Our apple farmer accompanies you through the apple meadows and tells you interesting facts about the diverse fruit. With a lot of manual work and great passion, the grapes are gently processed and wines full of character are produced.

ONLY IN GERMAN AND ITALIAN! Around the beehive, many garden and wild herbs grow, such as sage, thyme, rosemary, wormwood, plantain, ground elder, yarrow, and nettle. Herbal drinks are made from these plants, with herbal expert Brigitta Patzleiner explaining the beneficial properties of each herb. Afterwards, the drinks can be sampled. In addition, three take-home products are made together: a calendula salve or lip balm, an herbal salt, and an herbal liqueur. Herbs are so valuable because all their components, such as minerals, vitamins, and nutrients, correspond to the elements of the human body. This allows them to be easily absorbed and transported within the body to where they are needed. For example, a green rosemary drink stimulates circulation, provides energy, activates the brain, and improves concentration and memory. The ancient Greeks already knew this: students would wear a rosemary wreath during exams. Today, this effect has also been scientifically proven.

Discover the story of the South Tyrolean apple in Merano! This apple tour of Merano's fruit cooperative CAFA will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about our local fruit. After a short introductory film, you can explore the entire cooperative in the company of our apple expert Franz and follow the storage, sorting, packaging and shipping of the South Tyrolean apple. Our apple expert will let you in on all kinds of secrets about our apples' goodness, the varieties and how best to store them at home. To round off the tour there is a brief apple tasting session. Come by and experience the taste of nature. All these products have been produced and are being sold by the local farmers themselves. In a matter of fact South Tyrol enjoys of a very good reputation as far as the production of quality products is concerned. Thanks to the accurate cultivation methods and the strict hygenic regulations there is no doubt that these goods are of the highest quality and of the best taste.

He describes his philosophy, the self-sufficient concept of the farm and the clever combination of his mainstays: these range from farm vacations and the production of green energy to South Tyrolean mountain meadow hay. Learn all about organic mountain meadow hay, from harvesting to its versatile use as cushions, hay beds, wallpaper, lampshades, flooring, liqueur and even gin. After the farm tour, you can make your own hay cushion as a “hay light” and taste the farm's own products. Next, we continue to "Kurzhof": Discover, together with farmer Oswald, how a traditional grain mill works. Final stop at “Hoferhof”: Let host Stefan introduce you to the art of bread baking and enjoy a delicious, traditional lunch with a hearty “Marendbrettl” with freshly baked farmhouse bread and homemade specialties. The sunny mountain slope from Bozen up to the Ritten is one of the finest wine-growing areas in South Tyrol. Along the wine steps, the 10 artistic installations offer a fascinating glimpse into the culture of wine production. From Signat the trail leads downhill through the gently rolling vineyards to the viewing platform with its magnificent views of Bozen, then on to the Loosmannhof, to the settlement of St. Justina and down to Rentsch in the historic wine-growing estate of Ansitz Waldgries. The same route leads back uphill from Bozen to Signat.

Get up early to enjoy the peace of morning while out hiking. What could be better than enjoying the peace and quiet of morning in the mountains? During the guided hike from St. Zyprian to the Tschafon mountain hut, a breathtaking view of the Rosengarten massif and the surrounding Dolomites awaits you. In the cosy family-run Tschafon mountain refuge you will enjoy a special mountaineer breakfast with regional products from South Tyrol, before the hiking guide Michaela takes you back to the starting point. If you want to enjoy the spring nature a little longer, you can extended the tour to the cross on the Völsegg Peak/Monte Balzo (approx. 25 min) and hike than back to St. Zyprian.
