The exhibition "Mëter Mans – Craftswomen from Val Gardena share their stories" brings together the works of around 25 female artisans from Val Gardena and offers an inspiring insight into the diversity and creativity of regional craftsmanship. It showcases works by artists of all ages, combining traditional techniques with modern forms of expression. From March 1 to March 16, 2025, visitors can admire the artworks in the exhibition hall of the “Luis Trenker” Cultural Center in Ortisei daily from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The exhibition aims to provide the artists with a platform to present their works to a wide audience while also highlighting the deep roots of the Ladin handicraft tradition. Mëter Mans invites visitors to immerse themselves in the stories and creativity of these remarkable women, who, with their artisanal skills, preserve and further develop the traditions of their homeland. Springtime for your palate When spring arrives, it's time to celebrate. Especially in the valley, where the first harbingers of spring are known to bloom and chirp a little earlier than in the mountains. On the Alto Adige Wine Road, spring is all about wine and culinary delights. From the end of March to June, exquisite wines and tasty treats can be savoured in the villages from Nals/Nalles to Salurn/Salorno and in the wine town of Bolzano - at top-class wine events, culinary highlight events and various gastronomic weeks in selected restaurants.

The Watles ski area once again invites you to the fun carnival race! Traditionally, the fun carnival race is organised on Watles on Sunday during the carnival season. On the descent, the disguised teams have to master various stations - at the end, prizes are awarded according to the standard! The fun race is great fun for young and young at heart. Live music and delicacies await you at the Plantapatsch Hut. More details regarding start time / entry fee and registration will follow!

The traditional Maschger dance is an old carnival custom in Prad am Stilfserjoch. On Shrove Sunday, Shrove Monday and Shrove Tuesday, the Maschger, led by a Bajaz, perform. Good-humoured, masked and exuberant couples parade from inn to inn, where they dance and play tricks according to set rituals. The masked group consists of eight couples: Mr and Mrs, Farmer and Farmer's Wife, Steyrer and Steyrerin, Tuxner and Tuxnerin, Zillertaler and Zillertalerin, Mohr and Mohrin, Tschigeiner and Tschigeinerin as well as Zoch and Pfott. As soon as the Maschger enter a tavern, the Bajaz with his pointed hat opens the dancing. Behind him, the eight couples wait in rows of two to make their entrance. The last couple are "Zoch and Pfott", the two roughest characters. They are dressed in rags and are supposed to demonstrate fertility. Nobody knows the exact origin of this custom or its deeper meaning. It is probably a kind of wedding procession or a dance of death. Nothing more is known.

A night full of entertainment, during which various snow sports will be presented, including skiing, snowboarding, paragliding, mountain biking and many other disciplines. You will be able to see a technical demonstration of acrobatic jumps performed by the talented Pirates Freestyle Team, all enriched by an exciting musical backdrop thanks to the energy of the DJ present. During the event photos or video footage may be taken for the purpose of documentation and promotion of the event and the region. The footage may be used and published on websites, on social networks and on media in compliance with the data protection regulations.

Every year on Rose Monday, the Kastelruth Riding Club organizes an extraordinary event together with the ski schools: Night Skijoring! At this event, a skier is pulled by a horse as he races up the piste on skis. Sounds crazy? It is - but in the best possible way! Experience night skijoring under the moonlit sky this Monday, 03.03.2025, from 21:00.

The 120 ski and snowboard instructors of the Ski School Selva pass on their knowledge and their enthusiasm and passion for skiing. Furthermore they show you the best technique for a safe driving style. To the team belong former world cup athletes, coaches, cross country and freestyle instructors and coaches who are specialized in children and people with disabilities.

On Shrove Monday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, we invite all children to S. Cristina civic hall to have their faces painted in a fun way. Let's spend a colourful afternoon together in S. Cristina!

In the mood for nature? This winter we invite all science and nature enthusiasts to the Museum. For boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 11 years old who are keen to spend their holidays among research, discoveries and experiments. Every day from 8 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. the children will be accompanied by two guides from the Natural Science Museum. Cost: €100 (€80 for each additional child), including materials and snack. The big carnival procession moves through the village of Welschnofen | Nova Levante again! For the 58th time on Tuesday, 04.03.2025 the carinical procession "Fasching in Schuffa" takes place! The procession starts punctually and according to old tradition at 3.03 p.m. in Rosengartenstraße | Via Catinaccio and leads along Karerseestraße | Via Carezza and Romstraße | Via Roma to the house of the village community. There the Welschnofen | Nova Levante music band will provide delicious food, colourful drinks and the best music for a foolish carnival celebration. Programme: 3.03 p.m. - Start of the parade - Rosengartenstraße | Via Catinaccio. 4.00 p.m. - Arrival at the house of the village community and carnival celebration with the party band. From 10.00 p.m. - Carnival party with DJ until late into the night.

The colourful hustle and bustle during the Carnival season is an important event for Ortisei. This year, on 4th of march a “Carnival skiing” takes place on the Palmer and Furdenan ski slopes. Masked skiers will get delicious Loacker-biscuits. The nicest masks will be awarded!

Lasa is not only known for its marble, the historic sloped railway and the healthy cabbage, but also for the creativity in the carnival season. The merchants and restaurateurs always come up with something "crazy" idea - and every second year the traditional Lasa Carnival parade takes place. You can, should, of course, very like to come as a "masked" to Lasa and enjoy until late in the evening .

The unique sounds of the alphorns can be heard every Tuesday on the Seiser Alm.

Kronplatz, the world-famous winter sports paradise in the South Tyrolean Dolomites, is once again offering an impressive experience for all snow and mountain lovers this season. And this winter, visitors can look forward to a very special event: the longest torchlight descent in the Alps. A truly magical spectacle that combines skiing, light and fire in one unforgettable night. The event takes place at the Olang 1+2 valley station in Gassl and combines two spectacular elements: the traditional torchlight descent, which illuminates the snow-covered slopes with a multitude of glowing torches, and an innovative laser show, which adds a futuristic touch to the Alpine landscape. The contrast between the warm glow of the torches and the clear night sky creates a breathtaking atmosphere. The big show is also presented and accompanied by music.

Children's carnival with "rodscha und tom", fun & games at the village square of Seis. HAPPY JUNGLE SHOW - “Rodscha from Cambodia and Tom Palme" present a unique concert experience for the whole family. Famous scenes from their animated films are accompanied live by exciting interactive songs. Rodscha and Tom's animal friends, Artis, Ze-Ra, and Karri, life-sized figures, appear on stage for dance performances. Dive into the wonderful world of "Rodscha and Tom" and experience an engaging participatory adventure. In the show, there is singing, dancing, clapping, and guessing. Fun, interaction, and a strong connection with the audience are guaranteed.

The village of S. Maddalena at the far end of the Val Casies Valley offers a wide range of rewarding ski touring destinations, including the Kaser Tal. Depending on snow conditions, the tour leads to either the Regelspitze (2745 m) or Kaserspitze (2768 m). Both ski peaks offer a breathtaking view of the Dolomites to the south. No refreshment stops available. Difficulty: medium. Time: 08:00 am.-04:00 pm. Altitude difference: max. 1300 m. Meeting point: 08:00 am at the parking lot in Val Casies Valley – S. With the cablecar Speikboden and the chairlift Sonnklar it goes up to 2.400m, right in the middle of the Ahrntal valley mountains. Once arrived at the top, you have the opportunity to hike to the Sonnklar Cross, which is 10 minutes away, or you can hike tot he Speikboden cross, which is easily reached on foot in 30 minutes. Attention: If the weather is bad, the event will be posponed to another day!
