Frara is the name of the second part of the Plans-Frara gondola lift. It takes you from the village of Colfosco short above the Gardena pass at the foot of Mount Cir, on the edge of the Puez - Odle natural park. In addition to being a particularly important connection system for the Sellaronda, both in winter for skiers and in summer for mountain bikers, the gondola lift takes you to a first-rate panoramic point: right at the arrival you can see the peaks del Cir and on the opposite side the majestic Sella Group. In summer there are several itineraries for excursions, trekking and via ferrata.
The Gardenacia plateau, on the edge of the Puez - Odle Natural Park, is a typical alpine mountain landscape that offers panoramas of rare beauty. It can be reached both in summer and in winter with the homonymous chairlift starting from La Villa.
In the summer, a freeride MTB track descends from the Gardenacia highplane and numerous excursions leave near the chairlift, some of which are also suitable for families with children. A few minutes from the base station of the chair lift there is also the attack of the via ferrata Les Cordes, a via ferrata restored along an ancient path which was used until a few decades ago by the farmers of the area to bring the animals to the pasture on the Gardenacia highlands.
In winter, the area around the Gardenaccia chair lift is much loved by both locals and guests in the area. The plateau, immersed in its snow blanket, is ideal for ski mountaineering and snowshoeing and from the chair lift two perfectly prepared slopes descend (one blue and one red) connecting the area with the La Crusc ski area in Badia.
The 6-seater chairlift Stella Alpina serves easy and panoramic slopes in the Stella Alpina valley. To the north the view extends from Mt. Sassongher to Mt. Ciampac while to the south it rests on the Val Mezdì in the Sella Group.
Two blue slopes descend from the Stella Alpina chairlift. On one of the two the Funzone Edelweiss was created, an action area & with a speed track, a slopestyle for children and a funline. The Funline, with steep curves, wave paths, jumps and obstacles, guarantees fun and adrenaline for young and old.The Kids Slopestyle is instead a snow park designed specifically for children and beginners.
A lovely hike in Badia through a varied landscape of woods, meadows and pasture land. On the way, you pass an idyllic lake and Alpine pastures.
During the hike, you can enjoy magnificent views of the face of the Sas dla Crusc, the Sella massif and the Sassongher peak with the Gardenaccia plateau.
The 8-seater gondola lift connects the town of Corvara, in winter as well as in summer, with the homonymous hill above the town.
It was 1938 when a carriage for skiers was built in Corvara towards Col Alto, a sledge lift. The sledge lift was replaced in 1946 by a chair lift. It was the first chairlift in Italy. Improvements and renovations have been made several times over the years. Most recently, the chairlift was replaced by the current 8-seater gondola lift.
From the valley station of the gondola lift, hiking trails and MTB trails connect with the Piz La Ila - Piz Sorega - Pralongiá plateau. At the mountain station of the gondola lift, there is also an e-mtb sharing point in which you can rent an electric mountain bike which can be delivered to one of the other participating rental points.
In winter, the sunny and perfectly prepared Col Alto slopes connect Corvara to the Alta Badia ski area. On one of the slopes that descends from the Col Alto, cameras have been installed on the slopes. They will record your descent upon request. The video can then be downloaded.
The Braia Fraida 4-seater chairlift connects Corvara with La Villa and San Cassiano. In winter you can access a number of sunny and medium difficulty slopes and in summer some soft hiking path. The lift is also suitable for bicycle transport.
The La Brancia chairlift, from winter 2020 – 2021 a 6-seater chairlift, serves several blue slopes on the Piz Sorega - Piz La Ila - Col Alto plateau in the ski area Alta Badia.
