On the South Tyrolean Wine Road

The oldest such route in Italy, the South Tyrolean Wine Road winds through expansive vineyards, hilly landscapes, medieval villages, historic estates, forts and castles. It exudes Mediterranean lifestyle against the backdrop of an Alpine mountainscape. Here, you will encounter the autochthonous grape varieties Vernatsch and Lagrein, the native Gewürztraminer and many internationally successful wines. Explore the wine road by hiking and biking, or diving into the Kalterer See lake. Visit traditional and modern wineries and Bolzano/Bozen, the city of wines and South Tyrol’s capital. The South Tyrolean Wine Road is just waiting to be experienced, explored and savoured with all of your senses.
