If you are looking for an exciting human-animal-nature-experience on the mountain, the Pirchhof-Lamas from Birchberg are just right for you. On the llama experience day we want to inspire you all around. First of all, you will look behind the scenes of our llama breeding, get to know our 24-headed llama and alpaca rascals and experience "up close" how our llama kids grow up. We will answer all your questions about husbandry, feeding, care, rearing, training and wool processing and turn you into little llama and alpaca experts. When you are really familiar with the topic, we will start on a leisurely llama and alpaca tour. Halfway through the tour we will take a short break and enjoy the wonderful mountain panorama of the "South Tyrolean Andes". A great backdrop to take souvenir photos with your llama or alpaca. Afterwards we hike back to the farm in a relaxed way. There, a skill course awaits you, which you will master with your animal hiking partner. At the end you will receive your very own "llama or alpaca guide certificate" as a reward. Ideal for families with children from 3 years After the tour you have the possibility to stop at the Brandhof - an idyllically located farm tavern with its own cheese dairy, very close to the Pirchhof llamas. Measured movement combined with targeted climate exposure and expert guidance for endurance and thermoregulation training lead to relaxation and recovery, but also to hardening and strengthening of the immune system. The approximately two-hour night hike leads from the center of Partschins through orchards and deciduous forests to the impressive Partschins waterfall. The path covers about 430 meters in altitude.

ONLY IN GERMAN OR ITALIAN Niedereben Farm is situated at an altitude of 634 metres on Nörderberg mountain. Benefiting from the advantageous climate, olives, grapes and cacti all flourish here. The Hofer family supplies the local organic specialist retailer (Biokistl) with its fruit and vegetables and sells a variety of home produced, typical South Tyrolean organic products in their own farm shop. Cows, pigs, quails, ducks, geese and chickens all feel like “pigs in clover” on the farm! This introduction to the long history of the farm gives visitors an insight into livestock husbandry and wine growing on the Vinschgau’s Nörderberg mountain and shows the route taken from the first olives to the production of the farm’s own olive oil. The following products are available to buy directly from the farm shop: speck (bacon), salami, smoked sausages, cooked herb-crusted ham, Coppa ham, farmer’s speck, seasonal fruit and vegetables, and in the autumn months chestnuts and pumpkins, apple juice and Vernatsch wine.

Your guide leads you through several stations where she tells about winegrowing, landscape and history. On the way, at the Baron Widmann winery, in the vineyards, at the Castel Turmhof Tiefenbrunner winery and in the Cantina Cortaccia, you can taste 5 typical wines. The walk lasts 3 1/2-4 hours, about 50 minutes of which are spent actually walking.

From April to the beginning of November, young winemaker Lukas from the Hillepranterhof invites you to enjoy his exquisite wines every Thursday at 5:30 pm. Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of viticulture on a guided tour of the vineyard and cellar. On request, you can also be served a platter of regional specialties. Winegrowing has been a tradition at the Hillepranterhof for generations. Since 2021, winemaker Lukas has been processing the grapes directly on the estate and marketing his wines independently. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Vernatsch and Pinot Noir grow on the slopes of the vineyard. The Pinot Noir is a real highlight and embodies the unique character of the terroir. Things are “young and dynamic” at the Hillepranterhof - the Kapfinger family looks forward to your visit! The event takes place in German.

From April 4 to 6, 2025, Monte Cavallo will host the third edition of the children's ski race “SKIDS - The Snow Festival.” Children and young people from all over Europe will gather here to compete in ski races on the same mountain that hosted the Ski World Cup in the 1980s. In addition to the races on the slopes, a rich program of games and entertainment is planned, not only on the snow. While the young participants engage in sporting competitions, coaches and parents will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and deepen their knowledge of skiing during discussion sessions and conferences. Participants will enjoy three days full of fun and entertainment, both on Monte Cavallo and in the town of Vipiteno. The 37th Bolzano Film Festival Bozen (12 - 21 April 2024) will officially kick off on Friday 12 April 2024 with a screening of the 1919 silent film Blind Husbands by Erich von Stroheim. On the opening evening, at the same time in the three cinemas of the Filmclub, Stroheim's directorial debut film will be screened in a restored and viralised version by the Österreichische Filmmuseum in Vienna and, for the first time in Italy, with live musical accompaniment thanks to the collaboration with the Südtirol Jazz Festival Alto Adige. Dedicated to the mountain guide Sepp Innerkofler, Blind Husbands was filmed at Universal Studios with a backdrop of the Dolomites of Cortina d'Ampezzo and was a great success at the time. Closing the festival on Saturday 21 April will be Linda and the Chicken, a small animated masterpiece directed by Chiara Malta and Sébastien Laudenbach, which won Best Film at the Annecy Animation Festival.

Gala, Kanzi, Fuji, Red Delicious – these illustrious names represent four of the total of 18 varieties of apple that flourish in the sunny orchards tended by South Tyrol's farmers. Crisp, juicy and fresh, famed as a vitamin bomb and popular well beyond the borders of the region, there is plenty to learn about the South Tyrolean apple. Did you know, for example, that the apple originally came from Kazakhstan? Or that one in three of all organic apples harvested in Europe comes from South Tyrol? Together with apple grower Christine we set out on a journey of discovery through the local apple orchards. Our charming and knowledgeable guide shares plenty of interesting and curious facts about the apple growing industry in South Tyrol, about organic and integrated cultivation, the different varieties, the ingenious methods of naturally-derived plant protection and the protected designation of geographical origin. During the subsequent tasting of the different apple varieties participants can enjoy talking shop about the apples’ flavours and textures and their personal favourites. There will also be plenty of time to ask questions of our expert.

Surrounded by historic walls, fresh air and the calming sounds of birdsong, we will learn how to open our minds, recharge our batteries and together find peace. In a harmonious sequence of asanas (body postures), we will direct our awareness to our breathing and practice meditation. And quickly notice how the soothing silence in us activates new vitality and enables our soul to relax. A wonderful experience for anyone who has not yet ventured into the healing world of yoga, but also for all those who are already very familiar with it.

The arrival of this beautiful time of year is traditionally celebrated in Schenna with a big Spring Festival run by the Voluntary Fire Brigade. All ages get together in the covered Raiffeisenplatz in the centre of the village to celebrate, dance and have a fun time. Alongside live music and all kinds of food and beverages, there is entertainment for the little ones, a vintage car blessing for the big ones and the traditional Sunday morning drink for everyone.

In early April, with the spectacular blossom of the apple trees, the Lana Golf Club will kick off the new season of tournaments. Participants in the tournament will be able to enjoy springtime South Tyrolean specialties made with wild herbs, which will be served directly on the golf course.
