    From Naturno you cycle comfortably along the Adige cycle path to Merano. From the Thermenplatz square, head eastwards through the Elisabeth Park into the Passeier Valley. Mostly flat, with a slight incline, you can enjoy the marvellous landscape along the Passeier cycle path (19 km). The refreshing air of the Passer accompanies you along the entire cycle path to St. Leonhard. After a short break, return to St. Martin, where the bike shuttle is waiting to take you and your bike back to Naturns in comfort. Limited booster seats for children are available.     On May 21, 2024, the Giro d'Italia returns to the valley and to S. Cristina for the first time: After a long stage, the athletes will reach the finish line at Monte Pana in S. Cristina in Val Gardena. This will, of course, be celebrated in style. The open-air party at Monte Pana, near the finish line, begins at 10:30 a.m. The group "The Waydlee" will heat up the atmosphere from 11:00 a.m. onwards before cheering on the cyclists. From 6:00 p.m. onwards, the group "Pëufla" will entertain you musically.

    Giro d'Italia 2024: Finish 16th stage Livigno - S. Cristina

    After 2017, the famous men's road cycling stage race returns to Val Gardena and for the first time to S. Cristina. Val Gardena, where cycling has always played a major role, has had the honour of hosting the Giro d'Italia nine times: the first time in 1940. On 21st May 2024, the Giro returns to the valley again: after a long stage with the Cima Coppi of the Passo Stelvio, the athletes cross the finish line at Monte Pana under the majestic Sassolungo at S. Cristina in Val Gardena. The stage starts uphill with the Passes Eira and Foscagno followed after Bormio by the Stelvio. Afterwards long descent and long plains to Bolzano along the Val Venosta and the Valle dell’Adige. From Cardano follows a long climb to Castelrotto and Passo Pinei. After crossing Ortisei, the last few kilometres are a gentle ascent up to the final climb to Monte Pana in S. Cristina.

    Llama meets Culture - Trekking Walk around "Montani" Castles

    After first getting to know each other, starting from the animals’ winter quarters in Laces, with the llamas on a leash we walk through the surrounding apple meadows and along a serpentine path up to the castle ruins of Untermontani with a wonderful view over the entire central Vinschgau Valley. Continuing towards Obermontani Castle at the entrance to the Martell Valley, we may walk in the footsteps of our medieval ancestors and listen to the stories of our Llamero Florian before taking a rest at the castle. Florian will not only tell you everything about the llamas, but also about the historically significant surroundings. On an old Waalweg (irrigation channel) we then cross the woods above Laces with our cuddly four-legged friends that leads us to the sunny plateau of the Magrinböden. From there we descend via a forest path to the Bierkeller (refreshments possible), before returning to the starting point. If desired, a shorter route is also possible via Saint Stephen's Chapel (14th century - most extensive Gothic fresco cycle in Tyrol) or just through the surrounding meadows! The tour is especially beautiful during the blossoming time of the apple trees! Difference in altitude: approx. 100m Duration: approx. 3 hours (a shorter tour is also possible on request) Suitable for children from 4-5 years, smaller children should be accompanied by another person when leading an animal.     The hike starts at the village square in Lajen/Laion. From here you walk together with the hiking guide Helmuth via Fonteklaus to Freins. Arrived at Petra's Honey Hut you come to the first tasting. Different honey variations are tasted and different products are discovered. All are self-produced and processed. Now it goes back to Fonteklaus where lunch is already waiting. After lunch we continue to Lusenegg where the taxi will take us to Novale/Ried. Here is the second stop - jam. At the Zinegg farm there is a wide variety of jams to taste. Afterwards the day ends with the hike to Lajen. Height difference in ascent: 300 m Height difference in descent: 650 m Distance: 11 km

    This exciting and eventful event at the Runster Mill, on the Sonnenberg mountain Naturno, fascinates young and old! Accompanied by a guide, you hike slightly uphill to the Runster mill in approx. 30 minutes. Exciting stories and legends about Naturno are told along the way. Franz Fliri and Walter Müller from the Naturno/Plaus local history association will be waiting for you at the mill. Franz will tell you about the Runster Mill and its history. If you like, you can also take some of the freshly ground flour home with you and bake your own bread rolls. Suitable for families with children aged 7 and over, in case of rain the event will be canceled. The tour is only in german language!
