Hike across borders
The combination of challenging mountain hiking and climbing
From the Cadore area in the province of Belluno, through the South Tyrolean Pustertal valley to the Tyrolean Gailtal valley in Austria, this 108-kilometre high mountain trail covers hiking trails and via ferratas in several daily stages from the Dolomites to the Carnic Alps. Certain paths and trails of the “Dolomites without borders” even head along old wartime trails, military trenches, and galleries, lending this route particular significance as a peace trail, a place of gathering and friendship, and, incidentally, as a sporting experience. High up, with far-reaching views into the distance, free-spirited and from an unfamiliar perspective, the quest to overcome the provincial borders drawn on paper is particularly successful in the mountains.
