On Easter Monday, the Haflinger gallop race marks the beginning of the new racing season at the Merano horse racing track. In the morning (at 10 a.m.) the magnificently decorated floats and music bands parade through the city center. Programme of events at the racecourse starts at 11 a.m. and the race starts at 1 p.m. An interesting programme of side events and culinary treats enhances the thrilling racing action. Kidsweek 2025! The unique Kidsweek organised by the Sulden ski school & cable cars in collaboration with the Ortler holiday region offers a fantastic opportunity for children to learn to ski or improve their skills on the slopes. This special week is designed to offer children a fun and educational experience on the slopes. Experienced ski instructors and supervisors look after the little skiers to help them develop their skills while having fun on the slopes. In addition to skiing, the children can expect a great programme also awaits them off the slopes.

You love apples, but have never thought about who is behind the juicy-sweet vitamin bombs? Then a guided apple tour through the orchards is just the thing for you. Our apple farmer accompanies you through the apple meadows and tells you interesting facts about the diverse fruit. Afterwards, farmers Gitti and Sepp will make, bake and, of course, taste Apfelkiachl (apple fritters). Easter market in J.-Kravogl and F.-Höfler-Straße in Lana, 7.30-13.00. The following roads will be closed during the market: Lorenzerweg, Franz-Höfler-Strasse, Johann-Kravogl-Strasse. Parking is prohibited on all streets and squares from 06:00 to 16:00.

The Tour of the Alps 2025 once again promises thrilling cycling action amid the breathtaking Alpine landscapes. This prestigious stage race brings the world’s best cyclists to the region, combining outstanding athletic performance with stunning scenery. With demanding stages and challenging climbs, this year’s race is set to be a highlight of the international cycling calendar. The second stage, Mezzolombardo – Sterzing-Ratschings-Gossensass, is the centerpiece of the race and will take place on April 22, 2025. With 178 kilometers and an impressive elevation gain of 3,750 meters, it is the longest and most demanding stage of the Tour. Following a flat start in Trentino, the route takes on a challenging climb at Monte San Pietro, followed by a mix of further climbs and descents that demand utmost focus and stamina. The decisive section awaits the riders in the second half of the stage as they reach the South Tyrolean town of Sterzing. Here, a 16-kilometer circuit, which must be completed twice, takes them through the region. The course begins with a four-kilometer climb to Obertelfes (average gradient: 7%, with sections exceeding double digits), followed by a technically demanding descent. The final kilometers will be extremely fast-paced: after several large roundabouts, the last 500 meters lead to a slightly uphill, cobbled straightaway that finishes in the heart of Sterzing – a perfect stage for a dramatic finale! The next day, the peloton will continue to Innichen, where the third stage of the Tour begins.

Guided tour of the Niederlana parish church with the Schnatterpeck altar. A first church was built on this site in the early Middle Ages on Roman foundations. In 1492, the present late Gothic wall pillar church was consecrated. Josef Weingartner counts it among the "most beautiful Gothic churches in the country" in his "Art Monuments of South Tyrol". The Gothic winged altar from the workshop of Hans Schnattpereck is a work of art that is known far beyond the borders of the province.

Experience regional delicacies on a joint hike! We start in Riffian/Rifiano and make our way to Kuens/Caines to the Gasserhof farm. An exciting tour of the farm awaits us there, where you will learn how fruit spreads, syrups, juices, chutneys, pickled vegetables and much more are made by hand. During a tasting session, you can sample the full-flavoured delicacies and taste the quality. After this enjoyable stop, you return to Kuens/Caines.
