Long circular route at Lake Carezza
    Welschnofen/Nova Levante, Dolomites Region Eggental
The fairy tale lake of the Dolomites, Lake Carezza is a colourful lake where, according to legend, a water nymph lives and in whose crystal clear waters the Dolomite giants Latemar and Catinaccio are reflected in the morning and evening. Lake Carezza amazes many visitors! It is also called Lec de Ergobando - rainbow lake.
The 300 m long and 140 m wide Lake Carezza rests below the Latemar massif at the edge of the Latemar forest in the municipality of Nova Levante at the little village of Carezza at 1,520 m in the Val d'Ega. It is a protected natural monument and is fed by underground springs from the Latemar mountain, which is why both its size and its depth are strongly dependent on the season and the weather - the greatest depth of Lake Carezza was recorded at 22 m.

Descent to Luttach via Schöllberg Alm [alpine hut]
    Ahrntal/Valle Aurina, Ahrntal/Valle Aurina

The Speikboden is more than just a favorite ski area. It is also an ideal hiking area. The mountain got its name from a little flower that grows in the high mountains – Alpine valerian, or “Speik” in German – and that is in fact because this lovely flower is often found in the hiking area.

With the cable cars you can reach the "Speikboden Alm" at 2000 metres of altitude or the Sonnklar mountain at 2400 metres above sea level. Both are starting points for fantastic walks and hikes along well maintained trails. Particularly popular are the sunrise walks - to spot the first sunrays while the valley still lies in darkness is a memorable experience.

The trail continues to the Stone Age and Bronze Age with wooden tents and animals. Following the path through the forest you come up to the so-called weather cross where the Roman period is located. Here there is a high tower that can be climbed. Further down again through the forest you come to the Middle Ages with a balance course. Arrived at the sound station, you get back to the present by plane and a small climbing tour. This is where the adventure trail ends.
