The church in Acereto/Ahornach is a wonderful example of the late gothic style in the Pustertal Valley. The stonecutter Valentin Winkler from Falzes had built the church in 1512.
The little church of St. Catherine & St. Florian was built in 1839.
The parish church Riva-Rein was built 1908-1911. You can see the typical characteristics of the new gothic style.
The St. Gertraud Church is documented the first time in 1383.
1831 the curate Johann Nepomuk Schiffer had built the new church. The gothic tower still exists.
In the year 1348, a lay brotherhood founded the Heilig-Geist-Spital hospital in Brixen. It was converted into a nursing home and renamed “Hartmannsheim” in 1914 after the new hospital was built. Thanks to many donations, the Heilig-Geist-Spital hospital became agriculturally self-sufficient. The old fountain basin in the inner courtyard, carved from one single piece of stone, still bears testament to the former agriculture.
“Pröfing” is derived from “grafting” and, in the vernacular, means something like plant refinement. Just as the fruit trees were once refined and furred, today farmer Annemarie lovingly refines the fruits of our farm. In 2014 we decided to farm the Pröfinghof organically. Of course, this also includes biodiversity and so it came about that more and more fruits and vegetables, berries and herbs were planted around our farm. Since 2015 we have also been offering all of these processed treats in the small farm shop!
In our family farm shops we sell: vegetables and fruits of the saison, fruit spread, juices, dried fruit, eggs, and honey from our bees.
We are South Tyrolean drinking water refill point!
