It tastes even better at high altitude: South Tyrolean cuisine is characterized by rural down-to-earthness and Mediterranean lightness. On the mountains, you can enjoy the lovingly prepared dishes made from local products even more with a special view. Here is a selection of places to enjoy great food in an alpine atmosphere.
From our sun terrace the breathtaking mountain backdrop is enchanting, with views of the Sella group, Langkofel and Cir peaks. The hut, which is situated at 2220 metres above sea level, offers a cosy, leisurely atmosphere in its lovingly furnished Tyrolean parlours, plus delicious, stylish food.
The mountain pasture and its rustic hut are situated at an altitude of 1.980 m. The hut offers homemade South Tyrolean delicacies and is known for the staff's hospitality. You reach the hut from Ponticello over the hiking trail n. 18 (time required: ca. 2 hours) or after a short hike from Prato Piazza.

(coming from Vipiteno) Once in Vipiteno continue in the direction of Brennero along the state road (SS12). After about 4 km you reach Colle Isarco. Stay and continue along the state road (SS12) towards Brennero for about 3Km (4min). After 3km you come across a hairpin bend to the right and another to the left. When you reach the hairpin turn to the left, you will see the motorway exit on the right. Next to the exit, take a small paved road and follow it for about 800m. Once you reach the parking lot, continue on foot along the unpaved forest road.
Fresh homemade delicacies await you here, at 1,914 meters above sea level in the beautiful Zerzertal. Whether for lunch or dinner, for a glass of milk or a beer, an ideal stop for body and soul in the summer months.
At the Brugger-Alm there is an place where you can enjoy the alpine cheese, which is made in summer from the milk of about 70 cows, and hearty South Tyrolean food.

The Madritsch Hut is located in Solda, below the Madritsch Pass in the middle of the mountain world around King Ortles. The hut can be reached via the large Solda panoramic cable car to the mountain station at 2,610 m. The family-friendly hiking trail along the summer pasture of Reinhold Messner's yaks takes you to the Madritsch Hut (2,820 m) in around 1 hour. On the sun terrace you will be enchanted by Tyrolean specialties and the breathtaking mountain scenery.
The Madritsch hut, which is typically furnished with wood, was largely rebuilt in 2017 and furnished in a modern style. The kitchen spoils you with traditional South Tyrolean & Italian dishes such as Tyrolean dumplings, Schlutzkrapfen and delicious Kaiserschmarrn.
In the Yak Bar, hot chocolate or coffee awaits you and in Europe’s highest igloo, cool beer, Willi afterwards and great après-ski music await you. Enjoy the unique view of the Ortler Group from the sun terrace.
From the parking area Lago di Braies/Pragser Wildsee along the west coast Lago di Braies/Pragser Wildsee, arrived on the back shore a broad gravel way with the (No. 19) lead to the Malga Foresta/Grünwaldalm.
In the winter time the Malga Foresta hut is closed!
Typical Southtyrol dishes as well as exquisite italian specialities, salads, soup and a great selection of exclusively homemade cakes and desserts. Children of every age are more than welcome in Val d'Anna. You will find many playgrounds where they may have fun and meet new friends.

The Allriss Alm is a rustic and cozy mountain hut located in the upper Pflerschtal Valley in the municipality of Brenner.
Open year-round (closed from April to May and in November), the hut is a popular destination in winter for moonlit tobogganing, and in summer, it offers beautiful hikes for both young and old, with a breathtaking panorama! The hut can be reached from various starting points: from St. Anton in Pflersch, from Ladurns via the "Drei Almen Weg" Trail and also from Sterzing/Rosskopf via the "Dolomieu Weg" Trail (full-day hike).

The Ütia Bioch Refuge 2,079 m boasts a long tradition of Ladin hospitality since 1990. Particularly famous is the renowned Kaiserschmarrn, served here to perfection and a true delight for every palate.
The bright, modern bar furnished with wood invites guests to linger and offers breathtaking views of Sulden and the impressive mountain world surrounding King Ortler. Here, you can unwind after an adventurous hike and fully enjoy the beauty of nature.
The Kanzel Hut is easily accessible via hiking trails No. 5, 11, and 12. Alternatively, you can also conveniently reach the hut by the Kanzel or Rosim (open only in winter) cable car.
