A culinary day at the Jochele has plenty to offer! The bustle of hard work starts in the hotel kitchen when the cock first crows in the morning. Chef Horst and his team treat fans of South Tyrolean cuisine to typical specialities and international creations. At lunchtime and dinner time, the menu includes a tempting selection of favourite South Tyrolean dishes: home made Schlutzkrapfen, cheese and bacon dumplings with coleslaw, aromatic herb dumplings and Kaiserschmarrn pancakes. If you can’t find something to tickle your taste buds here, then you can’t be looking properly!

Our guesthouse is a farm dating back to the 13th century. For more than 400 years this has been a refuge for guests. Located outside the city in an idyllic landscape, our hotel provides a place of quietness and romance. Everything here is genuine and natural. In our restaurant or in the antiquity pine barrack room from the XVII century you can celebrate your wedding, birthday or family celebration.

Initial approach is from Valdaora di Sopra (Oberolang): drive to the parking area for tourists (approx. 1,160 m) below the Riedlerhöfe Farms. From there, follow trail markings (No. 20), first along a forest road to Rio Bruns (Brunstbach) Stream. Turn left again at the nearby crossroads, and head through the steep wooded slopes, partly on a forest road and then mostly on a steep footpath, up to a forested ridge. The last segment is a slope crossing, partly flat, over to the Brunstalm pasture and its mountain ??hut (1,898 m; serving food); 2 to 2.5 hours from the starting point. Descent: same as ascent described above or the easier, albeit longer, forest road; 1.5 to 2 hrs.

The ancient inn: The Traube is documented as an inn in texts dating from the 17th century. The Niedermair family, who runs the hotel, has owned the ancient building for the last hundred years. Are you a self catering tourist? Do you prefer a bed and breakfast accomodation? Or is the classical full board your favorite option? No matter what style, the Hotel Traube can fulfill any holiday dream. In the morning, we provide a breakfast buffet. At lunch and at dinner, you may choose between various menus featuring Tyrolean delicacies as well as traditional Italian and international dishes. There are no secrets as to how we come up with our culinary creations, we simply have a clear approach to what makes good food: The use of local, natural, biological products that are fresh and seasonal. Artificial seasonings, additives and processed food are off-limits. We believe that this is the first requirement for an excellent meal. This alone however is clearly not enough. Imagination and creativity are also required- but above all we rely on our chefs special culinary skills and talent. All of this is combined with great hospitality and excellent service. Part of South Tyrolean culture is South Tyrolean warmth; treating our guests comes naturally to us. Nothing has to be forced, as we gain pleasure by satisfying our guests. Every day that ends at our restaurant ends with a real highlight: a wonderful dinner with friends.

The court Obermair Ehrenburg in Kiens, The first written mention of Obermair goes back to 1318 and is thus one of the oldest farms in the area. Initially belonged to the court of the Count Goertz, then the estate was frequently sold, inherited and sold again. Since 1860, guests at the inn run Obermair and already in 1900 the Obermairhof of Falkensteiner family has farmed. As you can see our kitchen pot is filled to the brim ... combined, refined dishes with an occasional touch of the exotic. Just the "magic of the diversity of South Tyrol".

Every evening our chef prepares a royal dinner for our guests who make their own choice of five courses with salad buffet, alternating between a gala dinner and Tyrolean specialities. Our chef and restaurant staff all do their best to provide a perfect service for our guests. In the morning we offer you a healthy breakfast with a choice of fresh bread, tea corner and free range eggs from local farmers. A selection of excellent wines will accompany you through the evening and to finish a delicious meal there is nothing like a sip of our top quality Schnapps.
