Local and seasonal, straight from the producer. Farmers from the surrounding area bring their own farm produce to the Brixen old town centre. Depending on the season, fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy products, eggs, flowers, honey, homemade jams and pasta sauces, refined distillates and organically grown herbs as well as wooden handicrafts are offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays. From April to October, local associations prepare fresh tirtln (fried stuffed pastry) on site on a weekly basis. This means that every Saturday is also a culinary experience. This market has been a popular, lively meeting place for locals and guests for 30 years.

On the occasion of the Euregio Museum Year 2025, dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the Tyrolean Peasants’ Revolt of 1525 – a historic turning point that continues to raise essential questions about power structures, social justice, political participation, and the potential for societal change – the Hofburg Bressanone presents a two-part exhibition project that sets history and the present in a dialogical relationship. The two exhibitions, 1525-2025. Irruption-Subversion-Renewal (29 March – 31 August 2025) and ETÀ, ÉTATS (12 September 2025 – 11 January 2026), explore the theme of societal transformation from different perspectives. They share a central conceptual motif: rupture as a starting point for movement, encounter, and new forms of social thinking. ETÀ, ÉTATS links the father-son relationship between Robert and Johannes Bosisio to the socially relevant question of intergenerational dialogue. In the spatial and conceptual design, the two artists meet in the center of the exhibition area, while their independent positions are situated at opposite ends of the sequence of rooms. At this central point of encounter, the focus is less on comparison and more on exchange: a dialogical coexistence aimed at connecting different experiences, ways of thinking, and perspectives.

The adventure begins with a comfortable shuttle ride from Brixen to the Villnösstal Valley, arriving at Zanser Alm – from here, the real bike journey kicks off! We start on a forest road heading toward the Gampen Alm, accompanied by breathtaking views of the Dolomites and the Villnösser Geisler Peaks. The route then continues to the Schlüterhütte mountain hut. The final climb to this point demands a serious effort – but the view from the highest point of the tour is worth every drop of sweat. It’s the perfect place for a short panoramic break. After that, things get a bit more relaxed: we follow varied trails and gravel paths, with gentle climbs and descents, riding on toward the Gömajoch, passing the Göma Hut, and reaching the well-known Würzjoch. Discover the Baroque cloister garden at Novacella Monastery. A place of tranquility, shaped over centuries. The cloister garden at Novacella Monastery is one of the most significant historical gardens in South Tyrol. After its faithful restoration in 2004, it is divided into three areas: a tree garden with a pavilion, a herb garden with around 75 medicinal and aromatic plants, and a Baroque ornamental garden with fountains, a bird chapel, and a historic fish pond. To this day, the canons find rest between ancient ginkgo trees and a giant sequoia – and you, too, can experience monastic peace here amidst nature and enjoy a moment of reflection. The Baroque cloister garden can be visited independently from May to September, Thursday to Saturday, during museum opening hours. Price: 5,00€ per person

“Regenerated in Hope” is the title of the jubilee initiative that unites the 15 dioceses of Triveneto in a common journey to promote ecclesiastical cultural heritage and the bond between these places and their communities. The diocese of Bolzano-Bressanone is participating in the project with an exhibition in the chapel of St. John in the cloister of Bressanone Cathedral. The chapel, built in the 10th century and part of the cloister of Bressanone Cathedral, contains a baptismal font, which attests to its function as a baptistery, and displays examples of the ecclesiastical heritage of reference: sacred artworks from the Diocesan Museum; ancient documents and a register of baptisms from the Diocesan Historical Archive and the Parish Archive of Bressanone; sacramental books from the Major Seminary Library, special paper supports for the free transcription of visitors' names.

