On occasion of the city’s 1,050th anniversary celebrations in the autumn of 1951, Albuingasse alley was redesigned and a new fountain was erected at the White Tower and inaugurated on 28 October 1951. The bronze figure depicts the patron saint of the Brixen parish church, St. Michael, slaying the dragon.
