From the Provincial Mining Museum in Maiern/Ridnaun, trail no. 9 takes us on a relaxed, leisurely hike to the entrance of the wild Burkhardklamm gorge. At the waterfall, we breathe in the finely atomized aerosol of the Fernerbach stream, and the invigorating effect of these healing drops is immediately noticeable. You will experience the health-promoting effect that our scientific study at the Paracelsus Salzburg Private University has shown. We find peace and relaxation by becoming aware of nature with all our senses. With Kneipp treatments, we also let the calming power of the forest work its magic on us on the way back.

The Val Casies farmers' and crafts market offers exclusively regional products from local farms and small artisan workshops. Here, you can find a diverse selection of honey, organic meat, speck and sausages, free-range eggs, pasta, organic goat cheese, dairy products, organic flours and more. In addition to culinary delights, the market features wooden decorations, handwoven rugs, table linens, gift items, handmade children's clothing, jams, juices, pottery, herbal products, textile crafts, and intricate lacework. In the event of unfavourable weather, the event will be held in the festival hut "Interessetschaftshütte Ribisen". A charming market that highlights the diversity of regional products and the craftsmanship of local artisans.

Every year on the second Sunday after Corpus Christi, the traditional Sacred Heart mountain fires light up all over South Tyrol. Symbolizing a deep connection to the homeland, this tradition dates back to the Sacred Heart Vow of 1796, when the Tyroleans entrusted their land to the Sacred Heart of Jesus to seek divine assistance. In Val Casies Valley, the impressive fires – Christian symbols in the form of crosses, hearts, inscriptions, and beacons along the mountain ridges – can be beautifully admired from the valley. Particularly stunning is also the illumination of houses in the valley, with lovingly crafted window images and glowing signs on historic farms – a unique experience that brings tradition and faith to life.

Beacons across the mountains. Even today, in early summer the mountain tops are ablaze with beacons to commemorate a solemn religious bond entered into by the Tyroleans in a time of emergency. The refuge lights a Sacred Heart fire at the Rittner Horn around 8.30 p.m., dinner on reservation tel. +39 0471 1550602. In 1511 the Habsburg Emperor Maximilian I granted the Tyroleans special privileges. As part of the so-called “Landlibell” agreement the principle was established that in times of war the Tyroleans would not have to involve themselves beyond their regional borders. In return they were to be responsible for their homeland’s own defence. As the Napoleonic troops advanced closer and closer to Tyrol from northern Italy in 1796 the province prepared for war. The Tyrolean Landstände or Estates General – representatives of the nobility, the clergy, middle classes and peasants – assembled at a congress in Bolzano/Bozen in order to confer on a plan of action. Once all measures had been decided on Abbot Sebastian Stöckl of Stams suggested entrusting the province to the protection of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and so obtain divine help. On 1st June 1796 the solemn promise was made to celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart henceforth each year with a ceremonious Mass. The bond was first acknowledged by the lighting of beacons on the mountains 80 years later.

Strudel show: The apple strudel is one of the South Tyrolean specialties. The confectioner Christian from the Ahrntal valley shows his special tricks to make this delicacy a success. With him, the workshop will be an enjoyable experience.

Picnic in the most beautiful places in Niederdorf Villabassa, in the middle of the Dolomites Tuesdays to Fridays Enjoy an idyllic picnic amidst the breathtaking Dolomites. The filled picnic basket can be reserved through the Tourist Info. It can be picked up from 9 am and returned within 6 pm of the same day or the next morning at 9 am. The picnic basket is filled with local products: bread, cheese, sausages, pastries and fruit from Villabassa and the surrounding area. The basket also contains a reusable glass bottle, which you can use to fill up with fresh water at the public fountains. (Vegetarian option on request). "The early bird catches the worm"! The well-known saying takes on a whole new meaning during a sunrise hike to the mountain Fleckner (2,336 m). Admittedly, it takes some motivation to get out of bed so early, but early risers are rewarded. Join us when the first rays of sun touch the top of the mountains, the light illuminates the majestic mountain landscape of the Passeiertal Valley and let yourself be enchanted by the unique panorama. The hike will be in German and Italian. After the descent, we fortify ourselves at alp Jaufen Alm with a mountain breakfast featuring local products. Walking time: ca. 2 hours (there & back) | difference in altitude: 340 m

This event will not be held in English. During the nature walk,you will learn the effect of the herbs and their healing properties. At the end of the hike you can enjoy a delicious snack made from the herbs you have collected together.

Kaiserschmarrn is good! Cooking it is really easy, as long as you keep a few tricks in mind. In this cookery course, farmer Brigitte from Avelengo reveals the recipe for a delicious Kaiserschmarrn and shows children the tricks to achieve a fluffy result on the plate, so that they can easily recreate it at home. With Brigitte, you will not only learn the recipe for the original South Tyrolean Kaiserschmarrn, but you will also have a special farm experience, as farm products, such as eggs, are harvested fresh from the henhouse! Parents are of course also very welcome can graze a little bit of the tasty Kaiserschmarrn. In the event of bad weather, the tour will not take place. The herb experts invite you to engaging workshops at the farmers' market in Welschnofen. Every week, new topics await you – from the healing power of herbs and natural remedies to their creative use in the kitchen. Whether you're interested in medicinal herbs, traditional herbal medicine, or culinary wild herbs, you'll find the perfect topic for you. In this workshop with herb expert Renate, you'll learn which wild herbs are best suited for a salad and what valuable properties they have. Together, we will prepare a delicious wild herb salad, which we will then enjoy in a friendly atmosphere. As a small souvenir, you can take home your handmade herbal product from the workshop. The original South Tyrolean apple strudel is baked together with the farmer's wife of the 737-year-old Schildhof farm - with shortcrust pastry and without pine nuts. The ingredients, tricks and tips will be explained. A nut strudel made from yeast dough is also made together. While the strudels bake in the oven, we enjoy a vegetable strudel together, accompanied by fresh tomato salad from the garden. Finally, the dessert is served warm from the oven.
