Alpine and cross-country skiing, and family holidays in South Tyrol

South Tyrol is a real paradise for winter sports enthusiasts: 1,200 kilometres of downhill runs within the Dolomiti Superski and 900 kilometres of perfectly groomed cross-country trails in Dolomiti NordicSki provide excellent conditions for both alpine skiers and cross-country skiers. Beginners, families and advanced skiers will all find something to suit them here – from gentle practice slopes to the legendary Sellaronda circuit. Cross-country skiing enthusiasts can enjoy panoramic trails through snow-covered landscapes, high-altitude trails and well-connected loops in the heart of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

South Tyrol is the perfect place for a family holiday: child-friendly slopes, safe ski lifts, ski schools for the little ones, amusement parks and hotels offering childcare. As well as skiing, you can go sledging across the Alpine pastures, hike amongst the snow-capped peaks or try your hand at snowshoeing. Fun for the whole family is guaranteed.

Your year in the mountains at the South Tyrol/Südtirol Ski Arena

A ski pass for 15 ski and hiking areas and 365 days in the mountains

A snowy landscape, a day off or a holiday planned well in advance. Sometimes that’s all it takes for a winter break. And if you enjoy skiing, there are 15 ski resorts in the Südtirol Skiarena for you to explore. From Vinschgau/Val Venosta through Wipptal to Ahrntal/Valle Aurina, you can carve your turns across a total of 555.7 kilometres of slopes and perhaps discover your next favourite run. As winter slowly draws to a close, your year on the slopes continues in the Südtirol Skiarena. With the Südtirol Ski Pass, you can use the mountain railways all year round. This lets you easily reach hiking trails, alpine pastures and scenic vantage points during the warmer months.

Your winter in the Dolomites

Unique winter attractions amidst bizarre rock formations

The Three Peaks, the Rosengarten, the Sella Group – the Dolomites are truly exceptional mountains. Since 2009, these ‘pale mountains’ have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are many ways to admire the distinctive landscape of the Dolomites in winter: whilst skiing down sun-drenched, panoramic slopes, spectacular World Cup runs and impressive ski circuits, such as the legendary Sellaronda. The entire Dolomiti Superski region comprises 15 ski resorts and offers over 1,200 kilometres of perfectly groomed slopes.

Besides the downhill slopes, winter enthusiasts can enjoy numerous hiking trails, luge runs and cross-country skiing routes – all with views of the majestic peaks. The mountain huts serve delicacies made from regional ingredients, whilst Michelin-starred restaurants also delight food lovers. An unforgettable moment of pleasure? An aperitif on the sunny terrace or the spectacular Enrosadira phenomenon during dinner.
