In the Helsinki night, two lonely souls meet: a mechanic and a supermarket cashier. Both wish to get to know each other better, but a phone number scribbled on a scrap of paper is lost, and their meeting is postponed while their social situations show no sign of improvement. Especially for him, as he struggles to stop drinking. This film expresses the need to escape the bleakness of a society increasingly closed in on itself and unable to look beyond. A society ready to fire someone for taking home an expired product that would otherwise end up in the trash just as it is ready to fire a worker who gets injured on the job, using alcohol consumption as a pretext. On this theme, Kaurismäki who has never hidden his fondness for strong drink, returns repeatedly pleasure to a painful sign of existential emptiness.
Introduction by Antonella Dallapè of the Fotoclub Immagine Merano BFI
As part of the Immagina exhibition-seminar.

They develop larger leaves, fruits, and flowers, tolerate drought, cold, and salinity better, are more resistant, and adapt more quickly. Polyploid plants are the subject of a lecture by Eurac Research and the South Tyrol Biodiversity Platform at the South Tyrol Museum of Natural Sciences on May 14th, in German.
Polyploidy – when plants have two or more sets of chromosomes – occurs frequently and plays an important role in plant development, diversity, and adaptation to their environment. It is known that there are more species of polyploid plants at higher latitudes, but how these plants are distributed in mountainous regions is less well understood.
Teresa Zeni will speak on this topic in the German-language lecture "Polyploide Pflanzen in den Ostalpen: Einblick in die Verbreitungsmuster." The PhD student at the Institute of Botany at the University of Innsbruck will also address the question of whether polyploid flowering plants in the Eastern Alps are more common at higher altitudes or at greater distances from the former refuges of the Ice Age.
The event, organized by Eurac Research and the South Tyrol Biodiversity Platform, will take place on Wednesday, May 14th, at 6:00 PM at the South Tyrol Museum of Natural Sciences. Admission is free. Booking is recommended via the museum’s website at https://app.no-q.info/naturmuseum-sudtirol/calendar/event/534437. The lecture will also be streamed online on the museum's YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/live/-RXsZYpqg8w.

From Signat the trail leads downhill through the gently rolling vineyards to the viewing platform with its magnificent views of Bozen, then on to the Loosmannhof, to the settlement of St. Justina and down to Rentsch in the historic wine-growing estate of Ansitz Waldgries. The same route leads back uphill from Bozen to Signat.
In her exhibition Grandmother said it’s okay, Stefanie Moshammer presents a deeply personal yet multifaceted engagement with family memory cultures and the value of everyday objects at the Foto Forum gallery in Bolzano. The work is rooted in photographs, found objects, and stories from the lives of her grandparents in the Mühlviertel region of Upper Austria—a life marked by simplicity, creativity, and a respectful use of resources. Years later, she reconstructs these memories through her camera, weaving together visual metaphors that reflect aging, daily rituals, and the transience of life.

An enchanting and varied journey of discovery in the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park, accompanied by shimmering emerald green waters.
A short drive takes us to the charming Ladin Dolomite village of St. Vigil/San Vigilio di Marebbe, gateway to the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park. The hike begins at the nature park house. First we walk along part of the interesting “Tru dles Liondes” legend trail along the rushing “Rio Dal Plan” St. Vigil/San Vigilio di MArebbe stream. A short ascent leads to the gentle “Tres la Val” hiking trail at the entrance to the “Val dai Tamersc” rugged valley.
Along the flat “Tru del Ega” water trail we enjoy the quiet glide and the wonderful color of the stream and reach the bubbling 40 springs “Les Fontanes” and the picturesque green “Lé dla Créda” chalk lake (1,268m). Walking steadily upwards we come to the extraordinarily spectacular small Ciastlins waterfalls (1,400m), a great and impressive ambience! A lonely, unmarked, easy, “secret” secret path below the rock bastion of Monte Sella de Sennes leads us to Fodara Masaronn and the springs of the “Ega di San Vi”. Here we are greeted by the bizarre “Dudesc Apostui” rock towers, the Twelve Apostles, the guardians of the Rautal valley. From here we explore the remaining exciting part of the “Tru del Ega” along a pleasant path to the magnificent “Spiaggietta Ciamaor”, a beautiful recreational oasis located directly on the river. From here we soon reach the starting point.
At the end of the hike there is also the opportunity to visit the Nature Park House.

This extraordinary tour offers not only an unforgettable nature experience but also numerous health benefits. The cool night air and gentle movement strengthen the immune system, while the pure mountain air, whose high quality has been confirmed by studies from the Technical University of Munich, is particularly beneficial for the respiratory tract. The soothing sound of the waterfall and the nocturnal atmosphere promote mental recovery and stress reduction.
The moderate ascent gently supports heart and circulation. Moreover, the combination of movement and fresh air can positively influence metabolism and help alleviate metabolic disorders. Last but not least, nighttime activity in nature can improve mood and regulate the sleep-wake rhythm, which can be particularly helpful for seasonal depression. A boon for the lungs, balm for soul and senses.
Measured movement combined with targeted climate exposure and expert guidance for endurance and thermoregulation training lead to relaxation and recovery, but also to hardening and strengthening of the immune system.
