Fenn, Gaiderin, and Kematen – The History and stories behind Field Names around Klobenstein with Expert Johannes Ortner. Meeting point: 10 a.m. at Klobenstein train station/goat. Duration: 5 hours, bring a picnic in your backpack. Hiking price: €15, free with RittenCard. Language: German & Italian. On this hike around Klobenstein, we will discover old field names such as Fenn, Gaiderin, and Kematen, which reveal much about the rich linguistic history of Ritten. However, these names also hold clues about past agricultural activities, local vegetation, and even prehistoric times. Field names often reflect how people perceived and categorized their surroundings. Ethnologist and name researcher Johannes Ortner will provide further insights into these and other local peculiarities. Registration with the tourist office by 5 p.m. the day before.

at the Parish Church of Unterinn. In more than 70 churches, monasteries and chapels in South Tyrol, a diverse, creative and appealing program for young and old will again be offered. The Long Night invites you to make the treasures of the churches (spiritual, social, musical, cultural, artistic, creative) visible and accessible in a new way also for people who are far away from the church, it enables encounter and exchange and offers a space to get to know the communities, places and people of the different denominations.

Ancient Mobility: In prehistory and the Middle Ages roads and paths led travelers over the Ritten Plateau to avoid the swampy Eisack Valley below. These roads and paths are still visible in some places today: at the ruins of Castle Zwingenstein which date back to the 13th century and was built to guard an ancient road. Nearby there are also remnants of a Rhaetian dwelling (2nd century BC). Afterwards, hikers pass a church whose patron saint was St. Sebastian during the plague. This same church dates back to the time of the nearby Roman road. From there hikers go up toward Lake Wolfsgruben and then proceed to the prehistoric and early historical site of Wallburg Wallner Egg. The meeting point will be disclosed upon reservation. The hike ends at the mountain station of the Ritten cable car in Oberbozen/Soprabolzano.

The Bolzano Concert Association is one of the oldest music organisers in Tyrol. It goes back to the Bolzano Music Society, which has been instrumental in the musical development of Bolzano since 1855. Since its foundation in 1855, its aim has been to organise an annual season of first-class classical music concerts in Bolzano almost without interruption.

The air is fresh and clear, the silence soothing – and gradually, we become more aware of the gentle sounds of nature. The soft murmur of the stream accompanies us along the way. We take off our shoes, feel the soft forest floor beneath our feet, and immerse ourselves in the ice-cold, crystal-clear mountain water.
