The route from Laion over “Noflatsch” to the Troi Paian and finally to Costamula is a somewhat more demanding day hike for the whole family. The Troi Paian is a historical high-altitude trail that leads from the Eisack Valley through the Dolomites to the Venetian Plain.
The start is at the village square of Laion/Lajen (1100m) from where you follow the road towards San Pietro until the butcher's shop. Keeping slightly to the left on the "Bergweg", you reach the path no. 35. After about an hour's walk, you get to the Gspoi Hof (1353m), where the path marking changes for a short time into no. 34 and then turns right into no. 8a. Always following the marking 8a, you reach the Ranatsch Hof with only single ascents and descents. Here starts the historical high trail from the Bronze Age Troi Paian, marked with the No. 8. The high trail is relatively easy to walk. For the most part it is flat with only a few ascents and descents until Costamula. Once there, take bus 356 to Ortisei (Antoniusplatz) where you change to bus line 351 to Laion.
Coming from the north you will reach our region via Munich - Kufstein - Innsbruck - Brenner - Klausen (exit Chiusa / Val Gardena), the SS Val Gardena - at the roundabout in Novale/Ried-Lajen you turn to Lajen/Laion. From here you are within a few minutes in your resort Lajen.
