Our hut is situated on the Sella Pass in the middle of the breathtaking Dolomites scenery. Thanks to its position between Val Gardena and Val di Fassa, you can enjoy a fantastic 360° view.
In winter you can reach us directly via the Sellaronda.
In summer, however, you can reach us either from the Sella Pass after a comfortable 25-minute walk or from Campitello di Fassa with the Col Rodella cable car and after a 20-minute walk downhill towards the Sella Pass.
Another option to reach us is by bike in 10 minutes from the Sella Pass or downhill from the Col Rodella cable car towards the Sella Pass in only 5 minutes.
A large selection of creative culinary dishes from South Tyrolean and Italian cuisine awaits you here. Also pizza lovers will not miss out(only winter).

Surrounded by the Sella Massif and the Sassolungo, our new restaurant "L'Angolino" offers a unique food experience with grilled specialities, good service and good wine.
Enjoy traditional and local dishes and the beautiful view from our panoramic-sun-terrace. From Weißenbach/Rio Bianco we are easily reachable in an approx. 20 minute walk. The trail is also suitable for baby strollers.There is a large sandbox for the children. Our hut is also reachable by mountainbike.
In the cold season a prepared winter hiking trail, a cross country track and a toboggan run – which are also illuminated - lead to our hut.
For groups of 8 or more people - open in the evenings by reservation.

The Puez hut was built in 1889 by the Austro-German section of the Alpenverein. After the First World War it passed to the Bolzano section of the CAI which, in 1940, handed it over to the well-known alpine guide Pietro Costa, an expert ski instructor and passionate hunter.
Costa ran the hut until 1989 and then passed the helm to his children Oscar and Gemma.
With the passing of the years and the explosion of high-altitude tourism, needs changed. In order to adapt to the times, the CAI decided to build a new, larger and more modern hut next to the old building. Thus it was that on 8th August 1982, in the presence of the then President of the Republic Sandro Pertini, the new Puez Refuge was inaugurated.
In 2024 the Puez hut passed into the hands of the next generation and is now managed by Costa Denis, Pietro Costa's grandson. Assisted by his wife and two daughters, Denis carries on his grandfather's legacy with love and passion.

The hut is located on the Trentino side right under the Sassolungo.
We have 12 beds in comfort rooms with own bathroom and 30 more beds in typical tyrolean rooms with sharing bathrooms.
The refuge has boot warmers, clothes dryer and e-bike refills with the possibility to put the bikes indoors, a modern ski-room and a private ski-lift that takes you directly to the Dolomiti Superski slopes 12 resorts and 1200km of slopes and the famous Sellaronda without cold morning queues.
Our cuisine is typical with a touch of modernity, many dishes offered come from our organic farms in Highlander, the largest in Italy.
Access: from Campitello di Fassa via the Col Rodella cable car, then descending for 10 minutes along the path that leads to Sasso Piatto or from Passo Sella taking the Friedrich August path in 30 minutes you arrive at the refuge.

Our cottage is located at the Sella Pass in the heart of the Dolomites mountains with a wonderful panoramic view of the Marmolada glaciar, the Sella massiv and the Sassolungo group. The Sella Pass forms together with the Pordoi Pass, the Gardena Pass and the Campolongo Pass the four-pass-trip, known from the skiers and the treckers as the "Sellaronda".
That's us, Melanie and Josef with Philipp and Tobias, the new tenants of the "Stierbergalm". We are a young, motivated family and together we want to bring new impetus to the "Stierbergalm" this year. We very much hope that we will be able to satisfy both our guests and our many four-legged roommates on the alpine hut.
