The Talvera river runs through the city of Bolzano. The water course originates from the Sarentino Valley and its banks are home to beautiful green lawns, recreational parks, long walks and modern cycle routes. This is the green lung of the city and a popular destination for both tourists and local residents that provide rest and relaxation to those strolling along the tree-lines paths as well as fun for the younger ones in the playgrounds. There are also many sport facilities in the area which attract football, baseball and softball lovers. Cozy, well almost contemplative – that’s the best way to describe the ambience at the Ritten Christmas Market, the Christmas Train Market “Christbahnl”. The snow falls softly from the sky, Christmas carols gently jingle across the square and a fragrance of freshly baked goodies fills the winter air.
Every 4 minutes a cabin leaves the station and arrives 12 minutes later.
The Renon cable car is a show case for public Transport worldwide. Transport links between Bozen and the Ritten have a long tradition. More than 100 years ago, the Bozen aristocracy travelled on the cog railway from the Waltherplatz in Bozen to the Ritten. This railway was replaced in 1966 by a cable car, which after 40 years of service no longer exists. In 2009 the new cable car was opened for public, the first of its kind in Italy.

Our day on the mountains starts at Falzeben to reach the Meranerhütte. On the way you frequently pass different alpine huts where you can have a rest. For example, the "Zuegghütte", the "Rotwandhütte" or the "Waidmannalm". From the "Meraner Hütte" (1937m), you will pass the ridge "Kreuzjöchl" (1981m) to the mountain "Kartoffel" (2084m), the highest point of this hike. Crossing the ridge "Auener Jöchel" (1925m), you will descend to the "Stoanernen Mandlen" (2003m) and finally to the "Möltner Kaser" (1766m). Here you can always walk over gentle alpine meadows and on the "Stoanernen Mandlen" you have a particularly good view of the nearby Dolomites. Via "Möltner Joch" you will reach the parking space Schermoos and Meltina.

The ascent to the Great or Small Ifinger is varied. At the beginning you walk through a beautiful wood, then on large and wide spread meadows, until you finally reach the summit of the Ifinger over rocky terrain. After reaching the top a breathtaking panorama opens up to you. You can have a look over the whole Burggrafenamt, the Sarntaler Alps, the Texelgroup and the Val Venosta. On your way you shopuld note the chapel, which you will pass. It is dedicated to Sáint Oswald.
The following alpine huts are on your way and you can stop and have a rest: Zuegghütte, Rotwandhütte, Berggasthaus, Pfifflinger Köpfl, Kuhleiten and Falzeben.
Attention: This is a difficult and demanding hike! Good conditiones, surefootedness and an immunity for high altitudes are needed! Especially for the last section of the way to the Great Ifinger. For those who get easily dizzy, the Small Ifinger is a worthwhile summit aim.

This sophisticated mountain tour brings us to the prehistoric cultural place "Stoanerne Mandln". No one knows exactly why these piles of stones have been built on this hill. In spring, the crocus blossoms on the meadows in this area are overwhelming, and in autumn the larch trees on the Salten show their most colorful side. Worth mentioning is also the sandstone quarry of Mölten, which you will pass.
During this tour you will pass the following alpine huts, where you can stop and have a rest: Sattlerhütte, Möltner Kaser, Jenesinger-Jöchl-Alm and Lanzenschuster
The starting point for this fantastic snowshoe hike is the car park in Valdurna/Durnholz. After a short ascent to the outflow of the lake, it is already time to put on your snowshoes. Following the lovely forest trail on the orographic left bank to the northern end of lake, the tour then continues along the stream, first to the east through the Großalmtal valley in shade but glittering with powder snow. As you gain height you come to sunny pasture ridges and via the Innerhütten-Alm Alpine pasture to the Fortschellscharte gap.
Tip: when snow conditions are good, definitely ascend the nearby Kassianspitze peak (2,581 m, ascent: approx. 1 hour).
Reverse the route to return to the starting point at the Valdurna car park.
The swimming pool is near the tennis courts of San Genesio. You will find a nice lawn for sunbathing, a bar with a smal terrace, a big pool (lenght x width about 25 metres x 10 metres + 6 metres x 10 metres, depth 1,0 - 4,0 metres) and a small one with 6 metres diameter (depth 0,42 - 0,5 metres). Due to the fresh air of Jenesien also their 'neighbours' from Bozen have pleasure to come to this swimming pool.
