    Pleasure on the mountain

    It tastes even better at high altitude: South Tyrolean cuisine is characterized by rural down-to-earthness and Mediterranean lightness. On the mountains, you can enjoy the lovingly prepared dishes made from local products even more with a special view. Here is a selection of places to enjoy great food in an alpine atmosphere.

    The hut on the Alpe San Silvestro is located at an altitude of 1,800 m and offers stunning views across the valley. The hut offers Tyrolean cuisine from local produce. You can reach the Rifugio Alpe San Silvestro via the Rifugio Lachwiesen (hiking path No. 1A) or via the Valle San Silvestro (turn right after the Ristorante Genziana - hiking path No. 1). From Alpe San Silvestro you can continue your hike to the Rifugio Bonner or the Corno di Fana. Near the Alpine pasture there is the chapel Cappella di San Silvestro, which is well worth seeing. The hut is also easily reached by mountain bike and a good resting place before continuing on the Stoneman trail up to Cornetto di Confine.

Our structure, with its traditional architecture, reflects the authenticity and warmth of Ladin tradition. We offer a bar and a restaurant with a beautiful sunny terrace, perfect for relaxing after summer hikes or winter skiing. Our products are carefully selected to offer you genuine dishes. There are always traditional dishes, but you will also find creations from Michelin-starred chefs and dishes skillfully prepared by our own chefs. You can also discover interesting wine labels in our wine list. In summer, we offer a playground and host animals such as goats, rabbits, chickens, and quails, making the visit even more special for our young guests.     Welcome to Prastmannalm hut! We offer you South Tyrolean specialties and products from own production. You can reach us from Kasern/Casere on a hiking trail or on a paved road (suitable also for mountain bikes, baby strollers and wheelchairs).

    In the cold season you can reach us on a winter hiking trail, on foot or with snow shoes, and on the sunny cross-country track Kasern/Casere.

    The Leadner Alm alpine hut lies in the centre of the hiking and relaxation area of the Tschoegglberg range, above the villages Hafling and Voeran. The alp has a large meadow where you can relax on the grass, and a toboggan run for children in winter. The mountain hiking trails are open also in winter.

    At 3,195 m, the Becherhaus is South Tyrol's highest refuge. The Becherhaus is located in the Ridnaun Valley in the Wipptal on the South Tyrolean side of the Stubai Alps on the edge of the Übertalferner.

    Mühlbach/Rio di Pusteria, Brixen/Bressanone and environs
    The Wieserhütte, idyllically located in the Altfasstal Valley, is a popular destination and a great starting point for hikes to the Seefeld Lakes and other trails. It is particularly family-friendly, easily accessible with strollers or mountain bikes. The hut offers its own dairy products, cozy evening events, and overnight accommodation – but only during the summer season. In winter, the Wieserhütte is open during school holidays, while outside this period there are some closing days to keep in mind. Please note that overnight stays are not available during the winter months. The Wieserhütte can be reached in approximately 90 minutes from the parking area in the Altfasstal Valley.

    This hike starts at the hamlet “Gasse” just before Ridnaun/Ridanna. Follow the signpost “Mareiter Stein” southwards along the asphalted road. Go past the group of farmhouses Entholz/Masi di Ento. From Entholz you go into the forest, turn right at a small stream and follow path no. 24 to a fork, where following the path no. 25B you reach the mountain pasture Kerschbaumeralm. Alternative: reachable also starting from Pratone along the asphalted road and the gravel path. Tip: grey cheese and alpine butter

    The Rifugio Lavaredo is located in the Three Peaks region at an altitude of 2,344 m. The hut offers overnight accommodation and is therefore an ideal stopover for tours of several days. The mountain hut is an easy 20 minute walk from the Rifugio Auronzo on hiking path No. 101. From the terrace you can enjoy stunning views of Marmarole, Cadini di Misurina and Antelao. You can also continue the Around the Three Peaks tour from here.

    The Arnika hut on the Bullaccia/Puflatsch offers walkers, hikers and skiers a friendly place to stop for refreshment.     The newly-built Grünbodenhütte mountain hut is a fully serviced ski refuge, which also offers self-service.     Initial approach is from Valdaora di Sopra (Oberolang): drive to the parking area for tourists (approx. 1,160 m) below the Riedlerhöfe Farms. From there, follow trail markings (No. 20), first along a forest road to Rio Bruns (Brunstbach) Stream. Turn left again at the nearby crossroads, and head through the steep wooded slopes, partly on a forest road and then mostly on a steep footpath, up to a forested ridge. The last segment is a slope crossing, partly flat, over to the Brunstalm pasture and its mountain ??hut (1,898 m; serving food); 2 to 2.5 hours from the starting point. Descent: same as ascent described above or the easier, albeit longer, forest road; 1.5 to 2 hrs.

    Starting point: head valley Val Ridanna - Masseria (1.417m) Start at the gate and follow the asphalted road uphill, very steep at first, then a little flatter after 800m. At the bridge we turn left and follow the signposts to the mountain pasture Moarerbergalm. After the Poschhaus ruin we turn off to the right and hike approx. 200m to the mountain pasture Moarerbergalm.
