StilZ Festival is a cultural festival in typical Stelvio village locations, curated by Manfred Schweigkofler and supported by committed citizens. The name is a tribute to the village name as used by the people of Stelvio. The first edition of the StilZ Festival focuses on the heritage of Stelvio. It is about the encounter with this heritage, for example with traumatic experiences, such as the village fire in 1862 or the history of the Korrnr and Swabian children. But also the many beautiful stories that originated in Stelvio and which - in a kind of collective memory - still resonate in the community. Above all, it is the fountain squares and winding narrow streets that run through the village like arteries of water and life - a natural stage set for the artistic performances. The heritage inspires, just as the genius loci of the village inspires. Stelvio invites artists and guests to be impressed by its unique verticality.

The author Paolo Crepaz will present his book entitled "Vivere la montagna" (in Italian language). Six sculptors from all over the world will gather in the Vinschgau Valley to create sculptures, each for themselves and together at the same time. The work material is the crystalline stone that the world appreciates and the locals are proud of: the Vinschgau marble from the quarries in Covelano and Lasa. Two so-called “skaters” from other cultural genres such as literature, music, acting, net art or acrobatics will perform simultaneously in their own way. In the interaction of these eight artists, independent statements will emerge in independent forms of expression that will complement or contradict each other. A wide-ranging supporting programme in the two Vinschgau communities makes the event a highlight in the South Tyrolean event summer.

Cave therapy, known by the technical term of “speleotherapy”, helps relieve chronic and recurring respiratory ailments and is a feature of complementary medicine. As in damp caves, the relative humidity in the climate gallery is close to saturation. Suspended particles and allergens in the air are thus bound together and deposited on the wet rock walls. The gallery therefore contains very pure air. When this cold air (8-10°C) is inhaled it is warmed to the body’s temperature of 37°C. The warmer the air, the more water vapour it can absorb. The gallery air can thus extract water from the mucous membranes on its path through the respiratory system, reducing swelling of the breathing structure and allowing those with respiratory problems to breathe more freely. For seven years now, Südtirol kocht has been touring the province and creating a live cooking show together with chefs and agricultural producers as well as a new point of contact, entertainment and interaction for visitors interested in local food. Nature park Schlern | Sciliar - Rosengarten | Catinaccio: "Multivision-Show " with Valentin Pardeller in german/italian language! The Schlern | Sciliar looks like a huge monolith in front of which the two peaks Santner and Euringer rise into the sky - this image has become the symbol of South Tyrol. The Rosengarten | Catinaccio, on the other hand, presents itself as a seemingly endless sequence of pointed needles and towers; numerous legends and myths surround this rock massif. In this multivision presentation, Valentin Pardeller shows breathtaking images and time-lapse photographs of the spectacular light moods on the Rosengarten, tells you in his authentic, lively way about his experiences photographing golden eagles and chamois, and takes you into the realm of legend of the dwarf king Laurin. On Thursday 4 July, the fourteenth edition of ‘Appuntamento a Merano - Authors in Merano’, the festival of encounters with authors and prominent personalities from the cultural scene, will officially open. In his presentation "Magical Dolomites", Fabian Dalpiaz presents a selection of his most beautiful and magical photographs and short films that bring the magic of the Dolomites to life. He will tell you what is so special about his work and how he made it all the way to London and Florida with his photographs of the starry sky above the Dolomites.
