    Winter hiking in South Tyrol

    During winter hikes on groomed trails, you will get to know South Tyrol's quiet side. Discover enchanting viewing points in the Dolomite mountains, snow-covered forests in quiet side valleys in the Kronplatz region and enjoy nature by yourself in complete silence. On snow shoes, you travel away from the ski slopes and lifts into untouched forests. This is how snowshoe hiking and winter hiking becomes a true experience.

    Hike along the Sun Trail in Stuls/Stulles

    Signposted as „Sonnenrundweg“ trail (Sun Path), this simple 1 hr. 45 min. hiking circuit crossing over sunny slopes and through shady woods leads off the parking lot near the church. In winter the wooded sections are ideal for snowshoe hiking.

    The trail is not suitable for pushchairs.

    Winter hike to Cislon Alm
    Truden/Trodena, Bolzano/Bozen and environs
    We start on the top of  village and follow for 300 m nr.3. Then we choose nr. 1 and arrive during the large street with good hiking shoes the Cislon Alp (1250m). During the winter it's open from Thursday to Sunday! Then we follow the nr. 2 till a sharp right hand bend (Hochwand) and leave the nr.2. We follow the street till the "Jägerkreuz" and turn down back to the point where we started. Attention: after the Cislon Alp you should have snow shoes for the trip!

    Winter hike from La Val to the Santa Barbara church

    The little church of Santa Barbara, dating back to the 15th century, on the hills above the village of La Val in Alta Badia, is located in a very panoramic location. The inhabitants of this place still have very vivid memories of the history of the Lords of Rü: some centuries ago they buried money and precious jewellery near the church.     Winter walk: San Vigilio - Tamersc - Pederü
    Al Plan/San Vigilio, Dolomites Region Kronplatz/Plan de Corones

    The stroll begins on Str. Fanes: Walk through the Pes-Pesc playground, then continue along the paved dirt road parallel to the cross-country skiing slope (pedestrians: please keep off the slope) until just before you reach the Ciamaor sports grounds. The forest trail will take you to Ciamaor (to the left of the football pitch). Having passed the Ciamaor bridge, keep left and continue along the picturesque trail until you get to Lé dla Creda. Continue along the main road until you reach the Tamersc fields and, after 3 km, the Pederü mountain inn.

    From Ranui via trail no. 33 to Zans. Continue via trail no. 36 to hut Glatschalm (in winter open on weekend) and via 36B towards hut Dusler Alm (in winter open Sundays). Continue a bit further via 36B until you reach a junction. There via 34/34B back to the starting point.

    Winter hike in snowy Trafoi

    This short winter hike from Trafoi to the Weisser Knott restaurant gives hikers the opportunity to take in the first few hairpin turns on the legendary Stilfserjoch pass road. It is essential to check the weather and avalanche conditions before departure as the road features a number of exposed sections.

    Winter hiking trail to Rossalm
    Brixen/Bressanone, Brixen/Bressanone and environs
    You start directly from the top station of the Plose cable car. Right next to the sun terrace of La Finestra restaurant, the trail leads as a shared trail past the Gasthof Geisler to the crossroads with the ski slope. Immediately after crossing the ski slope you decide whether to take the upper trail or the somewhat more demanding lower trail. Both paths are regularly prepared and lead slightly uphill for about 2.5 km to one of the most popular huts in the entire Plose area. The lower path climbs a little steeper at the end and is very suitable for snowshoe hikers.
    Hike through a fairytale winter landscape to the Rossalm, one of the most beautiful ski huts in South Tyrol.  The way back is along the same route or alternatively you can choose one of the two alternatives.  The hike is also suitable for snowshoes.

    From Villabassa pass the parish church and follow the slightly ascending Eggerberg road after the hairpin bend next the „Brandhäusl“ (n. 45). There turn left to the forest path and continue until „Thaler“.  The route follows almost flat in the westerly directionuntil the „Kleinsinner“ road and along this way until the „Schöne Aussicht“, 1460 m.
