A wonderful hike through the larch forests from Sexten to the Innerfeldtal Valley with a direct view of the mountains.
A peaceful hike accompanied by solitude and silence with a magnificent panorama - an insider tip for nature lovers.
On beautiful sunny days, such a Gsell round is the best, it is a beautiful and slightly challenging round. When the blue of the sky, the green of the meadows and the scent of the trees combine to form a picture, a wonderful harmony and beauty is created.
This lesser-known Alpine hike is intended to take five days. It runs west to east through the Dolomiti di Braies and Dolomiti di Sesto (Pragser Dolomiten and Sextner Dolomiten), takes you Close to many of the main and most frequently visited refuges in the region, and will astound you again and again with ist breathtaking views of the most captivating peaks of the Limestone Alps.
An easy hike through larch woods and the romantic Fischleintal valley, to the very foot of the Einserkofel.
This inspiring trail is very popular with guests and locals alike.
The history of the forest chapel is interesting: the church, which is almost entirely made of wood, was built around 1917, as the parish church in Sesto was badly damaged during the First World War. For 14 days, the farmers and the priest at the time worked on the church from early in the morning until nightfall. The wood for this came from a hay barn that had been crushed by the snow. In 1917 and 1918, every church service was celebrated there and, especially during the fascist era, the forest chapel served as a hiding place to hold masses in German. Today, the chapel is also known as the Peace Chapel and was restored in 1974. In 1988, at the suggestion of the then parish priest Markus Küer and in collaboration with the Sesto woodcarver Georg Lanzinger, a path of reflection was laid out to the chapel. Near the chapel there are cup stones, which are among the oldest traces of settlement in Sesto and are also the last of the biblical stations along the path of reflection.
The walk begins in the WoodWonderWorld, a playground in the forest and an adventure world and leads along a gravel path to the source of the Drau, about halfway between Dobbiaco and San Candido. Due to its quiet location, the relatively short walking time and the low degree of difficulty, the walk is particularly recommended for families.
The WaldWunderWelt is a play, adventure and information facility on the subject of the forest.

A good alp-round-tour with nice lookouts in a beautiful landscape.
Along the way, 14 stations with various texts from the Bible and matching relief carvings invite you to pause for a moment. Both the Lordesstöckl on the way to the forest chapel and the clear fountain at the 9th station of the contemplation trail are always popular with visitors and locals alike.

The starting point of the via ferrata is the Rifugio Auronzo.
The via ferrata who takes to the Torre di Toblin/Toblinger Knoten is short but very steep and exposed ladder sections over the north face of the mountain with a wonderful view of the Three Peaks.
Just behind the Rif. Locatelli/Drei Zinnen hut, the path takes upwards in the direction of the summit. After a few minutes, there is the road sign which leads to the ’Dolomitenfreunde’ climbing trail. There are no major problems, even if the path seems a bit adventurous at times. To reach the summit there are 140 metres of hanging steel ladders (about 17 of them). Some of the highlights are a wide chimney, where you have to change from one side to the other (Zwergentod!) and a crossing on slippery, bent hooks in the steep wall. For the descend you have to take the Feldkurat Hosp trail at the other side of the mountain.
This long but absolutely beautiful hike offers you spectacular views at the 3 Cime, once you reach the Gwengalpenjoch/passo Alpe Mattina. The path is a bit steep. If you have a good physical constitution you may make a longer round reaching the Passo Rondoi/Wildgrabenjoch where you can see the 3 Cime even better. You can reach the Innerfeld valley by bus/shuttlebus or you plan your next tour ending in the Innerfeld valley where you have parked your car p.e. the wonderful Mount Gsell starting at the Fischleintal (see tour 2) You can also do the hike vice versa, but as described it is more beautiful.
Easy circular trail in the midst of snow-covered forests. From time to time you can enjoy a view of the centre of Schmieden/ Ferrara and the traditional farms on the Pragser Berg mountain.
Please note: Due to the temperature fluctuations, there may be icy patches on the trails and we therefore recommend the use of crampons!
Beautiful hike from Moos to Froneben with magnificent views of the Sesto Dolomites.
This via ferrata is a very long and demanding mountain tour that requires mountain experience, knowledge of the weather and a very good physical condition. The long ribbons, which are well secured in the exposed areas, lead again and again in the lower part to the steep steps that connect the crossings.
A wonderful, easy winter hike with a lovely mountain hut to stop at for refreshments.
Easy alpine tour with a spectacular view of the Dolomites of Sesto.
This roundtrack takes you to the house of Gustav Mahler and the small house of musical creation, where he created his "Symphony No. 9", "Symphony No. 10" (unfinished) and the song cycle "Lied der Erde".
A leisurely walk from Sesto over the Mitterberg/Monte di mezzo to the Gasthof Panorama with a wonderful view of the sundial of Sesto.
A wonderful hike through the larch forests from Sexten to the Innerfeldtal Valley with a direct view of the mountains.
"DOLOMITES WITHOUT BORDERS" - The project was born out of the idea that the Dolomites should no longer be a barrier but a place of meeting and friendship. A high-altitude trekking route including 12 „via ferrata“ - each of them unique from alpine or historical points of view. They are interlinking Italy with Austria. The project extends over the areas of the Cadore and the Hochpustertal, area of the Drei Zinnen all the way to the Tiroler Gailtal. "DOLOMITES WITHOUT BORDERS" runs partly along ancient warpaths, trenches and galleries, a "peace path" on former war sites. An Alpine experience for all mountain enthusiasts!
The Knieberg juts out a little from the Carnic Ridge extending south-eastwards from the peak of the Helm, offering outstanding views both of the Sexten Dolomites to the south-east and down into the Cadore-Piavetal valley. This trail still bears many traces of the First World War.
A pleasant walk from the Gasthof Panorama to the Rifugio Pendio Monte Elmo/ Helmhanghütte.
