The trail goes uphill from Moso towards the Berghotel. If you turn right at the first fork you come to the Froneben mountain inn (1,540 m). Now you walk on trail no. 139 across the Obere Oltl upland moor to trail no. 13, a forest road. This leads through dense pine forests to the gorge carved out by the Sextner Bach stream. When you reach a fork in the road near a tall cross, turn left towards the Klammbachalm Alpine farm, which is staffed in winter. The views are lovely, the scenery is fantastic and the hut is rustic and cosy. Now continue on trail no. 13 directly from the Klammbachalm hut via the Negerdorf huts to the Helmhanghütte mountain hut. Below the Helmhanghütte, you cross the ski slope and return to Moso via the Trojerhöfe farm buildings (trail no 3a).
Tips and special remarks: You can also do this hike in reverse, where a break for refreshments at the comfortable Froneben inn is particularly rewarding.
