Feichter performs in the StadtGalerie Brixen, where visitors are initially greeted by a carpet of fog. A walk through the gallery reveals high towers here and there, protruding through the blanket of fog. Gradually, sculptures moulded from various materials appear. They are reminiscent of organic structures or architecture and landscapes from a bird's eye view. But just when visitors think they can make out something familiar in the swathes of fog, the next cloud of grey-white water droplets appears and makes everything disappear into obscurity again - like a memory that fades away. The installation and performance artist Fabian Feichter, who is also active as a musician, is showing his exhibition at the StadtGalerie as part of the Water Light Festival. In his works, he repeatedly explores the theme of water and its different aggregate states: a glacier in the form of a kebab skewer, artificial ice in a hotel room, a snow substitute from a popcorn machine or as three-dimensional moulds of various lakes. The exhibition also includes a video work by the artist Youlee Ku with sound by Fabian Feichter.

In the breakfast area of the Arthotel Lasserhaus, a kind of chandelier floats in a shaft of light and transports those standing or sitting below it to another world of water and light. The central meeting point in the building is thus emphasised. Whereas in classic chandeliers the candles are directed upwards, in Feichter's design the LED tubes shine or hang downwards and spread their cool light throughout the room. The plastic elements do not refract the light like prisms made of cut glass or, in the past, rock crystal from northern Italy, and yet the pendants are filled with a lively play of light, just like their historical counterparts. Depending on the thickness, they allow more or less light to pass through, colouring it in delicate pastel shades. Feichter's colour scheme uses similar tones to those in the StadtGalerie, which change around his own skin tones. The hangings themselves are reminiscent of fossils. More or less complete remains of fantasy fish, snails and other inexplicable sea creatures allow the viewer to immerse themselves in unknown spheres. The sculptural object Everything Loose zooms directly into the centre of a habitable place and the creatures it houses, which are somewhere between animals and humans.

As part of an open competition last autumn, female artists from the European region of Tyrol-South Tyrol-Trentino were able to apply for the second edition of the FRAUENfeste project. From the numerous submissions, a jury selected project ideas from eight female artists and five collectives on the theme of identity. Their works are very diverse: they range from expansive installations, large-format paintings, sculptures, etchings, photographs, sound installations with singing and music to dance and video art. In February and March, the fortress will therefore become a working and inspirational space in which the women will use their artistic work to break open the masculinity inscribed in the Franzensfeste fortress, occupy the spaces and create artistic positions that thematise very different facets of identity. What they create in the process is ultimately shown in an exhibition curated by fortress employee Esther Erlacher, which opens on 6 April at 11 a.m. and can be seen until 16 June.

Local and international artists transform fountains and cultural-historical treasures into an open-air gallery with their creative ideas. Reflections on ecological, economic and social aspects related to water and light are the basis of the artistic works. Under the motto "Water is life - light is art", an art trail is being created in Brixen's old town. The Brixen Water Light Festival takes place annually in May. The idea for the festival was born in 2015 after the premiere of the light and music show at the Hofburg in Brixen. The first edition of the festival was held in May 2017. Art, light and water and a head full of dreams and thoughts. Being free and letting oneself fall, floating on the surface of the water, submerging, and carrying the light within. Being critical and playful, a rollercoaster of emotions. Screaming, standing still, having fun, seeing the world. And figure it out? The Water Light Festival in Neustift takes place until 29 June 2024 on the premises of Neustift Monastery. Contemporary art at the Abbey 18.04.-26.10.2024, Mon-Sat from 10am-5pm Artists from South Tyrol will inhabit spaces of Neustift Abbey for a certain period of time, showing site-specific works in the Mühlsaal, an exhibition space with an atelier flair right above the wine bar of the Abbey. Visitors will see the results of interactions with the room itself, the artistic creation process and life in the abbey, expressed in many different artistic media and forms. An exciting adventure awaits us on the way to the summit of the Amthorspitze near Sterzing. Our ascent begins on an asphalt road that turns into a forest path. The steep path winds its way through the forest, past old ski lift routes, to the Hühnerspielhütte. The trail becomes more technical before it leads above the tree line onto a wide access track to the abandoned military base. Shortly after the base, the trail begins below the summit and after an exciting carrying section, you enter the flowing trail section with a free choice of lines. From 25 and 26 May 2024, the House of Solidarity (HdS) in Bressanone/Brixen will be hosting the 19th edition of the Zugluftfest, an open, colorful and charming festival for everyone. It will once again take place at the new location at the Jakob-Steiner-Haus in Milland. The coronavirus regulations will be adhered to. Under the motto "The festival is us", this year's Zugluftfest aims to focus on those who make up the special atmosphere of this event: the festival visitors. 200 volunteers help to put on a colorful festival as a moment of encounter for around 2,500 visitors. The Zugluftfest will once again take place in front of the HdS headquarters at Vintlerweg 34, near the Jakob-Steiner-Haus. This year, however, the joyful festival does not want to ignore the contemplative occasion. Rather, it is also a commemoration of the Aldein missionary Luis Lintner, whose name the house bears.

Local and seasonal, straight from the producer. Farmers from the surrounding area bring their own farm produce to the Brixen old town centre. Depending on the season, fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy products, eggs, flowers, honey, homemade jams and pasta sauces, refined distillates and organically grown herbs as well as wooden handicrafts are offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays. From April to October, local associations prepare fresh tirtln (fried stuffed pastry) on site on a weekly basis. This means that every Saturday is also a culinary experience. This market has been a popular, lively meeting place for locals and guests for 30 years.

"Brixen for Kids", the year-round free childcare programme, is a special initiative aimed primarily at the local population and all visitors to Brixen's old town. This tour is now a must because it's simply fun! The Plose Bike guides have discovered new, challenging trails that are accessible after an additional ascent. But don't worry, for those who want to take it easy, there is still the classic, easier route available. And for those who don't know the tour yet: look forward to three peaks and varied trails: The Gitschberg Jochtal cable cars do most of the elevation gain for us. After a steep, not too long ascent, we reach the Kleine Gitsch and thus our first summit. A varied mix of technical, flowing and rough trails lead us down into the valley of Vals, where a leisurely climb to the next cable car awaits us. After another ride on the cable car, we reach our lunch stop. Refreshed, we have another ascent to the second summit, the Stoanamandl. Take a short breather and enjoy the view of the surrounding mountain landscape. On the third peak, the Alte Karl, we enjoy our third summit moment. Ready for an unforgettable adventure in the Dolomites? The day begins with an exciting ride on the funicular railway from Ortisei in Val Gardena, which takes us up to a breathtaking 2000 metres in altitude. After the ascent, a not too long but challenging climb to the Raschötz hut awaits us. The steep path rewards us with spectacular views. We continue to Ausserraschötz, where we must be prepared for a short pushing section. The beauty of the natural landscape makes up for any effort.