Europe’s largest monastery complex in Tirol/Tirolo. Founded in 1142 by the Bishop of Brixen/Bressanone at the intersection of two important routes - the Brenner and the route to the Pustertal valley - the Augustinian Neustift Canons Regular Monastery was recognized, among other things, as a hospice and rest area for pilgrims. Today the Monastery makes a name for itself as a place of agriculture, culture and education. From the monastery winery to the herb garden, from the electricity plant to the educational center, several businesses are united in the monastery. The Augustinian Neustift Canons Regular Monastery in Vahrn/Varna is the largest Monastery complex in Tirol/Tirolo. The Monastery has an holistic conception and was independent and versatile from its very foundation. A walk through the Monastery complex will let you understand its size and importance as a former important cultural and economic hub of the Eisacktal/Valle Isarco valley. The first thing that will catch your eye are the architectural elements: Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. With the Engelsburg, the late Baroque collegiate church, the Gothic cloister, the miracle fountain, the library’s unique manuscripts and the historic Pinakothek, the Augustinian Neustift Canons Regular Monastery is one of the most remarkable sights of the Eisacktal valley.

Fantastic views, vast natural landscapes and majestic mountains: this is the Dolorama Trail. Our hike takes us on a section of this long-distance hiking trail, from the Würzjoch around the striking Peitlerkofel, to the Schlüterhütte and then to Zans in the Villnöss Dolomite valley. During the hike, we learn exciting facts about the fauna and flora, the geological features of the Dolomites and also about the home of mountaineering legend Reinhold Messner. We start directly in Brixen – pedaling our way to the valley station of the Plose cable car. The Plose gondola takes us comfortably up to 2,023 meters, but from there on, it gets sporty: A scenic ride to the Pfannspitzhütte awaits us, with a challenging climb just before the hut. We will stop here - the CAI Hut is currently closed for renovation. Well-rested, we continue to the CAI Hut, the entry point to the legendary downhill route CAIDOM. Once upon a time, this was where the world’s best freeriders raced into the valley – today, it’s our personal playground. What follows is a true trail adventure: technical challenges, flowy lines, and plenty of variety. This e-MTB tour in the Dolomite Valley of Villnöss starts in the village of St. Peter/Pizack, heading toward St. Magdalena. From there, a gentle uphill ride takes us to rustic alpine huts nestled at the foot of the Villnösser Geisler Peaks – one of the most stunning spots in the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites – where we stop for a cozy break. The wheel isn't being reinvented, but starting on June 27, every Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., everyone can get their own bike back in shape. In a relaxed atmosphere, with tools and spare parts from “Bici's by REX,” you can repair and maintain your bike yourself. Experts are on hand to provide assistance and advice.

For a long time, the chestnut was considered a “bread tree”, which mainly served as food for the poorer people. In the Eisacktal valley, the chestnut still has a special significance today, and the “Keschtnweg”, which starts at the Neustift monastery and stretches a total of 90 km to Vilpian, is known far beyond Brixen. Our hike starts in Klausen and takes us to Säben Monastery and then further along the Keschtnweg trail to Felthurns. We can stop for refreshments at the Buschenschank Huber (not included) before visiting Velthurns Castle (admission € 6.00, to be paid on site; children accompanied by an adult free of charge). To conquer these demanding paths, you’ll need more than just solid physical fitness – skill, precision, and plenty of experience are essential. While the mountain lifts take care of most of the uphill climbs, nearly 3,000 meters of descent still await your mastery. If you choose this tour, you should be confident on S2 trails and not shy away from more challenging S3 sections. And remember: it’s not just about the adrenaline on the trail – take time to soak in the breathtaking scenery that surrounds you!

This tour is a must – because it’s simply a lot of fun! The guides from Plose Bike have discovered new, challenging trails, accessible with an additional climb. For those who prefer a more relaxed pace, there’s also a classic, easier route. Look forward to three summits and varied trails! The Gitschberg and Jochtal cable cars take care of most of the elevation gain. After a steep climb, we reach the Kleine Gitsch, our first summit. From there, technical, flowy, and rough trails lead us down into the Vals Valley, where a gentle climb brings us to the next lift. After another ride up, we reach our lunch break. Refueled and refreshed, we continue to the second peak, the Stoanamandl. A short rest, a deep breath, and we soak in the view. Then it’s on to the third high point, the Alte Karl, where we enjoy our final summit moment. South Tyrolean artist Elisabeth Oberrauch is well-known for her artworks made from handmade paper. In this exhibition, she displays highlights from her previous work and presents new creations inspired by pharmaceutical and medical themes. Her artistic works accompany and support the Brixen Pharmacy Museum on its journey towards a harmonious combination of architecture, art and pharmacy.
