“LATEMAR – Wild Beauty” Multivision presentation by Valentin Pardeller The Latemar is a striking mountain group on the edge of the Dolomites, known for its wild beauty, unique geology, and cultural richness. In this immersive multivision presentation, Valentin Pardeller captures the essence of this remarkable region through powerful imagery. The story begins with the geological origins of the Latemar, once a coral reef, and explores the old mining tunnels that tell of a long-forgotten past. The Latemar's role as a linguistic boundary is highlighted, along with its dramatic rock formations and distinctive alpine flora. The forest of Latemar is presented as a source of fine tonewood for musical instruments. Finally, the legend of the mermaid of Lake Carezza adds a touch of mystery to this breathtaking landscape. We start the tour with a cultural village excursion. Consumers are offered initial advice and the opportunity to obtain information material on specific topics such as insurance, shopping traps, sunglasses tests, investments, prices, etc. The mobile is on special missions, for example, within the framework of the VZS's consumer information centre.

Stefan Santifaller has taken on this extraordinary adventure twice: first on foot from Portugal to the North Cape – 182 marathons in 182 days – and then back by bicycle. “A journey full of highs and lows, which pushed not only physical but also mental limits,” as he says. In his multivision talk, he shares the physical and mental challenges of this double crossing of Europe and how he developed resilience, self-discipline, and endurance along the way. He speaks about his motivation, what drove him, and the impact such a project can have on a person. He also shows how to turn challenges into opportunities, redefine goals, and pursue long-term projects with passion and determination. The talk will conclude with an open Q&A session, where personal questions can be asked and answered directly. At LUMEN, several of Stefan’s latest works from the series Glacier’s End – A colourful study of our changing existence will also be on display.

The summer mushroom exhibition is organised by the Urania Merano in collaboration with the Bolzano branch "Mykologischen Vereins Bresadola". They expect to be able to exhibit more than 200 species of mushrooms, including some potentially deadly poisonous mushrooms, at the 13th Merano Mushroom Exhibition. This year, a mushroom inspection centre will once again be set up at the mushroom exhibition: On Saturday, visitors can bring their mushrooms to the exhibition and have them identified by an expert. Here, participants can directly specify the date and route of their self-selected tour. The required CleanUP Kit for all those interested, consisting of a recyclable and reusable fabric bag and a pair of stainless steel pliers, can be picked up free of charge at the Tourist Office Olang before setting off.

All participants receive a free CleanUP Kit consisting of a reusable bag and a high-quality stainless steel garbage tong. This kit can be obtained at one of the numerous distribution stations. In their lecture, historians Albert Kamelger and Günther Walder shed light on the events and developments in Niederdorf/Villabassa during the Second World War. Using documents, pictures, and stories, they illustrate how global political upheavals were reflected in the everyday life of the village community. Get out into nature, do something good and meet inspiring people – that’s what awaits you on our CleanUP Tour on Saturday, 20 September, as part of the SÜDTIROL CleanUP Days! Together with the Summit Foundation, we’ll start at the Karer See car park and hike up to Franzin Alm. Along the way, we’ll collect litter and help preserve the beauty of our mountain landscapes. At the hut, we’ll enjoy an inspiring talk by Eleonore Eisath from Eggen. Eleonore is a product designer working on circular packaging solutions – with her project “beworm”, for example, or as Innovation Lab Lead at the Frankfurt-based company MILK. After the talk, we’ll toast together with an aperitif before returning to the car park around 5:00 pm, where we’ll weigh the collected waste. Reading a good book can change our lives, open up new horizons and allow us to engage in dialogue with people who lived in other eras. However, reading plays an increasingly marginal role in our daily lives, which are inundated with commitments and multimedia content. A book, on the other hand, requires time and concentration, which seems to be increasingly difficult for us. Why does it seem so difficult to really devote ourselves to reading? What is the difference between reading a book and consuming online content? Philosophical Café introduced and moderated by Camilla Stirati, graduate in philosophy. The meeting is open to the public and no specific preparation is required to participate, only the desire to question oneself without prejudice.

With pictures and fascinating insights, he shows how these years shaped the region's appearance today. A lecture on change, opportunities, and challenges in a decisive phase of South Tyrolean tourism history.

In autumn, the forest turns into a quiet, fragrant paradise – with mushrooms taking center stage. At Ütia Bioch hut, a special event is dedicated entirely to the fascinating world of fungi. An expert mycologist will guide the experience, accompanied by the live music of Rise o’clock, whose sounds bring the autumn spirit to life.
