In September, Last Summer Glow invites you to an atmospheric evening that celebrates the end of summer in a unique atmosphere. Under twinkling fairy lights and warm candlelight, surrounded by natural decorations, cocktails, selected red and white wines and fresh juices are served. Small culinary highlights round off the experience for guests. An evening full of relaxation and enjoyment that celebrates the gentle transition from summer to autumn in a stylish and harmonious way.

Traditional costumes are accompanied by lively music and culinary specialities. During the festive procession, holidaymakers and locals can admire the autumnally decorated floats, traditional folk groups and music bands as they parade through the streets of the village.

The return of the herds from summer pastures in the Tel high mountain valley is appropriately celebrated at the Nasereit Alpine shelter, in accordance with the old farming tradition.

The legendary Schupfenfest in San Genesio is a rustic gastronomic festival that enthuses locals and tourists alike. The festival offers the opportunity to combine the pleasure of a beautiful hike in the alpine pastures with the enjoyment of traditional South Tyrolean specialities in mountain huts. The itinerary allows visitors to stop along the way at various 'Schupfe', or huts in South Tyrolean dialect, between San Genesio and Meltina, sampling various typical specialities, from the inevitable farmer's snack to dumplings, Strauben and other sweet pancakes. Of course, there is no shortage of good music or company. So, off to the Schupfenfest in Jenesien, possibly in traditional costumes: lederhosen and dirndl!

Today Badia celebrates the traditional "segra dl paisc", a festival for the whole village! The day begins with a solemn mass in the church, followed by the traditional cattle homecoming at 3.00 p.m. Of course, there are also culinary specialities and musical entertainment. Join our village festival too! During the event photos or video footage may be taken for the purpose of documentation and promotion of the event and the region. The footage may be used and published on websites, on social networks and on media in compliance with the data protection regulations.

Every year in September, the traditional Gsieser Almhüttenfest (Val Casies Mountain Pasture Festival) takes place in the Val Casies Valley, a highlight that attracts many hiking enthusiasts every year. The festival takes place alternately in the villages of Colle, S. Martino or S. Maddalena to give the many visitors the opportunity to get to know the numerous alpine pastures and the mountain world of the Val Casies Valley. This year the associations of Colle organise the traditional 37° Val Casies Mountain Pasture Festival on the Gallfallalm in San Martino. Rustic folk music & children programme. Performance of the "Gaslkrocha" of Tesido. A unique and unforgettable celebration to end the summer in Val Casies Valley.

When summer slowly draws to a close, the farmers bring their cows, calves, and sheep down from the mountain pastures. The reception in the valley is a celebration for everyone! Start of the festival at 10.00 am Arrival of the animals in Maiern at 11.30am At the end of September, the animals return from their summer retreat. After months of gorging themselves on lush Alpine meadows and recharging their batteries in the sun for the winter, cows and calves, sheep, and lambs migrate from the mountain to the valley. There, the numerous spectators await the festively decorated animals. But only with traditional music, in good company, and South Tyrolean specialities is the Alpine transhumance complete. Enjoyment and fun are well taken care of!

The horseracing weekend also comprises other competitions of international importance, such as the Price of Nations (which is linked to the Crystal Cup) on September 27th, whilst the main event, the 86th Meran South Tyrol Grand Prix will be held on September 28th. Meran’s Racecourse will offer a richly diverse culinary programme, including a tasty preview of the Merano WineFestival.

At the end of September, it’s that time again – the village of Colle in Val Casies Valley invites you to the traditional Keila Kirschta! The festivities kick off on Saturday with the ceremonial raising of the Kirschta Michl tree, followed by a lively evening with live music and a fantastic atmosphere in the festival tent. The highlight of the weekend is Sunday’s grand parade and cattle drive. Beautifully adorned animals, magnificently decorated festival wagons, and the solemn procession of marching bands turn the village into a vibrant stage of tradition and culture. Enjoy delicious Tyrolean specialties and a fun-filled children's program – a festival for the whole family!

Sunday, September 28th, starting at 10:00 AM, the Marling's Music Group invites you to their traditional "Törggelen" Festivity at the Marling fairground! 🎉 Look forward to a selection of delicious South Tyrolean specialties! Program: Starting at 10:00 AM, morning pint with Bohemian music and the youth music group "Musig Unlocked" (young musicians from Algund, Gratsch, Tscherms, and Marling). Afterwards, from 2:00 PM, "Törggelen" afternoon with another live music group. The Marling Music Group is excited to welcome you and treat you to delicious food! 🌟

At 10.30 a.m. the feast starts with the celebration of the word and the blessing of the cattle at the cross Schnaggen. Afterwards the festivities begin with musical entertainment by the "Oachner Böhmische". Food and drink are well provided. Enjoy fresh farmer's Krapfen directly there. There will also be entertainment for children and the Oachner Goaßlschnöller.

