The monument is near the parish church square in Ortisei. It was built in memory of Johann Baptist Purger (1805-1872), the mayor who fought for the construction of the Val Gardena Road from Ponte Gardena to Ortisei.

Our children's playgrounds offer recreational equipment for children of every age range.

The old mills in Bulla, right above Ortisei, were built in the 8th and 19th century. The Zaramin mill is abandoned, but the Rumanon mill was restored in 1999 and the Droch mill in 2010. They are now fully operational. Visitors can join a guided tour and learn more about the mills and the ancient local lifestyle. More information is available at the Tourist Office in Ortisei.

The bike park on the Palmer slope is open daily and is the ideal place for both children and adults. Beginners are taught cycling here; on the other hand, experienced bikers can learn alternative cycling such as jumps and show jumping courses.

Monte Pana offers 30 km of well-marked trails.

The recent 8 km loop to the Palusc meadows is ideal for leisure skiers, while more expert skiers can enjoy demanding climbs and challenging downhills by combining the 2.5 km, 3.3 km, 3.75 km, 5 km and 7.5 km long trails. You can then reach Alpe di Siusi by either an arduous trail or by bus.

Cosy children-playground in the Promeneda street. Ideal for small and bigger biker, because here in Summer you find also the skillpark. In Winter you can start with the first skiing.

International Mountain Leader (IML)

I want to give every hiker a particular hiking experience and try to offer a personal added value. Puez-Odles Nature Park, Seceda, Col Raiser, Resciesa, Stevia, Sassolungo, Seiser Alm are only some of the areas in the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites that I would like to explore with you. Already as a child I was attracted by hiking and can claim to know the most beautiful facets and special secret places in Val Gardena. True to the motto: A WOW experience. As a passionate hiker, alpinist and paraglider pilot I can claim to know our mountains from below but also from above. I speak four languages: Ladin, German, Italian and English. I successfully passed my examination as a South Tyrolean hiking guide and I am registered as a hiking guide in the Register of South Tyrolean Mountain and Ski Guides as required.

Recently, after a very intensive preparation, I also passed the International Mountain Leader (IML) exam: in other words, I am now an outdoor guide with the best and most in-depth training recognised internationally by the UIMLA training standard. Now I can also lead groups in different mountains all over the world.

I would be very happy to accompany you on a hiking experience in summer as well as in winter.

In our small household goods store at the entrance of the village of Ortisei, you'll find everything a well-equipped kitchen needs. The eponymous bronze statue were built on the "Raida dl luech" walk in S. Cristina. The project is the result of a competition backed by the partnership between S. Cristina, the Tourist Association and the S. Cristina Art Sculpture Association to embellish the "Raida dl luech" and to o emphasize the importance and value of artistic activity in Val Gardena. The bronze statue freerider was built in 2012 near the Cisles Street in S. Cristina.

The 19th century Neo-Gothic nave was dismantled in 1988 and replaced by an 8-sided building. This remarkable church is decorated with several paintings, carvings, statues and images (among which a statue of St. Ulrich by Ludwig Moroder and the altar painting depicting the Adoration of the Magi by Josef Moroder-Lusenberg).
