The hike starts in Stange and follows trail no. 1A to the ticket office of the Gilfenklamm gorge. The route leads through the impressive gorge, crossing flights of steps and bridges, until reaching the locality of Jaufensteg. From here, return to the starting point by bus line 319 (Ratschings/Racines – Sterzing/Vipiteno). Further information on timetables and connections is available at www.suedtirolmobil.info/en. To avoid uphill sections, the gorge can also be explored in the opposite direction, starting in Jaufensteg and finishing in Stange.
Refreshment stops are available either at the Gasthaus zur Gilfenklamm tavern in Stange or at the Gasthof Jaufensteg tavern in Jaufensteg.

The starting point can be reached by bus line 319 (Sterzing/Vipiteno – Ratschings/Racines) and bus line 312 (Sterzing/Vipiteno – Ridnaun/Val Ridanna). Get off at the “Stange” stop. Further information on timetables and connections is available at www.suedtirolmobil.info/en.
From Sterzing, follow the signs towards the Ratschingstal and Ridnauntal valleys. Continue past Gasteig to Stange, the starting point of this hike.
Parking is available in the car park at the entrance to the Gilfenklamm gorge, located on the left-hand side shortly before Hotel Ratschingserhof when arriving from Sterzing. Alternatively, parking is also available at the sports area in Stange.
