia Grassa The Carnival parade starts at 3 p.m. from Hotel Madonna and passes through the entire pedestrian zone to the Parish church square, where prizes will be awarded to the most beautiful masks. The children of the nursery school provide an entertaining children's music programme with dance and music. As barley soup with smoked carré was usually cooked for lunch on Fat Thursday, young people and children would sleep in their neighbours' houses to swap the soup pot with the tasty dish for a pot with an old shoe floating in the water. The Ladin song "Ncuei juebia grassa..." was written for this occasion. In keeping with tradition, barley soup is served on the village square in S. Cristina on Carnival Thursday. All families and friends of carnival are cordially invited to the carnival party on Carnival Thursday: meeting point at 2.30 pm at the playground in Bahnhofstraße, joint carnival procession through Bahnhofstraße to Rathausplatz. There, a sociable and entertaining afternoon for everyone with a show, music, carnival doughnuts and drinks.

Carnival parade in Deutschnofen | Nova Ponente. Start at 2:30 p.m. from the Bar Luise in the direction of the village square, followed by an award ceremony for the best carnival floats and foot troupes. Afterwards party on the village square organized by the sports club.

The Banishing of Winter in Prato allo Stelvio The banishing of winter and the race of the Zussl are ancient traditional customs practiced only in Prato allo Stelvio. Every year at this time, there is a carnival procession and a noisy ritual repeated exactly the same way. On Shrove Tuesday the town’s youth wear white costumes adorned with colored flowers made of paper and large bells, some as heavy as 20 kg, are worn around the waist of the males. The Zussl are dressed in white from head to toe and adorned with colored ribbons and paper pulp flowers. Tied around their waists, they wear large noisy bells, which often weigh over 20 kilos.

Every year on Rose Monday, the Kastelruth Riding Club organizes an extraordinary event together with the ski schools: Night Skijoring! At this event, a skier is pulled by a horse as he races up the piste on skis. Sounds crazy? It is - but in the best possible way! Experience night skijoring under the moonlit sky this Monday, 03.03.2025, from 21:00.

On Shrove Monday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, we invite all children to S. Cristina civic hall to have their faces painted in a fun way. Let's spend a colourful afternoon together in S. Cristina!

Kronplatz, the world-famous winter sports paradise in the South Tyrolean Dolomites, is once again offering an impressive experience for all snow and mountain lovers this season. And this winter, visitors can look forward to a very special event: the longest torchlight descent in the Alps. A truly magical spectacle that combines skiing, light and fire in one unforgettable night. The event takes place at the Olang 1+2 valley station in Gassl and combines two spectacular elements: the traditional torchlight descent, which illuminates the snow-covered slopes with a multitude of glowing torches, and an innovative laser show, which adds a futuristic touch to the Alpine landscape. The contrast between the warm glow of the torches and the clear night sky creates a breathtaking atmosphere. The big show is also presented and accompanied by music.

Children's carnival with "rodscha und tom", fun & games at the village square of Seis. HAPPY JUNGLE SHOW - “Rodscha from Cambodia and Tom Palme" present a unique concert experience for the whole family. Famous scenes from their animated films are accompanied live by exciting interactive songs. Rodscha and Tom's animal friends, Artis, Ze-Ra, and Karri, life-sized figures, appear on stage for dance performances. Dive into the wonderful world of "Rodscha and Tom" and experience an engaging participatory adventure. In the show, there is singing, dancing, clapping, and guessing. Fun, interaction, and a strong connection with the audience are guaranteed.

The big carnival procession moves through the village of Welschnofen | Nova Levante again! For the 58th time on Tuesday, 04.03.2025 the carinical procession "Fasching in Schuffa" takes place! The procession starts punctually and according to old tradition at 3.03 p.m. in Rosengartenstraße | Via Catinaccio and leads along Karerseestraße | Via Carezza and Romstraße | Via Roma to the house of the village community. There the Welschnofen | Nova Levante music band will provide delicious food, colourful drinks and the best music for a foolish carnival celebration. Programme: 3.03 p.m. - Start of the parade - Rosengartenstraße | Via Catinaccio. 4.00 p.m. - Arrival at the house of the village community and carnival celebration with the party band. From 10.00 p.m. - Carnival party with DJ until late into the night.

Lasa is not only known for its marble, the historic sloped railway and the healthy cabbage, but also for the creativity in the carnival season. The merchants and restaurateurs always come up with something "crazy" idea - and every second year the traditional Lasa Carnival parade takes place. You can, should, of course, very like to come as a "masked" to Lasa and enjoy until late in the evening .

The Saslong Ski School organizes a spectacular ski show on 04.01.2024, 08.02.2024 and 07.03.2024 on the Palmer slope. On 08.02.2024 there will be a Carnival Ski Show. All are cordially invited. Free admission.

Dolomites Dirndl Ski Day Val Gardena has decided to celebrate Women’s Day on the 8th of March 2024 by hosting an exciting and colourful sport event. The Women’s parallel slalom will see all participants wear a ‘dirndl’ (a traditional South Tyrolean dress). Participants will meet at the Baita Daniel on the Seceda, where the race will take place. After the race, Women's Day will be properly celebrated with a party at Café Val d'Anna. Info & registration at the Tourist Office Ortisei.

Revensch is the successful band of South Tyrolean singer and saxophonist Helga Plankensteiner and pianist Michael Lösch. Klezmer, Balkan grooves, Dixieland, funk, and 1920s chansons are skillfully transformed into unique arrangements and performed with great enthusiasm. Revensch has already played at numerous festivals from the Alps to the Mediterranean, such as Dolomitskijazz, Südtirol Jazzfestival, Lana Meets Jazz, Garda Jazz, Projazz Festival, PercFest Laigueglia, Venetojazz, Trentinoinjazz, Most und Jazz, Murszene Graz, and many more.

This 6-piece band arrange and perform well-known mountain-choir pieces including La Valsugana, La Villanella and Entorno al Foc, and folk songs of the Trentino region (e.g. I Canederli) in the purest of American style: All the light-hearted fun, energy, innovation and entertainment of country music and a touch of heart-wrenching emotion – showing us, once again the kinship of affinity shared by folk music the world over.

BandaStorta is an audacious ensemble in which every member gives free rein to his artistic imagination. BandaStorta was created by eclectic minds and distorted souls who find their natural balance in arrangements overflowing with the flair and flavour of a circus performance.

In March, the ski slopes and mountain tops of the Seiser Alm will reverberate with sweet melodies. Six days long, amid dazzling sunshine and snow-capped mountains, skiers and snowboarders, as they glide across the slopes, will be able to enjoy sweet melodies and dynamic rhythms provided by accomplished musicians. "Swing on Snow" is an opportunity to listen to and enjoy authentic Alpine folk music – with the emphasis on "authentic". The bands play on the various ski slopes on the Seiser Alm in the morning, at lunchtime they perform in the mountain huts of the Seiser Alm and in the evening the villages of Castelrotto, Siusi, Fiè and Tires host atmospheric after ski concerts. The concerts are free of charge and there is no seat reservation needed. During the WinterMusicFestvial musical enjoyment combines perfectly with skiing. The 17th edition of Swing on Snow will take place twice over three days from 13.03.-15.03.2025 and from 19.03.-21.03.2025.