Autumn days in Tramin …enjoy the golden autumn! The South Tyrolean Wine road changes into a colourful sea of vineyards and orchards. The farmers are in their heyday and the harvest gets taken in. Soon the barrels will be full, the fermentation of the popular juice from the grapes doesn’t take long to begin. Now the “Neue” new wine can be sampled, the most important moment of the year for the farmers. And celebrated it will be. How the new wine tastes – that will be found out by the people of Tramin and its guests during the traditional Autumn Days Tramin at the latest, which are always at the end of October. People of all age groups meet at the festival area that is richly decorated with lots of harvest products for a joyful festival. The “Neue” new wine and wines from Tramin get sampled; and along with this there are hearty South Tyrolean specialities. And all of the colourful shenanigans at the festival area are accompanied by the colourful and melodious performances of folk music groups. From Vinschger Paarlen rye bread and Puschtra Breatlan farmers’ bread to Schüttelbrot flat bread, country-style baked goods have always been an important part of life in Brixen. Traditional transhumance with entertainment and folk music. Back home, this is the ideal reference for livestock, including cows, horses, sheep and goats after a summer spent on the Alpe di Siusi returning to their stables. The transhumance accompanied by a celebration takes place on the Saturday just before the feast of the harvest. This year the event takes place on 4th October 2025. Accompanied by bells and wreaths the animals inhabit the area of Compaccio at 10am. The colourful herd consisting of 250 animals, some carts and some classic-style tractors will leave the Alpe di Siusi at this very time.

Traditional Transhumance with Festivities and Folk Music. In October, it’s time for the cattle, horses, goats, and sheep that spent the summer on the Seiser Alm to return to the valley. On the Seiser Alm, the Transhumance is traditionally celebrated on Rosary Saturday, the Saturday before the Harvest Festival. Starting at 10:30 a.m., cows adorned with flower wreaths and bells fill the streets of Compatsch. The colorful herd of around 250 cattle, sheep, horses, and goats, along with decorated carts, then heads towards the valley and Kastelruth around midday. Festivities on the Seiser Alm in Compatsch begin at 10:00 a.m. with commentary - the „Goasslschnalzern“, alphorn players, the dance group „Alpler Plattler Gitschen“, the brass band "St. Martin in Thurn", the music group "Schlernblech", a farmers' market, and demonstrations of old farming crafts. Food and drink will be provided. Festivities in Kastelruth start at 10:00 a.m. with commentary - For many years, it has been a tradition to celebrate the return from the Alm with music, dancing, food, and drink. The Farmers' Buffet and the Hunting Association of Kastelruth will provide refreshments at the entrance to Kastelruth, along the beautiful promenade. The Alphorn players, the Garner „Schuhplattler“, the „Goasslschnalzer“ and the musical group „Schlernwind“ will provide entertainment. The festive procession with the animals and their handlers is expected to arrive in Kastelruth around 1:30 p.m. We recommend that you watch the entire Transhumance from the Seiser Alm to Kastelruth, as not all animals make it to Kastelruth. Some farmers take their animals to their farms before reaching Kastelruth. You can easily reach the Seiser Alm with the Seiser Alm Cable Car from Seis am Schlern. On this special day, you can use the Seis-Seiser Alm Cable Car at a special price of €14.00 (round trip)! Buses no. 3, 3A and 172 run between the Seiser Alm cable car and Kastelruth. Please note the road closures: after a certain time, no buses will run to Kastelruth, so you may need to travel to Telfen and walk from there to Kastelruth. Tour buses can reach the Seiser Alm before 9:00 a.m. Since the road will be closed for return traffic until 2:00 p.m., tour buses can only drive down after 2:00 p.m. Alternatively, tour buses can park at the Seiser Alm Cable Car station, and guests can reach the Seiser Alm by cable car. In Kastelruth, tour buses can drop off guests at the bus station and then park at the "Tirlerhof" parking lot, 1 km away. Please pay attention to road closures.

Thanksgiving Day in Kastelruth is an annual event where the people of the community express their gratitude for a successful harvest year. On the day of the celebration a Holy Mass is held, followed by a procession through the streets of the village. The procession starts at the church and goes through the streets of Kastelruth, while the villagers sing their harvest songs. At the end of the procession, the congregation gathers in the village square, where our local parish priest concludes the Mass and gives God's blessing to all those present.

A special event awaits you at the cattle drive in St. Zyprian on the Platzliner meadow! The festivities start at 11:00 am, and around 1:30 pm, the beautifully decorated cattle will return from the alpine pastures to the valley – a colorful spectacle that brings tradition and culture to life. There will be lively music and entertainment, and of course, delicious regional specialties to satisfy your appetite. The farming associations of Tiers am Rosengarten look forward to welcoming you in great numbers for an unforgettable day together!

On Sunday, October 5, from 10:00 to 18:00, the traditional "Törggelen" festivity of the Marling folk dance group will take place on the Marling fairground. Food and drink will be provided. The morning pint starts at 10 a.m. Hearty traditional Törggelen with delicious roasted chestnuts and a glass of sweet wine are served from midday onwards. A youth band and a music group will provide atmospheric entertainment. You can look forward to a convivial Törggelen afternoon. The Marling folk dance group is looking forward to seeing you!

At 10.00 a.m. the cattle will be decorated at the Malga Tuff from where they will be driven to Fiè. They will arrive at Fiè at approximately 11.30 a.m. or 12.00 p.m. At 1.00 p.m. there will be benediction of the cattle followed by a festival at the festival place Völs.
