In our restaurant you can savour typical South Tyrolean cuisine, mediterranean and international specialties as well as great local and Italian wines. In addition to half-board, you can have a delicious local lunch on our wonderful panoramic sun terrace or in our restaurant „Rundegg”.

The farm is situated between the Eisack and Tiers valleys, nestled in the midst of orchards and vineyards. The apartments are comfortably furnished in traditional style. The inn attached and owned by the same family serves speciality foods and home-made wine.

Hiking and enjoying in our Plattkofel Refuge. An ideal starting point for great hiking and climbing around Plattkofel - and Langkofel Mountain. Our hut is located in the Dolomites at 2.300 metres above sea level and is an ideal starting point for various hikes and challenging mountain treks - for example, you can reach the Rosengarten, Schlern, or go over the Seiser Alm, also to the Sella mountain range or even to the Marmolada.

Moderate E-Bike Tour. Basic fitness required. Mostly paved paths. No special skills necessary. The starting point of the tour is accessible by public transportation.

Kastelruth, idyllically located at the foot of the Dolomites, captivates with its historic village center and the distinctive Kastelruth church tower. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. This place, steeped in history, is truly a gem of the region.

The bike tour takes you down into the Eisack Valley, where you’ll ride through a partly mountainous landscape while enjoying stunning views of forests and meadows. At your destination, Sterzing, you’ll discover a charming old town with splendid townhouses and Gothic churches that highlight the city’s medieval atmosphere. Sterzing is not only a historical treasure—it also offers numerous cultural attractions, such as the impressive Reifenstein Castle.

Down-to-earth and cosmopolitan: the fact that someone can be both is proven by Markus Prackwieser. Although he runs the Gump Hof Estate Winery at Fiè allo Sciliar, which is nearly half a millennium old, with a great deal of respect for tradition, he also gets his inspiration from abroad: from Wachau, Austria, from Burgundy, or from the Loire Valley. “Those are the exemplary regions,” Prackwieser says.

Since 2000, he has been responsible for the Gump Hof Estate winery in Fiè, and since that time, he has sought exchanges which do not always have to cross borders. Thus along with Günther Kerschbaumer of the Köfererhof and Christian Plattner of the Ansitz Waldgries, Prackwieser forms a wine trio that exchanges information, consults with each other, and makes use of synergies.

So new paths are not a strange thing to the winegrower, nor are deep roots in history. After all, the Gump Hof dates back to the sixteenth century. “That characterizes the estate, it has an effect with respectful dealings with the environment, with typical grape varieties being grown, with classic cultivation methods, and with laborious work by hand,” Prackwieser says. Within that context, the winegrower can fall back on vineyards from 400 to 550 meters in elevation, up to 70 percent of which are steep, in which Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, and Schiava grow.

Or, as Prackwieser says, “The knowledge that has been acquired, our own experience, time, and patience; and the honing of an independent flavor profile all lead to the character of the landscape being reflected in our wines. And that of the winegrower.”

Hotel guests at the Urthaler Restaurant can enjoy delicious gourmet menus, speciality buffets and tasting sessions. It goes without saying that specific requirements, diets and nutritional habits can be catered for. And for those who want to be pampered culinary especially, we offer a la carte dining in the evening in our restaurant “Jägerstube”. On the restaurant bill 15 euros per person are credited to you.Try the treat of the slightly different cuisine - enjoy unique flavors and tastes that you find nowhere else.

The tradition of winegrowing at the Tschötscherhof in Castelrotto has both a museum side and one that is most definitely still living. Thus not only is old agricultural equipment exhibited here, but their own wine is made, as well – both then and now with success.

For over a century, grapes have demonstrably been grown at the Tschötscherhof in the Castelrotto district of San Osvaldo, with just the venerable grapevine in front of the farmhouse being over a hundred years old and thus living proof of the winegrowing tradition. Within that context, the farmhouse with its grape growing areas is situated at an elevation of 750 meters. “Thanks to the southwestern exposure of the slope and the especially mild climatic conditions, though, it is in fact possible to achieve outstanding grape quality,” explains the young grower Andreas Jaider.

He is a trained winegrower and bears the responsibility for the wine pillar of the Tschötscherhof in Castelrotto. Under his aegis, their own wines are made at the estate for which Jaider has also won awards, including the white wines (Müller Thurgau, Sylvaner, Kerner, and Gewürztraminer) and the reds (Blauer Zweigelt and Pinot Noir).

The fact that he is standing on the shoulders of his forefathers with what he does is made clear not least by the Agricultural Museum which the elder boss Michael Jaider set up around 15 years ago in the estate’s barn. Old equipment tells of the early life on the farms in and around Castelrotto. And thus of the winegrowing tradition of this landscape which is otherwise characterized by the Alps.

Cafè - Bar in the centre of Siusi

For nearly four hundred years, grapes have been grown at the Prackfolerhof in Aica di Fiè. That is all the more remarkable when you think that no one would connect either Fiè allo Sciliar or Aica di Fiè with grapevines or wine. At least, not right away...

...And that is completely reasonable, since even at the Prackfolerhof in Aica di Fiè, what is needed is time, lots of time, to get to wine here. The farm was first mentioned in a document in 1429, and “only” around two hundred years later, and thus starting from the seventeenth century, were grapes planted here and wine made.

And that is no accident. In contrast to the heart of the village of Fiè, the area of Aica di Fiè is located at around 600 meters above sea level on a sun-drenched slope on which high temperatures are reached during the day through the vegetation period, while thanks to the elevation, it cools down comparatively sharply at night. “These temperature differentials along with the moraine soils over the volcanic Bolzano quartz-porphyry base offer the best conditions for winegrowing and high-quality wines,” Patrick Planer explains.

He holds responsibility for the wine, and that means: from the vines to the glass, every step is taken at the Prackfolerhof in Aica di Fiè solely and independently along the path to fresh, elegant, mineral-rich wines. Bound by tradition. And committed to it.

In the „Plattkofel“-hut the boss himself looks after your physical well being. You can choose typical local dishes from our rich food- offer, which lasts from home-made „Schluzkrapfen“ to „Bauernschöpsernes“, delicious South Tyrolian sweet dishes and self- smoked bacon.With a lot of love and fantasy Thomas uses above all Typical farmer products, meat, vegetables from our garden as well as wild herbs.

Our house is family run and located on the southern town entrance about 200 metres from the village centre.

The ‘Wood Cross Fit Parc’ is located on the "Jog" meadow above the Völser Weiher Lake. The CrossFit Parc was equipped according to the CrossFit principle. This means that the equipment is handmade from stone and wood and no plastic is used. The Wood CrossFit Parc above the Völser Weiher Lake has a total of 15 pieces of equipment, including rings and barbells made of stone and wood, pull-up bars and leapfrogs.

CrossFit is a full-body training method that combines elements of athletics, gymnastics, powerlifting, gymnastics and weightlifting. The training mainly uses your own body weight and barbells, but no machines. The aim of CrossFit is to build general and broad fitness.
