Built in 1888 as one of the first mountain huts in Val Gardena. It’s located on the sunny side in the middle of the Nature Park Puez-Odle with a stunning view on the Sassolungo and on the Odle mountains. The Rifugio Firenze was built in 1888 as one of the first mountain huts in Val Gardena by the German-Austrian Alpine Club (DÖAV Regensburg). When in 1921, with the end of the First World War, South Tyrol was given to Italy, the administration of the hut was transferred to the CAI of Florence, which renamed it "Rifugio Firenze". In 2010, after almost 90 years in hands of CAI Florence, the hut was entrusted to the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, which still owns it. Open in summer from 1st June until mid of October

The Resciesa Alpine Hut has been newly build and this historical place for Val Gardena was reopened in winter 2010/2011. The hut lies 1,4 km (0.8 miles) west of the uphill station of the new funicular that takes you from downtown Ortisei to the mountains of Resciesa. You reach our hut after a 30 minutes walk on a flat, comfortable path. During the winter you can descend on sleds from the hut all the way to Ortisei. We offer typical dishes with an eye to local tradition. You can also stay for one or more nights: we have comfortable double rooms with private bathroom or shared rooms.

Built in the year 1888 from the Regensburg Section of the DÖAV and given to the CAI of Florence in the year 1920, the Firenze Hut is located in the NATURAL PARK of PUEZ-ODLE close to the Odle mountains (S) in S. Cristina Val Gardena.

A cosy enviornment with the intimacy of a traditional Ladin stube. The few tables are laden with cuisine celebrating the artistry and spontaneity of nature. Authentic flavours cooked at a slow pace, striving for excellence: myriad alpine and Mediterranean dishes with plenty of surprises. This is Suinsom, meaning "on the summit" in the local Ladin dialect. An original sensory expedition, an excursion though flavours to the summit of taste and the pinnacle of great cuisine, crowned by a Michelin star.
